After that terrifying incident, Vincent surprisingly kept his distance. I was grateful for the reprieve, but still jumped at every sound, expecting him to burst through my door at any moment.
My phone rang, startling me. Detective Harrison's name flashed on the screen.
"Sophia, listen carefully," his voice was urgent, almost panicked. "The earring Jonny gave you—get rid of it immediately."
