Technically First Date? (Troy's POV)

I wake up and checked the time.

"Woah, it's just 7 am? guess no one's up yet" I thought to myself.

I wonder if Maya's awake yet.

Maybe it's too early... but I'll take my chances.

What do I start with?

What about a heyyy wassup? Nah too chill for an early in the morning chat

Whatcha doin'? Hmm... I've heard this somewhere before but I'm not gonna use this one.

"Ugh Troy relax!" I say to myself and try not to worry even more.

Let's try something simple...

"Hey! Have you eaten breakfast yet?" I typed then pressed send.

I hope she's awake though, I really want to see her again but I don't want to make it obvious how much I REALLY would love to spend time with her again.

"No, not yet. I've only just woken up. By the way, why are you up so early?" she replied.

Oh no, what do I say? should I just go ahead and ask her out? I mean... it seems too soon for that and maybe what I really meant by that was just to get some coffee, hangout a little and maybe practice out the thing we gotta do for school?

Yeah that, that's what I probably meant but I have no idea how it'll go if I ask her to come with me and if she'd even wanna go this early. Guess I'll find out.

I typed the words then sent it to her.

"Wanna go get some coffee with me?" I asked.

She's kinda taking a while to reply... Oh no... did she notice something? did she notice I sounded pretty clingy towards her? maybe she did... I mean I don't want to explain to her because even I don't understand what's going on with me... I need to say something. But maybe I'm just thinking too much into this, I guess I'll just ask if she wants to come and once I get a response, that'll probably calm my nerves.

"So? are you in?" I asked yet no response again.

I got a little worried that she got weirded out by me so I thought of an excuse.

"I need more practice too especially for tomorrow so both of us can be ready..." I added but 5 minutes later, no response yet.

Ugh, I'll just come clean to her.

"... And because I miss you..." I added again.

She's still not typing... I messed up real big here.

As I was about to panic, I finally see her typing...

Thank God! I thought I was in trouble there!

The message wrote...

"Sure, I'll take a shower and get ready" she replied.

Wooh, for a second there I thought she got creeped out by me for chatting this early in the morning.

I then replied to her message as soon as possible.

"I'll pick you up at 7:30, ok?..."

Before I sent the message, it felt like there was something missing...

So I looked for the perfect emoji...

"...See you :)" I added.

Perfect! What better way to start the day and message than with a smile, what a classic.

Of course, I had at least 30 minutes or so to get ready.

After I messaged her I immediately ran to the bathroom and grabbed my towel to take a shower.

Took me 15 minutes then I was done.

Wore my favorite shirt, jacket, and pants. Sprayed a lot of perfume on me. They say girls like men's cologne but I don't really know if it's true but it's better that I'm sure.

So at least she'd remember my scent so she'd think of me more.

Now that I'm saying that out loud, it definitely sounds weird.

Then I spent a few minutes in the mirror fixing my hair.

But wait-

Do I really have to do this?

Meh, it doesn't matter. I wanna look great in front of her.

I wanna look my best for her!

After I was done, I called my uncle that I was ready to go.

I went in the car but when I got there, I started to feel a little sleepy again.

I thought that since we're a little far from her place. I decided to sleep while I was in the car while I wait until we arrive at her house.

- In my dreams -

Hmmm... where am I? Aren't I supposed to be at Maya's place already?

I look around... I seem to be lost... but I see someone not far from here...

"Hello? excuse me? I seem to be lost... could you help me-" I stopped as I saw a familiar face walking towards me...

It's Maya!

- dream interrupted -

"Troy-... TROY!" As the sound got louder, I eventually woke up then opened my eyes and realized it was all a dream.

I then opened the door for her and try not to look sleepy around her because technically I asked for this.

"Are you ready?" I asked.

She didn't answer immediately and kept on looking down on her things. Then I realized that she was checking if she has everything we need ready.

So much for a date. It took her a few minutes but she finally answered.

"Yup, I'm all set. Shall we go now?" She asked.

I'm really so excited that I couldn't contain my feelings anymore. I couldn't help but let it show in my voice.

"Well then let's go! sit here in the back with me!" I gladly replied. Woah, I got a little too excited there.

I hope she didn't notice.

She got into the car with me at the back, but I couldn't help myself... I scooted over to her side so I could be close to her. I just really missed her ever since yesterday.

But I use an excuse because it seemed like she was close to being weirded or creeped out by me and what I was doing.

"Can I lay here for a while? I'm still tired from waking up so early" I asked and I used this as an excuse as well.

I didn't even hear what she said next... All I think I could remember is that I've already drifted off to sleep...

- back to my dreams -

I got back to my dream and Maya was still there where I saw her last.

She spoke to me.

"Why? didn't you sleep early?" She said.

Well since this is a dream and it's all inside my head, I told her the truth.

"It's all your fault..." I replied to her

"Why? did I do something wrong? how come it's my fault?" She asked while the look of confusion is etched across her face.

Again, I decided to tell her the truth, this is all in my head anyway.

"...You kept me up all night thinking about you..." I answered while I admired her beauty even more...

"What did you mean by that?" She asked while still managing to look beautiful even when she's confused.

I then got closer to her and we sat at a bench near the both of us and there, we sat.

After sitting down, I put my head on her shoulder 'cause I wanted to see her beautiful eyes up close and see its beauty from a different angle.

Then, I answered her while looking directly into her eyes, it felt so real.

"I don't know either, there's just something about you that made me think of you a lot that night. Until now you're still stuck on my mind." Then I smiled at her afterwards 'cause I wanted to let her know that I was telling the truth.

I felt her heart beat fast, it made me comfortable and thought, maybe she does feel the same.

Then suddenly... I felt like we stopped... but in a dream?

"Don't worry, you're safe" I whispered to her ear. I felt her heart pounding even faster.

"...I want to be the first... and last to make you feel this way... I'll never... ever make you feel lonely..."

I added and since this was a dream, I leaned in for a kiss since I could never do that in real life.

I put my face closer to hers while my lips are shaped ready for a kiss. I was that close that our noses started to touch. I'm so close... yet so far... 'cause this is just a dream after all...

The place started to get blurry... Was I waking up?

I opened my eyes slowly as my dream ended as soon as I opened my eyes, but wait-

Why are our faces so close to each other?

I tried changing the topic in my head which I'm about to ask why we're so close to each other, I look above her head and saw that we finally arrived!

I try starting a normal conversation to steer far away from asking why our faces were so close to each other so instead of asking about that, I said "Oh, we're here! How long was I out?" I asked hoping she won't mention why our faces were so close to each other.

"Wasn't really that long, probably about 20 minutes" She answered.

Phew, she didn't mention anything about what happened earlier.

That was a relief.

She went out of the car first while I followed.

We then went into the cafe and while we both chose what to order.

I pulled up a chair and asked her to take a seat while I ordered for the both of us.

She sat down while I was in line making an order.

After I ordered, I got to our seat but before I knew it... I've fallen asleep already! and in front of her!

Welp, guess back to the dream world.

- dreaming -

"Hey! you're still here!" I said as a familiar silhouette drew nearer until I could finally see that it was Maya!

"You're back!" I added.

"I never left... I was always here..."

"I want to tell you that this is all real,

Even the true feelings that I conceal"
