Chapter Forty-Three Trent listened to the mid-morning news on the radio in his van. Pauline Francis and her family had survived what the police were calling an arson attack on their house. He knew he’d try again if Helen wanted her dead, but he was in no hurry. It was time to let the police run around in circles for a while. He was certain there was no way they could connect him to the fire. He’d made sure of that. He changed into a fresh set of clothes and caught the bus into the city, where he ambled through the city centre and bought himself lunch in a sandwich bar on the plaza.
