Chapter 13

Enrique's Pov

“Is he fine? Why did you all go alone without any security?” I asked Katherine as soon as I reached the hospital.

Because I'm damn sure it must be her idea to go out without any security. Alpha knows better than that.

“It was his decision to not take any security Beta Enrique. You can't accuse my mate for something she didn't do.” Henry came for her defense.

“I am not blaming or accusing Katherine Henry. I am asking her because normally all kinds of mischievous stuff are done by her and this time I felt it was her decision.” I told him calmly which I'm not actually not at this time.

“Enrique calm down. I am sure Princess Katherine didn't do it and whatever happened that was not intentional.” Zara tried to calm me down but how can I stay calm?

My best friend is struggling to survive there and I should be calm? Even though he is my Alpha he is my best friend as well. He can't leave us alone like this. Not when he didn't even find his mate whom he was searching like a mad man.

“We were just going to have fun. I don't know how it happened. Who informed those men that we are out. I just want my brother to be fine, that's it. I didn't do anything Enrique.” Katherine said while crying.

I guess I was too harsh on her.

“I am sorry, I just couldn't digest It.” I apologized to her.

“Mom, Dad!” she shouted and ran towards her parents.

Our former Alpha and Luna are here. Obviously they will be as their son is in this condition.

I bow in front of them but they care less about it right now.

“How is our son? What's the update? How did this happen? What were you doing Enrique? As his Beta his safety is your responsibility. Why were you not informed about it?” his father asked me.

“It's not his fault dad. I wanted to go to a club with Henry and Alex and in between this incident happened.” Katherine said while sobbing before I could respond to his question.

“Alpha is out of danger now. After sometime you can meet him. He was infected with a deadly venom but we got the antidote on time and he is recovering. His Lycan might sleep for a while but he will be fine as well.” the nurse informed us and we sighed in relief.

Thank the Moon Goddess who saved him.

“Can you give me a sample of the venom? I need to investigate the matter and find out who wants to kill our Alpha.” I told the nurse who nodded in positive answer.

After some time we were allowed to meet him and obviously first his parents and Katherine went to visit him then I and Zara entered.

He was looking so weak as if life was sucked out of him. I won't leave the person who is behind it.

“I am not dying Enrique not before I find my mate. Without meeting her mating with her and producing pups I'm not dying.” He joked once I was alone with him.

“I was scared to death Alpha.” I told him.

“Find out who did it Enrique. Because I don't think it's the last time. These attacks will continue on me.” He ordered and I nodded.

“Even if you didn't ordered me I would have done it.” I told him and he smiled weakly.

Third person pov

“I gave you all one work! One bloody work to kill him and you all failed. You bloody fools he survived. He is alive. You can't do one work properly.” a person shouted on those who went to attack Alexander.

“But we did Inject him the venom you provided us. We didn't fail our mission. Injecting him was our duty the rest was on fate.” one of them said and in moment his neck was twisted resulting his death.

“Anyone else wants to argue?” that person asked and others shook their head in no.

“Good! Because here the only person who is right is me. No one else can argue with me.” that person said and others nodded silently.

“You got saved this time Alpha king but there won't be a next time for you. That throne deserves someone like me as the ruler not you. You are a privileged man just because you're a hybrid nothing else. You don't deserve to be what you're Alexander and I will make sure you lose the throne very soon.” that person mumbled which others couldn't hear at all.

“I need an Enchantress. Find one and bring her to me. Now I won't kill him but destroy him completely.” that person said to his soldiers with an evil smile.
