siren: the beginning

Such a sweet voice , music she was singing was so pleasing to my ears ,I began to follow the voice the closer I get the farther it becomes it seems to be coming from the bush path , I followed it down after what seemed like forever I got to a river the song it stopped the moon reflected on the Waters . I walked closer I saw my reflection I felt drawn into waters like something or someone was calling me down there my feet's where already in the water the chills going deep through my veins I felt like I should be here all of a sudden I started sinking i struggled to move my legs then I was drowning I heard someone calling my name Hailey, Hailey then I woke up it was just a dream, water was streaming down my face I came back to reality seeing my mum standing close to me with a cup in her hands no way she poured water on me. ‎Her sharp voice cutting through my thought ‎ ‎" get up you lazy brat can't you see what time it is"she said loudly ‎ " thank your stars I'm in a good mood this morning I'd have used the whip"she said walking out of the room ‎ ‎I looked at my alarm clock it was 6:05 my alarm went off by 6:00 I must say she's diligent in waking me up more than the alarm clock. I dragged myself sluggishly from the bed I wonder how my life came to this why my mum started treating me differently what did I do so wrong? ‎ ‎I arranged my bed and went downstairs immediately my sisters weren't down yet so I had to hurry up with the chores and make breakfast for everyone dad was out for work for a month so it's gonna be one hell of a month. ‎ ‎I used to be the treasure of my parents always happy I got everything I wanted. dad was a truck driver he was barely around but whenever he came around gifts were In abundance toys clothes sweets clothes he got them all , I was the envy of my neighbor hood kids,in school I had lots of friends and I shared my candies my lunch box was always fully packed to the brim fruits juice box cookies biscuits and so on.. ‎ ‎mum always came to pick me up from school not a minute late. one day it was raining when dad drove into the yard I dashed out before mom could stop me dad was already waiting with his hands wide open I jumped on him , he raised me as we twirled in the rain laughter filled the air as mum watched us from the balcony dad signaled her to join us she shook her head. ‎ ‎dad chased me round the yard and when we've had our fill we decided to go in ‎ ‎"stop,right there" mum said as she revealed the hose in her hands I have to clean your filth before you step into this house ‎ ‎" take cover " dad shouted as warm water washed us clean when mum has done enough to her satisfaction she handed us warm towel. ‎"honey you go change up while I change and dry mica up" mum said ‎" hot chocolate will be ready soon" she added ‎ ‎"you had fun with dad right" mum asked ‎ ‎" yes ,I did" I answered ‎ ‎"why didn't you join us"I asked ‎ ‎" I had so much fun watching you guys play" she said ‎ ‎she changed my clothes to a thick warm clothes I put on my fur flip flop ‎" baby come take some cold pills ,so you don't catch a flu" she said ‎ ‎" no I don't want to, I don't like pills" I dashed off to dad's room, taking refuge behind him ‎ ‎" what's wrong princess" he said lifting me up ‎ ‎" mum wants to give me pills and I don't want to take them"I told him ‎ ‎"why don't you like them" he asked ‎ ‎" but they make you healthy" he said ‎ ‎" I'm not sick"I said ‎ ‎" it's for prevention darling, and besides dad's taking too" mum said playing the pills and the water on the table ‎ ‎"mica ,lets do this we'll take this together if you take it better than me without no reaction I'll give you the new candy I got" he said ‎ ‎"all of it?" I asked eagerly ‎"no three" he said ‎"that's just one added to the normal two I get, its not worth the struggle" I said ‎" you're way too smart for your age, ok let's make it four" he said ‎"five or no deal" I said facing him, he looked at me then mum as if asking for her intervention she said nothing ‎"okay you win, my daughter has a greater hand at bargaining wow I got to do what the princess wants" ‎Mom handed us the drugs and before dad could put he's in his mouth I was done with mine. Mum just stood there looking at dad go through another round of amazement. ‎ ‎" can't believe she tricked me" ‎" no I didn't" ‎"yes you did " he stood up and chased me I ran downstairs as fast as my little legs could carry but they were not fast enough dad caught up lifting me in the hair I giggled so hard. ‎"alright princess let's go get the stuff from my truck". ‎" yaay" I screamed happily ‎" I'll prepare the hot chocolate before setting the table for dinner" ‎"okay darling " dad said giving mum a perk ‎We dashed out to get everything dad got alot this time clothes shoe school bad beverages we had to go twice before we could move everything In ‎"this is too much mum exclaimed ‎"nothing is too much for my family you guys are the reason I worked so hard,every trip I take is filled with your thoughts" he said ‎" all I hope and pray for is too live long to give you both the best in life"he said ‎ ‎I looked at the kitchen it was a complete mess and I clearly had no idea what I was to make for breakfast asking mum would lead to beating not making anything quickly would be worse. grabbed some oatmeal from the cabinet Annabelle loved fruit oat with lots of milk so it'd be easier to please her, put some rice into the boiler I'd make some chicken curry sauce and fresh juice for mum . ‎ I washed the plates cleaned up the kitchen while making sure the meals where cooking perfectly.. ‎ ‎"good morning micha" it was Ann my younger sister looking exactly like my dad the resemblance could never be missed ‎Dads skin tone ,he's hazelnut eyes squinted,pointed nose , mum's blonde hair color I had ginger red hair skin tone was different from theirs ‎i had a milk white skin tone so fair like it was transparent , sky blue eyes that seemed to change color something maybe it's just my imagination though, Ann was everything different from me . ‎ ‎"morning,your breakfast will soon be ready " ‎"what are you making" ‎"fruit oat meal with lots of milk" ‎"that's nice, thank you" ‎"can I help you with the chores please I don't wanna grow up being a liability to myself" ‎With the way she said it I couldn't refute, she was one smart sixteen years old girl, mum and dad were so happy when they discovered they were gonna have another child I was super excited. ‎"sweet heart mommy is pregnant, what do you think it's gonna be a boy or a girl" dad asked ‎" a girl" ‎" why a girl?" he asked ‎"because I want to have a baby sister, to play with ,share my toys with and also style her hair" I said happily ‎" ok a girl it is" dad said . ‎ ‎"you have to be vigilant so mom doesn't see you , you know she'll bring the house down if she sees our princess working" I said ‎" I won't let her see me promise " ‎"Michaela,how dare you let her wash the dishes can't you see her hands are frail why are you trying to e*****e this fragile little girl" Ann say mimicking mum ‎I laughed hard " I'm sorry mom , she volunteered to " I played along ‎"enough for this ,there will be no lunch for you for three days" she said ‎I laughed harder she was good at mimicking mum that you'd think mum was actually the one talking. ‎"I don't get it though why is mum always so harsh with you, I mean you're her eldest child " she asked ‎" it happens sometimes, like you said I'm the eldest, she's only trying to make me strong for the world out there I don't think she hates me " I said ‎ ‎"hmmm" she said ‎I wonder why she hates me so much ,why the sudden change in attitude towards I was lost in thoughts ‎"micha ,micha ,micha " I jolted back to reality it was Ann ‎" your eyes they were changing colors like bluish green, like two colors compelling to one" she said looking shocked ‎"what are you saying , what bluish green" ‎" never mind, maybe it was color reflect from one of the dishes" she said ‎"if you say so"
