8. Wait, What?!

MARCUS’S POINT OF VIEW

“Okay, so what do you need?” I asked Ethan as we head outside the library and arrived somewhere private. This is so ridiculous! He knows that I am going to confess to Harmony today so why the hell is he interrupting me?!

“I am so sorry for interrupting you but…” Ethan said while looking for the next word he is going to say. I am just watching him while thinking about a good alibi and when a whole minute has passed, I decided to interrupt him.

“What’s the matter?” I asked him while looking straight into his face. I know that he is hiding something from me and I can feel it!

“Come on Ethan! Spill it! You just ruined everything, I was about to tell Harmony about how I truly feel about her! The timing was so perfect and yet you interrupted me! Geez!” I said while trying my best not to sound so frustrated when in fact I am so frustrated right now!

“I’m sorry for ruining your moment, but there is something I need to tell you,” Ethan said which made me frown. 

“You kept on saying that you need to tell something important and yet you are not saying anything. What is it?” I asked him while looking at him. 

“You cannot confess to Harmony,” Ethan said which made me frown. 

“Huh? What are you talking about? Why I cannot confess to Harmony? She doesn’t have a boyfriend or anything like that so, why not?” I asked him while frowning at him. 

“You just can’t okay? By the way, I will go ahead now.” Ethan said and then he started walking away from me. Wait, what?! What the hell is wrong with him?! I was about to call him but I will just continue talking with him in our house. Tsk! What is wrong with him?! Interrupting me like that. Well, I guess I will just make another momentum tomorrow. I just let out a heavy sigh before I started walking towards my car and driving back home.

HARMONY’S POINT OF VIEW

“Yup! I will start teaching Ethan from this day and I didn’t know until when.” I said to Genevieve while we are walking towards the table. 

“Wow! Can you handle both of them?” Genevieve asked me as we sat on the vacant table we found here inside the cafeteria. I just shrugged at her first before speaking. 

“Actually, I don’t know. I met Ethan yesterday and he seems fine for me because he didn’t even speak.” I said which made Genevieve laugh sarcastically. 

“Tsk, tsk, tsk, you just didn’t know him well Harmony but once you know him geez! It was like meeting a devil in real life.” Genevieve said which made me frown.

“Trust me, Harmony, Ethan is way worst than you think! By the way, let’s start eating now and head back to our classroom.” Genevieve said as she started eating her food so I just nod at her before I started to dig in my food. 

“Hmm, Harmony I will come with you later,” Genevieve said while she is busy eating her food. 

“Huh? Why?” I asked her while frowning. 

“I need to protect you from Ethan. I am sure that he will bully you and I won’t let that happen.” Genevieve said which made me smile.

“Don’t worry about Marcus, I can handle him.” She continued so I just nod at her while smiling before I continue eating again. I am so lucky because I have her, I have someone I can lean on.

“Thank you so much, Genevieve, but I guess you don’t have to do it. I promised you that I can handle Ethan but I would be so happy having you there with me.” I said which made her look at me. 

“Hmm, I also need your teaching so yeah.” She said while smiling at me which made me smile at her too. After that, we just continue talking about some random stuff while we are eating our lunch.

“Oh, my goodness, is that Ethan?” Our attention got immediately caught when we heard a loud murmur from the girls here inside the cafeteria. 

“Yeah, oh my goodness! What is he doing here?” Some girls asked while looking at Ethan and Marcus together with their other friends. It looks like they are looking for someone and when one of his friends looked in where we were, they started to walk towards here.

“Hello, Ms. Harmony!” Marcus greeted me as they reached our table. I secretly take a glance at Genevieve first before looking at Marcus who is currently staring at me with a sweet smile on his face. I smiled back at him first before I started to speak. 

“Ahm, what are you doing here?” I asked him. While I am looking at Marcus, I noticed that every single girl in this cafeteria are looking at us which kind of makes me super uncomfortable!

“Nothing, we are about to eat our lunch when we saw you here so we decided to say hi,” Marcus said. 

“By the way, good afternoon Genevieve!” Marcus said which startled Genevieve. Marcus just giggled at her because of Genevieve’s cute reaction. 

“Ahm, good afternoon too, Marcus,” Genevieve said while smiling at him. Wow! If I am not Genevieve’s best friend, I won’t notice that she is just acting and faking her smile. 

“By the way, we got to head now. See you later Ms. Harmony!” Marcus said so I just nod at him while waving my hand at him. I was about to continue eating again when Ethan catches my attention. He was just looking at me while they are walking away from our table and when he saw me looking at him, he immediately looked away as if he is not staring at me just now. 

“What’s that?” Genevieve asked me which made me look at her. 

“Honestly, I don’t know,” I said which made her giggle while shaking her head. 

“Marcus was so obvious that he is head over heels towards you,” Genevieve said which caught me off guard because every time she opens up about this topic, I just didn’t know how to respond. 

“By the way, let’s go now? I need your help with our next subject.” Genevieve said so I just nod at her before we stand up from our seats and head back to our classroom. We were about to head outside the cafeteria when someone called my name which made the both of us look behind us. 

“Ahm, Ms. Harmony, right?” A sophomore female student asked me so I just nod at her with a smile on my face to make me look approachable. 

“Yes, what’s the matter?” I asked her.

“Ahm, someone told me that you can help someone like me with my research paper?” She said which made me smile. I was about to answer her when Genevieve speaks before me. 

“I am so sorry baby girl but my friend right here is not doing it anymore. If you are having a hard time on your research paper then go get your laptop and start researching.” Genevieve said which made me smile. 

“Ahm, I’m sorry but who are you? I am talking to Ms. Harmony, not you.” The girl said which made me look at her and also at Genevieve who looked so surprised right now. Genevieve scoffed first before raising her pointy finger and started to speak. 

“Ah! I am just Harmony’s best friend s***h sister by heart so if you wouldn’t mind, we will leave now. You should also go now and start working with your research paper.” Genevieve said before holding my arm and we started to walk away from that girl.

“Ah! I never thought some sophomore girl will speak to me like that!” Genevieve said while we are walking towards our classroom. 

“I also didn’t think that she will speak to you like that because she was so sweet when she approached me,” I said while shaking my head. 

“By the way, Harmony please stop accepting such requests from now on. You are already earning enough money to support you so you don’t need to do that stuff anymore.” Genevieve said which made me frown. 

“I guess for me it’s fine,” I said

“It’s not fine Harmony, you are just teaching them to rely on you, and also you are tolerating their laziness. Before I am just turning blind with that because I know that you need to earn money but now, I will tell you what I think about on what you’re doing.” Genevieve said which I understand. I also didn’t want that I am doing that but like what she said I need to do it before for money. 

“Hmm, thank you, Genevieve. I promised I won’t do that again.” I said which made her smile. 

“I also didn’t want you to get in trouble. I know that if the president knew what you are doing, your scholarship might be in trouble and I didn’t want that to happen.” Genevieve said which made me smile even more because she was concerned for me. I grabbed her hands first and squeezed them gently before speaking. 

“Yeah, thank you so much, Genevieve. I am so lucky to have you.” I said which made her smile. Genevieve flipped her hair first which made me giggle. 

“Of course! By the way, we need to go now I still need your help.” She said so I just nod at her before we started walking again towards our classroom. As we arrived in our classroom, Genevieve immediately asked me about our last discussion. 

“Yup! I also kind of struggled in this part but I guess I kind of get it.” I said which made Genevieve let out a heavy sigh. 

“I knew it! That is the reason why I didn’t get a single part of this lesson!” Genevieve said which made me frown.

“Huh? Why?” I asked her. 

“Because the smartest person in this university also struggled in this lesson,” Genevieve said which made me giggle. 

“Silly! I am not the smartest person in this university. It just happened that I was able to take the number 1 spot but it doesn’t mean that I am the smartest one.” I said

“Nah! You are the number one student in this university which means you are the smartest.” Genevieve said. I was about to answer her again when our professor heads inside our classroom. 

“Let’s just continue talking about this later,” I whispered to Genevieve and she just nods at me before we looked in front of us and started to listen to our professor.

ETHAN’S POINT OF VIEW

“By the way, why did you decided out of nowhere to have a tutor?” Marcus asked me while we are walking towards the library.

“As I told you earlier, I also kind of struggled with one of our subjects. Don’t worry, I won’t take a lot of days with you guys. I just need clarifications about the questions I have in my head.” I said and he just nods at me as his response. I know that he is getting pissed at me at this moment because I am taking away his precious moment with Harmony but I don’t care, I need to do something before it’s too late. 

“Good afternoon Ms. Harmony! And oh, you are also here Genevieve!” Marcus said as we reached their usual table. 

“Good afternoon Harmony and also to you Genevieve,” I said as I sit beside Marcus. 

“Good afternoon too, Ethan,” Genevieve said which made me smile secretly. Yeah, the reason why I take tutor all of a sudden is because of Genevieve. When I knew that Harmony is Genevieve’s best friend, I immediately decided to have this tutor so I can get close with Harmony and ask for her help to get close with Genevieve. 

“Ahm, by the way, Genevieve will also join us today because she told me that she also needs help. So, let’s start now?” Harmony said so we just nod at her as our response. While she is teaching Marcus, I noticed that Genevieve is simply taking a glance at Marcus and Harmony with a hurtful look on her face. What’s wrong with her?

“Yeah, then study this for 10 minutes and I will come back to you okay?” Harmony said and Marcus just nods at her with a smile on his face. 

“Ahm, Ethan this is the first time I am going to teach you and I didn’t have an idea where you are struggling so will you please tell me?” Harmony said which made me look at her and see her smiling face. I don’t know why but the moment I looked at her I kind of feel this warmth in my chest. I immediately looked away from her and just get my notebook to look for the topic I am kind of having a hard time. 

“Ah, about this subject specifically on this topic,” I said while pointing at my notebook. 

“Ah! I also kind of struggle in that topic but thank goodness I still get it.” Harmony said while smiling at me. I didn’t know what’s gotten into me but while looking at her face with that sweetest smile I have ever seen my heart is jumping in happiness which is so weird!

“Really?” I asked her and she just nods at me while smiling still which made me smile secretly. Geez! What’s gotten into me? The first time I have ever felt this feeling was when I fell in love with Genevieve? Do I like Harmony?

“Yeah, but don’t worry you can still trust me with this one. I already researched about this topic so I already totally get it.” Harmony said while smiling. 

“That is good to hear then,” I said and she just nods at me. After that, Harmony started to teach me about the topic, and honestly, she teaches so well. It was like she is simply putting all the information inside my head, wow! She should be a teacher someday!

“Wow! Ms. Harmony, you are such a good teacher!” I said which made her blush. 

“Ah, thank you but you are also a good learner.” Harmony said while scratching her head. I was about to speak again when Marcus speaks all of a sudden. 

“Ms. Harmony I am done!” Marcus said which made Harmony look at him. 

“Wait a minute.” Harmony said before looking back at me and honestly, it makes me so happy when she did that. 

“Ahm, I will give 3 problems for you to solve and you need to finish it in 15 minutes.” Harmony said while she is writing something on her paper. 

“Here.” She said as she handed over a piece of paper with three problems written on it. 

“Only 15 minutes?” I asked her which made her giggle. 

“Yeah, only 15 minutes.” She said before heading towards Marcus to test his knowledge and honestly, I was so surprised when he answered all Harmony’s questions.

“Wow! You answered all correct! So, shall we move on with our next subject?” Harmony asked Marcus.

“Hmm, okay! But I will take a break first.” Marcus said 

“Okay, only 10 minutes okay?” Harmony said and Marcus just nods at her before standing up from his seat. 

“Marcus, can I come with you?” Genevieve said which made me look at her. 

“Of course!” Marcus said and Genevieve immediately stands up from her seat and they started to walk away from here. The moment they left, my attention immediately went towards Harmony who is currently reading her notes. Geez! Why can’t I focus on solving these problems? 

“Ahm, do you want to ask something?” I didn’t know that I already spaced out while staring out of nowhere. 

“Ah, no, nothing,” I said which made her smile. Geez! Why does she need to smile like that? She looks so cute! Argh! Stop it, Ethan, Harmony is just a nobody compared to Genevieve! So, stop this Ethan Archer McMillan!
