Chapter 22
Maria's POV:
Returning back to London felt great. After saying my goodbyes to my mother, I went back to my father who welcomed me with open arms. I waited so long to see him again and he looked exactly the same.
“How's my girl?” He asked as motioned one of the servants to take my suitcases inside my room. I rested in the living room for several minutes and spoke to him about my journey.
“Paris sounds amazing,” My father said.
“Have you been there?”
“Several times but just for business meetings, I wasn't able to tour around like you did.” He replied in a sad tone. He narrowed down his eyes and played around with the glass of water in his hands. “You should probably go get some rest,” He added after a moment.
