CHAPTER- 7

(Few months after the new year and few weeks before their exams..)

Since its anu’s last year of school and board exams are coming so she was always busy in studies preparing notes attending schools, tuitions . Same case with veer also.

One fine morning since Anu was going to school, veer’s mother visited them. She informed Anu that they were going out of city for few days in some relative occasion and veer will be alone here. So she requested her family to take care of him.

Saying this and with few more pleasantries she went out but not before telling Anu to go to veer’s flat and wake him up since its late and he will miss the college.

Anu after getting ready directly went to veer’s flat and enter his room. Veer stays there alone since he was 13 years old. His parents always too busy to take care of him. In their busy schedule veer couldn’t fit himself and so he slowly gets detached from his family. Now his only family was Anu. For her he was trying his best to stand in his life.

When Anu entered his room, the scene in front of her made her giggle a bit. She tiptoed towards veer and slowly ruffled his hair. He was sleeping upside down hugging one pillow and the blanket was outside bed . Veer after feeling soft hands in his hair moaned and pushed his face more into the pillow. Seeing this, Anu supressed her giggle and sit beside him . She slowly careress his hair . The more she careress the more he has the strong urge to hold that person tight beneath him. He knew she was Anu by her touch. He was awake but want to irritate her a bit or more like want more pamper from her.

Being fed up with his tantrums she pour the water from the jug kept at the bedside table. He woke up with a start and with that the duo started running around in his room frantically. Whole room was echoed with her laughter. Somehow he managed to get his hands on her and he swept her off the floor by her waist and make her twirled. She kept giggling. After some time, he put her down gave a sweet kiss to her forehead and dashed to bathroom for a quick shower.

Meanwhile, Anu was standing in front of the mirror and gazing her reflection. The content smile never leaving her face, the blush on her face . She was reliving the incident occurred just few minutes ago. She was lost in her own world.

Veer upon seeing her for a very long time from the bathroom door , slowly walked towards her. He slowly stood beside her hands wrapped around her waist. She got startled and blushed . Veer made her face towards the mirror – She was standing and behind her holding her was her veer. He winked at her and said “ what do you say about this couple in the mirror?? Will you approve? “ Listening to his words her gaze went down , a smile playing on her lips and she leaned on veer for support. They both exhaled with a smile.

After sometime veer got ready for his college and offered Anu to drop her to school. She gladly accepted. Whole ride she kept gazing her surroundings , her hair was flowing with wind. Her both hands was around veer’s waist holding him in a tight grip because of the speed of the bike. Finally they reached her school. Since he was a passed out senior from the same school , and all very well knew about veer and Anu in the school , the students were not surprised. Veer greeted few teachers too.

While Anu was waiting for him. Meanwhile, a boy was walking towards Anu. Since her back was to the boy she didn’t know. The boy kept a hand on her shoulder, she got startled and turned around to find one of her classmate and a good friend of hers SURAJ . She smiled at him. Veer caught her smiling at someone from his periphery. He bid bye to the teacher and went to them.

He kept his hands around her shoulder and pulled her close and introduce himself to Suraj as Anu best friend. Suraj some what couldn’t digest the fact that Anu had some other male friends too that too this close. Here veer too was glaring at him. He knew him too well. He knew that Suraj somewhat likes her Anu. When he was in the school, he saw him stealing glances without her knowing. He knew the look in Suraj's eyes just like he has in his eyes for Anu. Veer was beyond frustrated but didn’t loose his cool. Suraj felt he was third wheel so he quietly went away or we can say veer made him left .

He turned Anu to face him and told her to concentrate on studies since exams are coming and advised her not to waste too much time on wrong fellows. He went from there but not after kissing her forehead .

Anu couldn’t understand the situation , stood confused and later went inside the school mumbling to herself “what just happened!!why the sudden change?”

Both Anu and veer got involved in their classes and soon anu’s last class bell rings indicating that she is off for that day.

Here Anu was waiting for veer to pick her up since he promised her that he will come by . Anu was chatting with her friends when Suraj came towards her. After seeing him, she bid her friends bye and started talking with. In her section, Suraj was considered to be the most handsome boy and Anu the most beautiful girl. They were chatting whole-heartedly, unknown to them a pair of angry eyes were throwing daggers at Suraj. That unknown person was none other than veer. He hastily come towards Anu and snatched her hand from Suraj who was holding her hand in his. He tried to punch Suraj when Anu stopped him when Anu stopped him . He angrily snatched his hand from Anu and dragged her away from the scene leaving a confused Suraj behind.

What Anu and Suraj both don’t know that veer was burning with jealousy. With anus sweet nature innocent looks and top of that she cant say no to anybody and not to start with looks, anybody’s heart could easily melt. He was angry at Anu for allowing Suraj to hold her hand, angry at himself why he came late there and moreover frustrated with himself that why he was behaving that way. He knew he like Anu but to what extent?? Doe he like Anu or its more than like? He is sure he cant see Anu with anyone . Why this sudden possessive behaviour? Is it like or love? And that’s where he stopped his thoughts to wander more. The speed with which the thought of love came to him , it vanishes away with that same speed also. He suddenly got scared of his own thoughts. He looked at Anu from his periphery worried that she might have listened to his thoughts. But the look of confusion on anu’s face relieved him. He stopped and turned towards Anu who was dragging herself behind him. She was confused, angry, embarrassed about the incident. Confused about why veer suddenly went to hit Suraj, angry that why veer has to drag her and embarrassed about what would Suraj think. The moment veer stopped and turned her towards him, she started hitting him with her tiny fist and hurling questions to him about his deed.

Veer ,on the other hand, stand still, taking all the accusations thrown on him. He knew his tigresses will be like this only. He also knew how to cool her but since its school he his tongue tied. He stood quietly listening to her and roaming his eyes here and there to see if anyone is noticing them. After few more minutes , and only when his tigresses become tired of shouting ,he slowly pulled her towards him by her hand and put a strand of her hair beside her ears which was disturbing his view. Her breathe caught in her throat. Seeing her reaction he smirked and slightly pulled away. Sensing the distance she looked upward and met with the serious face of veer. She understood now she was in for a lecture. Now its her turn to keep numb. Veer was enjoying seeing her scared face. He knew she was surrendering herself and preparing herself for the lecture he was about to give. Long forgotten Suraj and the embarrassing moment . He burst out laughing. Hearing that Anu whipped her face up with bewilderment . But veer keeps laughing. Slowly it turned to chuckle and then pulled Anu into a side hug , shook his head and went to his bike, mentally noting that he will handle Suraj later.

Unknown to them , Suraj saw all this and his heart dropped to the pit of his stomach. He looked somehow sad about the fact that veer and Anu was this much close. He somewhere wanted Anu to become his girlfriend. He was waiting for the right time to pro
