Lard

A brush of wind followed Vanessa up the staircase. Her hair would blow back on each turn. Each step felt like it was gonna break. Never did it hinder her sprint. Even the puddles of blood and muck were easily avoided. Kiki called over the intercom, "Vanessa, raise your right hand if you can hear me". She rose her hand confirming she can hear Kiki. The pig creatures wheeled at the sound of Kiki's voice. But it didn't break them away from their search. "Alright Vanessa, they are still looking for the girl. Get off on this floor and sneak into the first room on your right. There's a pig in there, but you should be able to sneak past it". The moment Vanessa's foot hit the floor, she came to a brief stop. Dust blew back just to be kicked by her foot slowly gliding down the hallway. A closed-door was on her right. b****y handprints were over it. It must've been a horror show for anybody who was working here at the time. Knowing there was a pig in there, she slowly turned the knob and pressed against the door. She held her blade tight, hoping nothing would creak. Once the door was opened, Vanessa noticed the pig was sniffing against the wall. On a lower volume, Kiki called on the intercom, "Vanessa, learn its rotation. It'll soon turn toward you". She backed away before the pig turned. What a cheat though? That fat thing reminded her of the fat demon from December. "Don't engage. Count the seconds of its rotation to sneak by," Kiki called. Counting was easy. Peeking from different angles of the door was easy too. Not vomiting the wretched smell that couldn't be defined was another. It was like a burnt metal that was strong enough to shoot her tonsils mixed with another molded pork that sitting in a fridge with no power for months. Her skin crawled with the notion of maggots falling on her. "Vanessa, go. And be careful when exiting. I don't see what's in that hallway," called Kiki. Steady breathing from her mouth helped Vanessa walk smoothly across the small room. The thought of a better route never broke her out of focus. Each step was smooth enough to take her by without notice. Her scent was the snitch that alarmed the pig. It backed up to only a few feet in front of her. Turning its head, the pig couldn't figure out what the smell was. Vanessa froze to not further alarm him. Hopefully, her smell would be covered by one of the many corpses around. Or even its own smell due to being six and a half feet tall, pure fat, with discolored skins that reeked. One of the dead bodies caught on fire. The pig creature ran over. Perfect timing for Vanessa to swift her trot out the door. A second pig walked in. Vanessa slammed her katana into its neck twice without thought. Two slits were there that oozed enough blood to dampen paper. This piggy swung its cleaver and missed. Vanessa would swing her sword three to five times in the time it took for him to swing once. Never did she do significant damage. The pig squealed to alert the other. It caught on fire right after. "Vanessa, he's clearly melee resistant. Run". She brushed past the burning pig to an open hallway. It slammed into the doorway in an attempt to kill her. The first pig chased after but was too slow to catch up. Relieved that she can outrun the creatures, Vanessa continued until she came down to a right turn. "Go ahead. There's nothing there except one door. Go into it. The other side will be a big factory room with a lot of pigs in it". But when she got to the door, it was locked. "Do you know how to pick locks"? Vanessa shook her head. "Crap. Check out that hole in the ceiling at the end of the hallway". Vanessa saw the hole, but it was disgusting. Like seriously rotten. She didn't want to go up in there. Why on earth her legs squatted down for a full jump up was beyond her. It was like her instincts refused to be stopped by trivial matters. Except for water of course. "Hold fire," whispered Vanessa to brighten the inner ceiling. She held the little flame in her left hand while looking around the nasty area. She bear crawled her way to remain silent. A small light shining up was seen afar. Kiki looked around on her cameras, looking for her little Italian. A burst of flames took out one of the cameras. Cursing under her breath, Kiki saw Vanessa run out of the room to the ledge from a different camera. Without care of what she went through, Kiki called, "Vanessa, look over the ledge. You see down at the office with the window? That's where she is". Vanessa stared down the ledge, past the giant bubbling broils of yuck, to see an office as Kiki described. It was a nice little walk. Nothing too bad. A few pigs walked around sniffing for the girl. Thank God they were blind or else Vanessa would've been dead. Kiki literally watched her just carelessly walk down without minding their presence. "When you get in the office, quickly shut the door so they don't smell her. And switch to a full magic kit. Hybrid attacks can be bad". Vanessa rushed in, slamming the door behind her. The loud bang alerted the pigs. But none came after her. They simply looked around for a bit before continuing their normal sniff search. Under the desk, the little girl cried in the fetal position. She looked over at Vanessa who was reaching down for her. It took a little convincing for the girl to trust Vanessa. But when she did, she latched onto her shoulder for dear life. "Switch your fighting style. You can't be blowing up rooms with a little girl in your arm like that".
