Chapter Forty-One
Ian Holden accepted the offer of a duty lawyer sitting in on his interview to protect his rights, and Saul Wakefield, who had been on the list for as long as Carl had been in the force, spent fifteen minutes with him before the interview started advising him of his rights.
Carl arrived for the interview with DI Ryan and DC Paterson.
‘Morning, Mr Wakefield,’ said Carl, as he shook hands with the lawyer. ‘Ready?’
‘When you are Inspector.’
DC Paterson switched on the recording equipment and stepped them through the interview protocols.
‘What’s on the table, Mr Holden?’ said Carl. ‘I understand from DI Ryan that you’ve admitted to killing Kurt Viking.’
‘I can give you everyone involved,’ said Ian.
‘Does that include Jack Sloane?’ said Carl.
