I’ve got nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide. And I’ve just slept with her fiance.  I press my body against the rocky cliff, trying to stay hidden, but it’s no use. Lucas isn’t offering any help to me, he’s just standing there like a mindless zombie.  My whole body freezes up as she turns in my direction, and I’m sure this is it. This is the end. If she sees me here, she will murder me on the spot. There are no witnesses to slow her down this time.  I’m holding my breath, wishing I could just disappear, wondering if this is where I meet my fate.  Then, just as her cursed eyes are about to settle on me, an ear-piercing screech rings through the air.
