Alexander's Pov

“So that's for today ladies and gentlemen we will discuss this matter later. The meeting is over.” I said and took my seat.

I watched as they all left from here to resume their work.

Loosening my tie I let out a sigh. Today was hectic back to back meetings as soon we will fill for a big contract. Everyone in the office is working their ass off.

Because they know once we are done with it they will get a break. I don't believe in the toxic work culture which humans are following nowadays.

In my company I have humans and immortals both. They work together and stay together without any problems.

The council had problems with that as well but I didn't let them interfere there. For that many of them are not pleased with me but they have to understand I'm not sitting here to please anyone.

“Sir, your lunch box came.” the security guard said and handed me my lunch over.

“Thank you,” I thanked him and he left from there.

Enrique knocked on the door and entered with his lunch. We eat our lunch together most of the time if he has nothing else to do.

“So Evelyn sent food for you today. Let's see what she made.” Saying he opened the lunch box even before I Could say anything.

He is more excited about it than me as well. I shook my head at his childishness. He is 25 yet has no seriousness about other things.

“Wow! It's a feast. I am having some from your box as well.” He said as he opened the boxes and the first thing which made my senses dance was the smell.

You can tell how the food is going to be with just the smell.

I took a bite of the roll and it's exactly how I like it. It seems she is going to be permanently hired to cook food for me until I find my mate because after she is with me no matter how bad she is in cooking still I will eat only from her hands.

We both finished the lunch and I am for the first time after a long period of time is waiting for the dinner.

After finishing my day I went back to my villa where only I stay.

Katherine visits with Henry sometimes and so does my mom and dad.

As soon as I opened the door a smell hit my nostrils so hard that I stumbled back a few steps. The smell is very faint as if non-existent but it's there.

Sweet cupcakes with a hint of strawberry. Delicious.

My Lycan Aleric stirred inside me but didn't comment on it.

Maybe it's the new room freshener or something. This smell is nice!

No one is here as I like. It's my wish that when I'm back home only my mate should be waiting for me, no one else. Until I find her, I prefer an empty house because it will remind me about the absence of hers from my life.

“As if I'm not here to remind you, human.” Aleric said and rolled his eyes.

This Lycan has some problems with me which are serious because he always does this. Mostly the reason is our mate's absence. Maybe it's driving him crazy just like me.

I shook my head and freshened up. The dinner is kept inside microwave safe bowls so I can reheat the food easily.

I ate peacefully and for the first time it felt like maybe I'm not alone eating it. My mate is with me. I sound really absurd at this point but that's what I felt.

“Just ways to make a fool of yourself and hide your failure.” Aleric commented and again vanished.

This Lycan ugh! Why does he need to comment like this all the time as if I am not searching for her purposefully? I have searched her everywhere even checked the Omegas but none of them were my mate.

Even though I was sad, the food kept me feeling good.

When I was about to sleep my mother called me. She calls me everyday without fail. Being a vampire she doesn't sleep but to give father company she lays down with him.

While talking to her I felt as if something was wrong.

“Mom, is everything fine?” I asked her.

“The coven wants to know how long are you going to wait for your real mate? They are suggesting a chosen mate again. I don't know how to reply to them anymore.” she said hesitantly knowing we'll my reaction won't be good.

“I will never take any chosen mate mom. Tell them that. If you want to talk about it then bye. Good night.”I said and hung up the call.

Where are you mate? How long are you planning to hide from me? I have searched you everywhere I could know where I should go now?

Please Moon Goddess send her back to me or else I will die like this.
