“When you asked me out I thought things would be different.”
He laughed. “I asked you out? You must be delusional. I’d never ask you out you are not my type, for one I have no attraction towards you. You are a pathetic delusional w***e. You were only good for one thing and you weren’t even good for that.”
“Go to hell Aubrey. Find another f*****g tutor that will put up with your s**t cause from now on I’m not.”
“You’re not going anywhere Torino.’
“f**k you, Aubrey! I should’ve realised that you were talking s**t cause you were drunk. Good luck with trying to find another tutor. Good f*****g bye.” She stormed off.
“If you leave you’ll f*****g regret it. Don’t forget who you are dealing with Torino.”
She stuck her middle finger up before leaving and slamming the door behind her, It had been a month since the party and he was acting no different, they’d almost gotten expelled but money talks and bullshit walks. It sure did with Aubrey Tanner.
She should’ve known better when he pulled her into that room, he reeked of booze and he was drunk.
She’d agreed truly thinking he had changed. She’d helped him catch up with all of his work for the upcoming week and then he suddenly snapped turning into a monster again.
She couldn’t take it anymore soon year ten would be ending and they’d be heading into year eleven, their final year. She was glad she’d put a stop to it.
He couldn’t keep doing this to her, it was affecting her both mentally and socially, her friends had begun to notice the difference in her and it wasn’t a good change.
Tears fell off her face how could she be so stupid to think he was any different than the rest of the jerks in their year? How could she be so stupid to think he wanted to be her girlfriend? If he’d lied about that what else had he lied about?
The window of the Mercedes wound down. “Miss it’s not safe around here please get in the car and I’ll take you home.”
She looked over. “Thanks but no thanks.”
“It’s not safe to be out here miss.”
“I appreciate your concern Lucas, but I’m fine. I’d rather walk.”
“But.”
“Tell that... tell Aubrey there is no need to be concerned if I live or die anymore. I’m pretty sure I can take care of myself. I don’t need his pity, so please just let me walk home.”
“If you’re sure miss.”
“I am.”
He nodded closing the window. She continued walking the tears flying off her face as she held her coat tightly to her.
She walked through the park. Sitting on the bench crying.
“He’s not as bad as you think he is Miss.”
She looked up. “I thought you’d gone?”
“May I?”
“Sure knock yourself out.”
He smiled sitting next to her. “He’s a good kid miss.”
“I doubt it.”
“He just has a short fuse.”
“That’s an understatement.”
“Give him time Miss. His parents work a lot, and he hardly sees them. It’s a pleasure to have someone in the house with him who doesn’t look at him as a bank cheque. He needs you, Miss, even if you don’t need him. His parents have high expectations of him and he is struggling with everything and he resents them for making it so tough on him, just be patient Miss that’s all I’m asking.”
“I’m sorry I can’t, I’ve tried it’s no use.”
“Don’t give up miss.”
“I’m sorry I already have, he’s just going to have to find another tutor.” She said, pulling herself up.
“So that’s your final answer?”
“Yes, it is.”
“Well, at least you can’t say I didn’t try.”
“No, you can’t.”
The rain began to pour. “Can I offer you a lift home miss?”
“No, I’ll be fine.”
“It’s raining Miss, we can’t have you catching a cold you have school tomorrow.”
“Fine.” She sighed.
He smiled and pulled himself up off the bench and they walked back to the car getting in.
He drove her home and she thanked him before going inside.
Aubrey looked at Lucas as he parked the car. “Well?”
He shook his head.
“You were supposed to change her mind.”
“I tried sir.”
“You didn’t try hard enough.”
“She’s not interested sir. I have no idea what you said to her, but it hit her hard cause my words were useless, she had no intention of changing her mind.”
“Fine, you’re dismissed.”
He bowed walking away. He closed the door. Aubrey punched the wall with force, how could have been so stupid? He wanted her, why the hell did he tell her otherwise? He cursed as he punched the wall he was going to get her back no matter what it took.
