“Celest... Celest!” I could hear Aries calling my name from afar. I blinked several times trying to regain my vision. what happened? Looking around I could see fallen beams and broken walls all over the room. we were having our meeting talking about what was to happen now that things where at peace. We had done our job and it was time for us to finally live a full life. No more fighting no more being reborn it was over. The six of us had meet with the Alphas of the top packs and decided that we could live within each of the pack's lands. there was an empty house in the middle of a filed just on the outside of each packs land that was used as an old meeting house between Alphas. It was old and need much love but it was going to be ours. Then the explosion happened and everything we thought we were going to do gone. “Celest!” it was Aries, I need to get to him but couldn’t get up. Looking down only to see my legs stuck under one of the upper floors support beams. Just my luck. “Aries, over here!” I yelled as loud as I could. It was loud enough for him though he would always be able to hear me. I could see him getting closer to me. I tried to sit up only to clutch at my left side pain shooting up my whole body. “Celest, I fou... oh no.” he looked broken as he fell to his knees beside me. “Oh, baby I'm sorry I'm so sorry.” his voice was hushed and heavy with guilt. “Aw come on now it’s not that bad my love.” I gave him a half smile “you just have to move that thing there that my legs are under and we can go.” he moved his head to look at my legs a frown forming on his face. “They lied to us Celest.” he dropped his head running his fingers through his hair. “it’s ok we will figure it out but let's get out of here.” I was starting to feel week. He looked back at me his eyes showing nothing but sadness “I love you Celest and we will find each other again.” what? No why was he talking like that? “No, we can still go just lift the beam up help me!” I yelled at him, slamming my fist on his chest tears falling down my face. “Help me, I... I … I don’t want to die here Aries.” he grabbed my face hands wet with a warm liquid. “I can't do this again Aries I can't live another life over and over again remembering every way I died please just help me out of here so we can be together.” things were getting blurry and my breathing heavy. Aries brought his head down to mine resting his forehead on mine. Tilting my head, the rest of the way he pressed his lips to mine slowly at first as if he was savoring my taste then more passionately as if this would be the last kiss he would ever get. “Oh, my sweet Celest I am sorry I wasn’t able to keep you safe again, know that I did everything I could to change our fate.” It was getting harder to hear him and I was feeling cold. There was no denning it now, I was going to die and he was trying to keep my mind off of it the best he could. Slowly he started to lay me back on the ground then he himself laid next to me. Turning my head to look at him one last time. I took my hand and placed it on his face rubbing my thumb on his cheek “my love please...” I tried to pleaded not ready to go. It was of no use things were getting dark and I could no longer feel the fight to keep breathing. I jumped up in bed inhaling a deep breath. damp with sweat and some of my long black hair stuck down on my face. It was another dream this one a bit different than the rest. Normally I was fighting some rouge wolf or some monster you wouldn’t think to be real. Then there were times when I would dream about five other wolfs living together and laughing like one big family. Never have the dreams been about death not my own death at least. I would have to tell my mom about this one I wonder what she would have to say about this one. I got out of bed and went to the kitchen for a glass of water still trying to relax after that dream. While standing at the sink and looking out the window I saw him. The man in my dream, I dropped my glass causing it to shatter on the floor and spun around only to see no one standing there. Stepping over the broken glass I went to the closet to grab the broom and dust pan. That’s when I heard it “Celest” a heavy whisper close to my ear. Flinging my head from left to right looking around franticly. What was going on? After cleaning up all the broken glass I went to my room to get ready for the day. A long hot shower was what I needed that dream must have really gotten to me. When I got out of the shower, I saw that I had a message from my mom. Good morning sweety can’t wait to see you for breakfast, meet you at our spot in a few I love you. I messaged her back letting her know I was getting ready now. I haven’t really seen my mom in a while. She lives back on pack lands and I am off living my life. It may seem unusual for a female wolf to not live with her pack, but I find it better I'm not a rouge if that’s what you're thinking. I just haven’t found my mate yet and seeing how most of the male wolfs in my pack have found theirs or the bond didn’t hit for me I thought that it would be best going out and looking for my mate. At least that’s what I told my alpha and parents. That’s all I needed to get the ok to leave the grounds only to come back for big occasions. One of which just so happens to be today. One of the reasons I'm meeting up with my mom. Today we are celebrating the alliance of the red moon pack with ours. It was a small pack of five. It was a small pack of five from what my mom told me. I could see why they would want to become friends with our pack it is the largest in the state right now. Anyway, every pack member had to be there so they could get the scent of the new friends and vice versus. And what the best way for that to happen? Well throw a big party that how. After checking myself in the mirror one last time I grabbed my keys and headed out the door. When I got to the café, I saw my mom sitting outside. It has been two years since the last I saw her. She was still as beautiful as ever, tall and lean with just enough muscle not really bulky but able to see the outline when she flexed. There was a reason she was beta in her old pack. Now she was second beta to my father being his mate and all. Man, the love they have for each other. One day I'll have that to but not now not yet. I want to be free just a little longer and have a few adventures before its time for me to settle down. “Celest! Honey over here.” I heard my mother yell bringing me back from thought and putting a smile on my face. I was truly happy to see her. “Mom!” I yelled back as I half walked half ran to her. Pulling her into a hug as soon as I got close enough. “Oh, honey I missed you so much.” she said hugging me tighter. She pulled away from me her green eyes held a shine in them as she looked me over. “Celest, dear is that really what you are wearing tonight?” she had a questionable look on her face in fear that I might say, yes mom I will be wearing my black leggings and blue tank top that I work out in to the party tonight. I just laughed and her face scrunch up a little annoyed that I was. “No, mom I just wanted to get in a good run and use the gym, I have plenty of clothes at the pack house that I can use and be able to get ready there.” I smiled at her when she had a look of relief on her face. “I'll walk you to your car so we can star going, where did you park?” I asked her not seeing her car. “Oh, I took the bus I thought it would be nice to drive back together.” I looped my arm through hers and we walked back to my car starting to catch up on everything that has been going on. we talked about how my brother Nate will be stepping up as beta soon and taking over for my father. He had found his mate last week when he went to the High Moon Pack to open a trading barter with them. So, within the next month they we be married and promoted to acting betas. “How are you guys doing with it I know it must be a little hard to step down after so long?” I asked her wanting to make sure they were really ready for it. “Well really, I am fine with it I feel like it is time to pass on the trouble but your father, he is proud of his son and knows he will be a great beta he just doesn’t want to retire yet something not wanting to just sit around the house all day and do nothing.” she laughed. That sounded just like dad though he never was one that could just sit still. As we pulled into the pack grounds, I drove right to my parents' house. my dad and brother were standing outside waiting for me. I was so excited to see them I almost forgot to put the car in park before getting out. “Dad, Nate, it so good to see you guys.” I said while giving my dad a hug. Turning to Nate to hug him as well. “Oh, by the way congratulation mom told me you found your mate and will be taking over for dad soon, time to show the old geezer how the job is really done.” I laughed out looking over at my dad who now had a look of betrayal on his face. “Right here Celest right here.” he said and pointed to his heart to show just how hurt he was. “Ok, now let go inside.” my mother came up from behind my dad embracing him in a hug. it was about twelve in the afternoon by the time we were all done talking. “All right I'm going to the training grounds to get some laps in.” “OK honey, just don’t forget to be back by five to get ready.” my mom shouted from the kitchen. “Don’t worry I won't see you later.” I told her while walking out the door not giving her a chance to stop me. When I got to the training grounds I went straight to the lockers and started to take my clothes off. It has been a long-time sense I have gotten in a good run and I was very excited to say the least. I put my clothes and my locker and started to head to the track when I was slammed into the locker knocking the breath out of me. “What the hel...” before I could even finish my sentence I was cut, off warm soft lips pressed onto mine. I pulled away once again hitting my head on the locker. s**t. Rubbing the back of my head I looked up at the man that just attacked me. It was Max the alpha’s son or should I say my ex-boyfriend. “Max what the f**k! you can’t just do that.” I looked at him annoyed. He just smiled down at me lowering his head towards my neck. “Why not? I missed you. Besides it’s not like you have mated with anyone.” he was kissing the side of my neck all the way to right below my ear. I let out a soft moan as my body shivered from his touch. No not this time I wouldn’t fall for his charm again. I pushed him off of me grabbing my clothes from the locker I guess I'll be running another day. As I went to leave, he grabbed my arm. “Come on Celest why are you being so uptight? You know it’s not just s*x I'm after I haven’t seen you in three years.” he looked at me a shy smile on his face. “Ha, really Max you don’t want to f**k me.” I told him feeling myself getting angry. His eyes darkened to black and a devilish smile spread a crossed his face. He started to close the gap between us. Pinning me once aging against the lockers. With one hand placed on the side of my head he brought his free hand under my chin making me look at him. “I never said I didn’t want to f**k you little wolf.” his eyes full of lust as he claimed my lips again. I couldn’t help myself this time dropping my clothes I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer to me. A low growl coming from him, moving his hand to the back of my head grabbing a fist full of my hair. A gasp escaped my lips and he slipped his tongue into my mouth. He grabbed my hand opening and closing his mouth putting thought into what he wanted to say. “We don’t have to have pups right away.” he paused “we will be Alpha and Luna we can go on as many adventures as you want.” he just looked at me hope in his eyes that I would say yes. But we both knew the answer it was the same thing he said three years ago before I left. “My answer is still the same as it was three years ago.” I told him not wanting to look at the hurt I just brought to him. I got off of him and grabbed my clothes still facing away from him. “I’ll see you at the party Max.” I started to walk away. “Celest, please wait.” he yelled at me I could hear him getting his pants on before he ran after me. I went over to the dressing rooms to put on mine and to keep some space between us knowing the argument that was to come. “Celest don’t give me some s**t about you wanting to find your true mate like last time.” he banged his fist on the door. “I know you don’t really believe in true mates. I know that you just didn’t want to be forced into a marriage with someone.” he sighed and I heard him slump to the floor. “Max, I...” stopping to think of what to say there was no point in lying to him. He had figured out most 9 / 14 of it anyway. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to be forced into marriage I didn’t want a mate at all. I knew the moon goddess only gave true mate to those wolfs that truly needed someone to love them the way they thought they could never be loved. And I was not one of the wolfs. “Max, I don’t want a mate at all not now not later, that’s just not what I see in my life.” and that was the truth I don’t know what it was but something inside me just wanted to be free. “Oh, so what you just want to w***e yourself around to every wolf you come across!” he yelled slamming both his fist on the door causing me to flinch glad I was not on that side. “Max, you need to go now I have to get back to my parents' house and...” I stopped I could hear him walking back and forth more than likely arguing with himself on whether her should leave or stay. The sound of thunder ran though the training grounds as max let out a growl while shifting into his wolf and running off into the woods. I waited for about ten minutes before leaving the changing room. I know Max wouldn’t hurt me but in wolf from we can be more emotional and when a wolf is angry sometime there is no stopping them until it's too late. I got back to my parents' house talking a deep breath before walking in the door. “What are you waiting for?” my brother asked from behind making me jump and a small screech escaping from me. “What the hell Nate don’t just sneak up on me!” I yelled at him. He just smiled at me “What don’t want mom and dad to smell Max all over you?” I looked up at him shocked. Of course, he could smell him they all would as soon as I walked in that door. “You're only making it harder on him.” he said before walking in the house. I decided to go around back less of a chance of running into mom or dad. Peeking through the door to make sure made me feel like I was six-teen again seeking home from a party. I ran up to my room right before my mom came around the corner. I knew she could smell me and him but she didn’t say anything. I got up to my room and went right to my closet to grab a dress for tonight. I went with a long backless dress that was black and had a silver lining and a halter top chain that chipped in the back the dress had silver glitter throughout it making it sparkle in the light. there was also a sit in the side stopping right below hip. I was not going to let what happen today mess up tonight. I jumped in the shower and scrubbed as much of his sent off of me as I could. After getting out of the shower I dried off and started doing my hair and makeup. I did a smokey eye shadow and a cat wing eyeliner with red lip stick. Curling my long black hair to top it all off. Walking into my room I grabbed my dress and put it on. After slipping on my silver heels, I gave myself one last look in the merroir. I couldn’t help but smile I was looking good no I was looking sexy as hell and ready to party. The grand hall was beautiful as I walked in, with fairy lights hanging from the ceiling and large black and silver curtains in every door way. At the other end of the grand hall sat the Alphas family. I could see Alpha Mason and Luna Amelia sitting on top of the platform. Next to him was Max and to my surprise next to Max sat a pretty young lady. With autumn brown hair that stopped at her shoulders and golden honey eyes. She was a short girl no taller than 5’2. She had on a short white dress and matching heels. Alpha Mason stood up and walked to the edge of the stage. “I would like to start with welcoming everyone here tonight.” he said with a smile on his face as he looked around the room. “There are two reasons we are here tonight one is to welcome the alliance between the Red Moon Pack and our pack the other is to announce the marriage between my son Max and the daughter of the black blood pack alpha Aurora.” everyone clapped and cheered. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing just an hour ago we were having s*x and him talking about marking me only now to see he is getting married. Max and Aurora stepped to the front waving at everyone. That when Aurora’s eyes landed on me slanting slowly as her smile started to fade. Oh no did she know, did he tell her or just show up not even trying to hide my sent on him. Great not even home for one day and I managed to mess things up already. No, he was the one that came to me I just got back I didn’t know he was engaged. I turned around and walked to the back of the room getting as far away as I could. “Now if I could have the members of Red Moon, please step forward and line up it is time to for everyone to become familiar with their sent.” Alpha Mason said. Soon every wolf started to get in line they walked down the platform shaking hands and smelling each other. Just looking at it would seem crazy from the outside world for us it was just a way of life. I couldn’t help but smile I guess that is the one good thing living on pack land. We are free to be who we really are. I was getting closer to the front now. From what I could see there was three guys and two girls. All of a sudden, my stomach was turning and it started to feel hot and sweat started to run down my face. Then there was a pain starting in my head. It got so bad that I had to stop and lean on the wall. What was going on? Other wolfs were walking around me. My head was throbbing it felt like it was going to explode. “Ahhhh!” I screamed. Gasped erupted throughout the room while wolves turned to look at me. “Celest!” I heard Max yell within seconds he was by my side. “What’s wrong?” he asked pulling me to him so that I could lean on him. I looked up at him tears in my eyes my heart racing starting to go into a panic not knowing what was happing to me. “Help, please.” was all I could get it out. Why was this happing to me? “Ahhhhh!” another sharp pain accompanied by a flashing light Making me grab my head and fall to my knees. More bright lights flashed through my mind. My vision became blurry and I couldn’t see. “What is happing to her?” Max yelled. “Celest?” my head snapped up that voice why did it sounds so familiar to me. “Is that your name?” the man asked walking over to me the pain in my head becoming stronger the closer he got. “Get...away...” I managed to get out. He stopped right in front of me getting down on his knees. Lifting his hand to my face and pulling away some of my matted hair from it. For a moment it all went away my breathing was heavy but I could breathe again. I opened my eyes again to be met with the most beautiful emerald green eyes. I know those eyes “Aries?” I whispered out before the light came again and then the pain came it was too much, I couldn’t handle it. “Nooooo!” was the last thing I remember before passed out.
