Did I say too much? Ty was so quiet after I talked marriage and living together. But he asked and I wasn’t gonna lie. I’d love to have a life like that with him. I hope I made it clear that what he wants is more important than what I want.
Thoughts such as these swirled in Ward’s head as he drove home after dropping Tyler off at the Hughes’s house to pick up the boys. Eddie and jack were already asleep when Ward and Tyler arrived. Mr. and Mrs. Hughes were surprised that Tyler had come to pick them up. They seemed to assume that he and Ward were going to spend the night at Tyler’s place.
Since the boys were already asleep, Tyler had decided to stay at his parents. They had suggested Ward stay as well, but in deference to Tyler, Ward had declined and headed out to the farm.
