CHAPTER 5: WEAPONS COMPETITION III

    After the four days break, Leron summoned every remaining competitor to the grand hall for a brief talk on the competition so far and give some basic information on how the third and final level of the competition will be conducted. It was meant to be a brief lecture but turned out to be an interaction between Leron and the competitors. At 8:51am, Leron entered the grand hall, as he greeted all competitors, Good Morning Participants, Good Morning Sir, they all replied, well I am Leron and as you all know I am your test instructor. The reason you all were summoned here was to kind off interact with each other, get to know each other for future basis and discuss on the past levels of the competition and how far it has gone and I’ll round it up with a detailed information on the final level of the competition and other things you need to know about it. Well without further do, let’s begin after the brief introduction and opening a window for interaction between the competitors, a participant from behind the audience put up his hand, as he asked Leron a question on how they were being judged during the previous levels of the competition. Leron answered his question, by saying well, the criteria of judgement was basically efficient of your creation, superiority in design, speed, skill and time which is precisely for the system control and system security category. Any other question he asked the audience echoed reluctantly, No Sir! Leron replied, okay then, over to the second phase of these interactive session which is the third level of the competition. Now as you all know, the first two levels of competition has passed with a thousand and two- hundred of going out at subsequent levels now we are left with eight hundred for the final stage, and we’ve decided to kick it up a notch. The final level will be seeing two hundred of you crashing out fifty from each groups so as to get to our goal of six hundred winners. In this competition there are no final winners, no first place or the third place, no reward, the only reward you get is the opportunity of working for the benefit of the human race and earning income for yourselves. So best believe that everyone is a winner. Alright let’s start as I breakdown your criteria of engagement to you all. First you are two- hundred in a group, having four groups to talking up to eight hundred individuals. In this final level, your task is team work, but not actually, your main task is to work side by side with each other to create something marvelous, that the participants from another group will be paired with suitable participants from another group. Now if you all look to the big screen in front of you, you’ll see what each group paired would be creating for starters system control category. Your assignment would be to create a system interface able to detect heat signatures from least four- hundred and fifty kilometer away, analyse threat and trigger the weapons control interface system you created, next system security you are to create, a system able to detect, hack, program and reprogram any computer, machine or weapon. For the weapons engineering and functionality category, each and every one of you are to make two weapons/machine; one which  would be an offensive weapon but have a high defensive capability  unto the next and final category ,the fibre optic design group, you all are to create a complex but simple structure which would be linked to the weapons and sensory interface trigger system, now to explain your assignment further it is essentially a house of weapon and sensory interface trigger system each of the W.I.S.T created would be   housed in each of the complex yet simple structure created by you all, which implies that you all will be pairing up with system control group and the WEAPONS EFFICIENCY AND FUNCTIONALITY would be pairing up with the system security group now we have four group paired into two, eight hundred participants, two-hundred each in one group; paired you will be having four- hundred per pair in group 1 which is W.E.F and S.S individual pairs will be two-hundred pairs each; in group 2, the S.C and F.D groups individual  pairs also amount to two-hundred each making it four hundred individuals pairs in total now all individual pairs would be divided into eight batches of fifty participants each, number of people that would be knocked out of each of the four groups is fifty each, it literally means that twenty-five individuals would be knocked out of each batch, making it a total of two hundred participants that would be knocked out of this final stage. Now rules of engagement everything created by each group would be tested together as pairs, example one participant from the W.E.F and one participant from the S.S groups creates each of their individual creations when scoring. it would be tested in pairs which means the offensive and defensive weapons created by the participant from the W.E.F will be tested if programmed and reprogrammed by the system created by S.S group which the reprogramming and hacking would be a system defensive protocol while the programming phase would be a system defense access protocol, with this you all have the criteria of how you are all going to be judged, now the part which pairing test fails or isn’t efficient would be knocked out or if tested on the work of an individual lacking in the individual pair he would be knocked out and the other would proceed to the final six-hundred participants. After stating, the criteria for sealing every groups combined effort, he dropped the time which the final stage will start which was next week Monday, the final stage was to be begin at exactly 9:00am sharp. Meanwhile, at my villa, I was taking a cool straw in my flower house, sipping in the cool air, for a moment it felt I was back to the normal life, the outside world, I almost forgot I was a survivor. Hah funny how reality could just flash within your eyes as swift as a wind. It came back again the cry of humanity, the cry of lives been lost, the ache in the heart, that I’ve failed humanity, even with all the riches and wealth I had, my heart was still empty, there was no bringing in of what were all lost back, the only way for me to get rid of my misery was to stick to my promise, and never go back on my goals, no matter the times I fail. Just after contemplating on how miserable my life has been, my Aide popped in as she greeted, Good Morning Sir, I tried to shake off the disappointing look on my face by replying her greeting speedily, being so observant she read my looks but hesitated to ask me what was wrong by acting surprise to see, hanging around in my flower house, because she knows whenever I’m contemplating on something bothering me. I came here to clear my head. To further hide my countenance, I replied her question like there was nothing on my mind, well I’m catching a bit of fresh air, isn’t it nice to breathe in the gentle breeze and the contagious smell of the ferry blossom gloxinia’s and violet rose flowers. Hearing the little disdain in the voice, she played along, before dropping the bomb, I was avoiding. Yes it’s nice and refreshing sir, as she called me by my first name, Daniel, you are not a good liar, and she drew me close to her bosom, looking straight into my eyes. She told me it’s all in your eyes. Daniel, the eyes don’t lie as she pats my head and said I know what’s bothering you Sir if all will be fine in due time. Hearing her calm gentle words and sweet, persuasive voice the wad in my heart lifted, for a moment, I was free as we walked out of the flower house. Entering into my meeting room, she briefs me on activities to do. For the day, which included visiting every continental province, visiting the proposed site for the bureau of defence building and finally getting a proper data compilation of the amount of citizen in need of social amenities and financial aid in every continental province. This very activity was going to be very taking because we had no accurate data compilation machine, while in thought of how accomplish the final task. I remember the second level of the competition had an assignment which had the competitors to create a system capable of compiling data and giving accurate result. Quickly without hesitation, I had my aide contact Leron, in other hand, to find me the most efficient of all the data complier system created. The phone beeped as we took off, coming out of my private vehicle hanger, Leron picked as he was informed on the situation on ground by my aide. Hello Mr Leron we have a situation which needs your urgent attention, what is it if I may ask, well Mr Leron, Sir Daniel is on an personal assignment which needs an accurate data compiling system, heard one of the groups in the competition had that as their task, yes the system security group to be precise, well we need you to get us the efficient creation amongst all the data compiling system made. Hmm, that would take time, seeing that roughly eight-hundred participants were disqualified and only two-hundred are present in that very group it require me re-scaling every data compiling system created. He was trying to explain further when I cut in, Mr Leron, he replied; yes master Daniel , well you do not have all the resources to re-scaling the creation, if you need more hands helping you, you can employ from the knocked out competitors, I need that system As Soon As Possible, I am coming over to the competition center to get it, I need all hands on deck, pass my message to them and by the way, a warning to the one’s you will be picking, no funny movement if detected, the defaulter would be punished. Thirty minutes later, we arrived at the event center where the competition was been held, on arrival what we wanted wasn’t ready, so we had a little while. While waiting we decided to catch the ongoing fun by observing the search, after a moment of watching. The search was over and we got what we came for, I tasked Leron with getting the name of the participant whose data compiler was more efficient and send to me, as he sent it on the data cloud, downloaded the file and saved it. We now head to the first location of the first activity, the Asian Continental province, without having enough hands we had to send for people who would help us run the data compiler and take the census of the needy in the Asian province. We spent thirty-minutes compiling the data and getting results; ten of which we spent with the head of the Asian continental province Mr Hashimoto Todoki; when we were done, we took off to the next province which was the African Continental Province headed by ambassador Femi, I got the data we needed from the African Continental province and went on the next this continued until 2:55pm, after we were done with the data compilation we moved on to conquering the next final activity which was checking on the proposed site for the bureau of defense and war. We got to the site to see a glorious and breathe taken view. It was like a forested lakes with clean fresh water, soft rock pallets and tall bushy trees surrounding the beautiful lakes all round after a few minutes of taken the view, the site agent was paid off and the contract was to be awarded, but there was only one obstacle holding us, there were no architects or building engineers to design and build the HQ, plus the unavailability to building machines and materials also posed an obstacles to achieving another one of my dream but yet I was still not shook by the obstacle in front of me, because there was always a way to conquer all obstacle when we returned. An idea came to my mind, which was to create a bureau of science and technology which would include all engineering sectors, medical sectors and other biological sectors and also an architectural sector. Now we had two extra project popping up, which is the justice bureau and the bureau of science and technology, but in other conquer these two task, I had to first contact all continental representative and task them with selecting at least thirty capable hands to represents them in every sector of science and technology bureau, send them to the capital province for screening and scaling them. The scaling process was to determine the ones that would be placed on top and those that would be placed below also for the Justice bureau. I left it to father Xorn, Ambassador Femi and my aide judge Vanessa to handle the selection and scale of the people that would occupy the various position of justice bureau. The six continental provinces were to be represented in the Justice bureau, each continental province were to hold a significant position. After thinking of my newly formed idea, I told my aide about the plan and we began drafting of out our plan which we concluded by 12:00am in the night after which she retired to her home with my private vehicle and I slept off. The day drew by, as the day all participants were waiting for, came; the day which the final stage of the competition was to begin. As at 8:00am all participants were ready and present at the grand as the clock hit 9:00am, the Artificial Intelligence announced the opening of the competition as the alarm blew for all participants to begin sourcing for parts which were integral to their various creations. After all was done, Leron showed with some monitors which were Androids made by him, they were to serve as observers, comptrollers of the competition and ones responsible for the division of each categories into their various individually paired groups of two’s. The pairing took a few minute, after which Leron gave an opening speech with this brief words, you are all welcome to the final stage of the competition, I want to see the best in you all, and I really wish you all show me a tough competition, these final phase of the competition would last for one week and four days, good luck everyone and putting in your best, may the force of humanity be with you all, saying thus, he left and went to his observation room placing his monitors in strategic location of the competition. Every competitor in their pairs retracted to their various allocated workshop and laboratories as work began. It was the first day of the final phase of the competition, everyone looked hard simultaneously, pair by pair. The first day went successfully, as all competitor wrapped up for the day, some saving their works and some not doing so. Well, every participant was eager for the second day of the final phase which definitely came, same routine as the first day. Most competitors were having hard time arguing things out in their individual pairs, some were having fun taking things to the next level, some were still dominant, either looking for the perfect design and structures. For their creation, Leron observed and secretly scaled their teamwork and creativity from his observation room as his monitors came simultaneously at intervals to present event efforts to him. The second day also past and was great for some of the participants, but for some it wasn’t what they were expecting, some others also hoped and prayed that they would be good for them. It was the final day of the final phase of the competition everyone rushing helter-skelter, alarms beeping, time ticking as tables were turned for some people, some the table still remained the same, but there was a slight change as the people who had a hard time picking a suitable design coming a lot of creativity for the third day and finally agreed on the design to use. It progressed as Leron kept on observing and watching, with little amazement with eyes, he hoped it would get better by day. Finally, the third day came to a closure as all participants returned to their rooms for proper rest, waiting for their lucks to shine on the fourth day. After a nice sleep and rest, the supposed lucky fourth day came to play as all participants woke up with hot heads, and took Leron by storm, even the android monitors were amazed at what many of the participants brought to the table. After a long day of amazement, all the participants returned to rest waiting for the fifth day to bask in their glory again seemed like their prayer of luck came through such as Leron’s prayer for a better competition status came through. Okay, it was the fifth day of the competition, and the atmosphere was filled with dozens of bright vibing energy as all competitors woke up with bright and sounding minds. Leron woke up to more amazement, and all competitors were bringing it their “A game everyone in their individuals pairs were eager to succeed, even if they all knew not all of them were going to win but still the sense of making a mark was their driving force. After all the rumble and amazing energy, the fifth day passed and then came the sixth day, a day of upgrading as all participants were either done or half way through. Every participants in their individual parts were all eager to be scaled even if they still had a few things to add and few faults to correct. They all waited for the seventh day of the competition as they were to round up their creation in wait for the final four days which they were going to use to test run their creations. Boom, then came the seventh day which made it one week into the final phase of the competition. Every competitor made sure the rounded up their work to prepare for the test running phase, there was rumble in the workshop as every participant raced against time in order to see to the competition of their work. The seventh day finally came to pass and as half the participants in their individual pairs were able to finish their creation and were getting ready to test run from the first day of the next week, the other half which included the indecisive pairs and the pairs who had a hard time finding out what to do were all stuck and hoped to complete their works on the first day of the next week. It was Monday, the first day of the week and the first day of the final four days of the first phase if the competition, the individual pairs that were ready for the test running stage before presentation and scaling began test running their creation immediately they got to the lab, they were led to a special room by the monitors as commanded by Leron. The room which was big enough to contain hundred individual pairs, the pairs ready for testing were about four hundred and they were spilt into four of the eight available room, as the remaining four hundred pairs  were working on finishing their creation and start their testing. The eighth day of the final phase of the competition was over as the remaining individual pairs were able to finish their work. After a long hard day of looking and testing all participants retired home. Leron slept out of beholding the magnificent of the participants. It was the ninth day of the competition as the second half of the individual pairs began testing their creations. The grand testing hall was filled and busy with participants testing each of their creations. The test which lasted until the tenth day. On the eleventh and final day of the final phase of the competition, all individual pairs in the two paired groups were all standing with their creation by their side in the grand testing hall as all continental representatives, my aide, Leron and I were present as judge. Every creation was tested for the final time and scaled by Leron as the individual pairs that exceeded the performance levels scaled by Leron passed, the ones who hit the equal performance scaled to also pass but the individual and individual pairs that weren’t efficient enough all crashed out of the about two hundred of them. After the competition was over, a feast was held in hour of the competition and it’s participants including the final winners and losers all attended the feast, as joyous and glorious feast, with flashing neon lights busting around the party hall. It was energy filled and fun as drinks were passed around, delicious delicacies from around the six continent were served, joyous sound reigned around the island as the night came to an end. I had a meeting with my aide and announced the reason the losers of the competition were taken to the secret housing facility and the role which they held in the future after announcing that the one thousand four hundred participants who crashed out of competition were to serve as extra helping hands to the weapons forged bureau. The same night I declared Leron head of the weapon forge masters and war counsel and also a patron member of the bureau of science and technology which formation was on going, he was going to join the judge, Vanessa and Sir Hashimoto Todoki in the screening of the people who are to make up the different sectors of the B.S.T. After making my announcing, Father Xorn and Ambassador Femi escorted me out of the venue as I told them I was handing over the selection and formation of the J.B Justice Bureau into their hands, telling them I wished them good luck and entered the venue. My aide was asked to close the party and brief them on what to do concerning the selection of the Justice Bureau as she was also to ask them.
