Week 5 Beautiful Chaos Chapter 3

2130 Words
CHAOS’S POV I’m not sure how much time has passed when I start to come to, but with the amount of wolfs-bane I have in my system it feels like an eternity. I try to open my eyes but the throbbing pain in my head prohibits me from doing so. It feels as though every fiber of my body is on fire, and at any moment I could burst into flames. Wherever I am, it's humid and hot making the air around me heavy. The surface that I’m chained to is rough and uneven underneath my exposed skin. Most of all, this place reeked of death. “f**k, the dungeons.” I sigh, realizing exactly where I am.. *Syla?* I attempt to reach out to Syla but to no avail, the wolfs-bane affects her way more than myself, so if I’m struggling this much she must be going through hell.  As much as I am mad at her, I love her more than anything, and I hate to think about her suffering in any way.  After some more time lying still, consumed with questions about what happened that night, I decided to make an effort to view my surroundings. I slowly open my eyes and fight  to get my vision back into focus but eventually I prevail. Darkness engulfed every corner of the room, usually that wouldn’t be a problem, but since my wolfie senses are kind of on standby it was more spine-chilling than I could have imagined. I try to speak not noticing how dry my mouth was. It was as if it was pasted closed, no doubt a side effect of the wolfs-bane. As minutes pass I start to feel myself slipping out of consciousness again. As much as I don’t want to close my eyes, the weight of my eyelids seem impossible to hold. I hear a high pitch creak as a small strip of light creeps into the room and begins to grow. I hear loud heavy footsteps coming towards me but I'm unable to speak, unable to move. A large man's figure appeared before me in the dim lighting left from what could only be the cell door, my blurry vision making it impossible to see their features. All I knew for sure was that the power that filled this room contained something wicked. It did not strike fear into me , but instead caused me to be filled with unprecedented loathing. The figure in front of me began to speak but the high pitched ringing in my ears made it impossible  to hear anything other than my own muffled heartbeat. I exhaled one last unsteady breath before surrendering to the darkness. APLHA KING’S POV “Zachary!” I yelled out for my son from my office. “ZACHARY!” “What!” “Have you seen your mother this morning?” “ Last time I saw her she was headed to the garden!” no sooner than the words left his mouth Zach exited the front door to do whatever it is insolent teenagers do. *Connor come to my office please* *On my way!* Before I knew it Conor entered the room, in a much more calm manner than yesterday I might add. “What can I do for you alpha?” “What do I have on my schedule for today?” “You have to assign a new temporary trainer for our warriors until the situation with Chaos is handled. Lane Carter is standing in for her currently but there are still way too many wolves for him to manage and train alone. You also have a conference call today at 12:30 with the head of Cruz Pharmaceuticals about something called Vixenova, and lastly you have a business dinner with Alpha Lucian Silver to renew the treaties between our packs tonight at 7 sharp.” “Is that all?” “Oh I almost forgot, Ms. Ricci’s parents keep calling wanting to know information on her whereabouts and what exactly has happened. “Very well, make a list of our most qualified warriors and inform them of their warrior tests that will start at 6 a.m. Anyone who doesn't arrive on time will be disqualified from the running. As far as Mr. and Mrs. Miro, just leave them to me.” “Of course alpha, do you require anything else from me?” “No, that will be all.” Conner nodded his head before turning on his heels to take his leave. I speedily finished the small stack of paperwork on my desk in anticipation of joining my beautiful mate in the garden. I strolled through the training grounds rather than walking around to reach the garden. When I was no more than 15 feet away from the field i felt a pair of eyes burning into me. I peered around observing the wolves training when my eyes locked with Lane Carter’s.  The frown on his face showed nothing but distaste, and I could feel the anger radiating off of him. Still his face quickly changed to one of a serious expression as he continued training the warriors around him barely acknowledging my existence. It was strange to say the least. The Carter family has served the Black Shadow Army for more than six generations and are held in high regard to our family. Not to mention that in all of that boys 20 years of living, not once have I ever felt anger cast from him in such a fashion.  At last I made it to the garden where my mate sat admiring the flowing fountain decorating the center of the grounds. The peonies and lilies were in perfect bloom, producing a heavy sweet aroma in the air. “What’s this I hear about you having Chaos thrown into a dungeon!”  “Well hello to you too, my love.” I cooed into her neck as I wrapped my arms around her waist. She abruptly spun around until she faced me with a scowl covering her usually charming features. “Don’t you ‘my love’ me! What is wrong with you that child has been though enough without you making her life harder.” A low growl rumbled in my chest knowing that she wasn’t going to let me get out of this conversation so easily. “You were informed of her being put into a cell, so I would assume you also have to know the reason why she was put in there to begin with Persephone.” I say with conviction not backing down from my decision. “Yes I did actually and I probably know more about it than you oh wise one.” she said matter-of-factly My eyebrows furrowed as I gazed upon the smug face she flashed boldly. “And just what the hell does that mean!” I yell out feeling overcome with anger. My hand instinctively seized hold of her arm as she set out to tramp off without another word. “Don’t ever walk away from me!” I snarl out using my alpha command causing her to freeze in place “I said, what the hell does that mean!” My grasp on her arm tightened as the anger in me continued to fester “You can bark and get as angry as you so please, you know that the only words you will ever get from me are the ones I choose to share with you, you tyrant!” Her words left her lips so effortlessly and without a drop of worry or regret. She yanked her arm out of my grasp, putting distance between us. “Don’t forget mate or not, you are disposable to me!” I spat in revulsion before leaving to pay my little friend Chaos a visit. “When was the last dose of wolfsbane administered to her?” I questioned the guards stationed outside of her cell. “Three hours since alpha. She woke up not long ago but I don’t suspect she will be conscious for long.” One of the guards unlocked the cell door to permit me entrance, and there she was. Chained to the wall in the same dress that she wore the night before that was now covered in dirt and debri. I slowly approached her, though it didn’t seem like she was focused enough to see who I was anyways. “Tsk Tsk, What a predicament you’ve found yourself in Ms.Ricci.” I titter imagining the future I can ensure with her powers. Chaos let out one last heavy breath before falling unconscious again. “If only your naive parents would have listened to me years ago, then it might not have to be this way. Nonetheless, I will make sure to enjoy your suffering every step of the way.” He smiled widely fantasizing about the havoc he intends to unleash on the world. “In due time doll, in due time.” I exited the cell and advised the guards to lower her dosage of wolfs-bane. I want her weak but coherent enough to communicate with her enchanted wolf. If my plan is to work, I need to get through to someone she trusts, or in my case create someone she can trust.   LANE’S POV “Lane!” “What!”  “Dude are you okay?” I turn back around to see my class of warriors all staring at me, the same questioning look on each face. “You got all weird and tense once the alpha showed up, everyone could feel it bro.” I stared at the wolves stationed in front of me, feeling more irritable by the second. “Get back to your positions, I want to see nothing but immaculate offensive combat! Let’s go!” I roared out. Everyone stood still unsure of what to do for a half a second before continuing their training. “Geez chill bro.” the laid back voice of Ulises sounded out from the left side of me. “It’s about Chaos huh? You guys are friends, I knew it!” He boasted proudly “I’m fine, and no you were not right. As I already explained before, we just train together!” I snapped having a hard time keeping my composure. Ulises glanced at me with one more look of dissatisfaction before groaning in defeat. “Whatever you say mate. If you want to get anything off your chest, you know where to find me  *You need to get it together Lane!* *Don’t you start too! I’m fine* *I am equally a part of you as you are of me, i***t! You can lie to everyone else but that will never work with me* I could feel Coda rolling his eyes at me in aggravation. *Just don’t do anything stupid Lane! If you truly care about her then respect her wishes* As much as I hate to admit it, I know Coda is right, but something just feels unsettling. Even if he is choosing to ignore it, Coda knows it too, we can feel it in our soul. CHAOS’S POV I don’t know exactly how long I’ve been down here, but the days are starting to blur together. I miss my adoptive parents and I know they must be worried sick about me. No one has bothered to come in here except for the guards, only to administer the wolfs-bane of course. These four walls feel like they are closing in on me, and it’s only a certain amount of time before it surely drives me insane. I don’t even have my wolf to seek comfort right now, just my never ending thoughts. I’ve felt Syl stirring lately, but no words have been spoken from her ,leaving  mine only falling upon deaf ears.  *It’s good to know that you missed me* The voice that played in my head almost caused me to shriek in excitement. *Syl* *The one and only* She replied weakly but happily none the less. *Are you okay?* *I mean our blood is practically made of wolfs-bane right now so there’s that* she joked with a light chuckle *Yeah, dumb question I guess* My mind fell to silence drawing the only thought left in it, to the surface* *What are we Syla?* Syla responded with a soft low purr,  *This may take a while*
