*Okay Chaos I need to to close your eyes and completely clear your mind, there’s something that I need to show you*
She complied without hesitation eager to get answers to all the questions that have taken residence in her mind. Syla began to talk in a faint comforting tone seemingly pulling Chaos into a trance like state.
4’000 years ago, the moon goddess roamed the earth in flesh. Back then she wasn’t known as just the ‘moon goddess’, but as Everessence Goddess of the moon.
Flashback
“M’lady.” The tall man before me curtsied with politeness and a smile that warmed the air around us .
“Oh Allistar! You startled me.” I slightly jumped upon the surprise of his arrival.
“Sorry M’lady , I have a message from Polenthis of the Mirrion Kingdom.”
He gently bowed forward presenting me with a pristine parchment tied with a delicate purple lace ribbon.
“Leader of the Oracles? I wonder what could be of such concern that he would send a parchment so abruptly.”
“I’m unsure m’lady.”
“Thank you Allister.” I smiled gently at him as he bowed one last time before departing my chambers.
I slowly rose from the pew at the end of my bed that I had been sitting on and walked to the stone table in the far corner of my living quarters. I gingerly ran my fingers along the parchment roll until I reached the beautiful ribbon that held it in place. I slipped the ribbon off and began to uncoil the paper until it lay smoothly on the table in front of me.
“ I request the presence of Everessence goddess of the moon to discuss a harrowing matter that leaves existence as we know it, in great question.”
My eyebrows furrowed as I meticulously read the parchment over again. Whatever Polenthis wanted to discuss must have been of grave importance for him to reach out with such words of despair. Not wanting to waste a second more, I quickly closed my eyes envisioning the Mirrion Kingdom, arriving there just moments later. I walked to the gates of the kingdom before being approached by an older looking man. He strode slowly with a walking stick firmly planted in his right hand. His hair was a mix of black, gray and white and his eyes a worldly green.
“Pardon me, I’m here in response to a message I received from Polenthis Haro requesting my presence..”
The man surveyed me rigorously before showing a grin that radiated warmth.
“He has been expecting you.” he spoke softly as he led me through the gates of the kingdom.
After a few moments of walking , we reached a distant hut-like structure that sat separately from the other houses that littered the land.
The older man slowly opened the door to the hut ensuriing that he made as little noise as possible. The inside consisted of one singular room that appeared empty other than a few candles that had melted significantly and a white haired man seated in the middle of the floor deep in what seemed to be some kind of meditation. The oracle that guided me, ushered me to take a seat beside the meditating man before giving me a final smile before exiting the hut,
leaving us in complete silence.
"Everessence." He spoke calmly without so much as glancing in my direction,.
"I came as you asked Polenthis, how can I be of service?" Polenthis exhaled a long exhausted breath before taking both of my hands in his. The world around me fell silent, no more birds or wind, laughter or the bustle of people in the streets. Just mind numbing stillness. As rapid as the silence had come , it also began to disappear filling the air with shrill screams that seemed to surround us. Soon I could see the world around me and I was filled with agonizing terror.
My children being slaughtered without mercy. Mothers and wives grieving their fallen sons and husbands. Hundreds of warriors fighting for their lives and for the other wolves around them. daunting charcoal colored flames engulfed homes and beautiful land for as far as the eye could see. In the distance I could see a large brown wolf brimming with power. It's eyes, a skin crawling red and soot color that contrasted with the brightness of it's fur. You could say they almost appeared soul-less.
The world and destruction that played in front of me suddenly became nothing more than a blurred image prior to once again finding myself in the desolate hut with Polenthis.
"I-I don't understand." I stumbled over my words as my body shook with fear and anger.
"In years to come, some of your children will betray you and their brethren for the sake of power and greed.
There are no words adequate enough to describe the dread I felt for the impending war that would devastate all of my children and the world as they know it. The only thing that I'm sure of is that I must prevent this from happening at all costs.
"There will be a wolf-" He began speaking as if he knew exactly what I was thinking.
"In exactly 1,456,298 moons an exceptional wolf will be produced. There are some courses of life that even as a goddess, you can't prevent from taking place, but there is always space for new paths and evolving fate to occur.
I exhale deeply feeling overwhelmed and confused by the information that I've just received.
"I don't understand." I could do nothing about the look of indignation that rested upon my face as I try to make sense of what Polenthis is attempting to explain to me.
"When one of your children is conceived, who is the first being to know of their existence and what it entails?" He slightly popped one eye open and studied my face as I prepared my answer.
"Well I do?" It comes out like more of a question than an actual answer even though I know it to be true
"Exactly, so if a wolf of exceptional natural abilities were born you would be the very first to know."
I nod my head in understanding though I still don't know how this has anything to do with, or fixes anything.
"No offense Polenthis but even if a wolf with special natural abilities was born at the time of need I don't see how that could help. That was a bloodbath , pure destruction. I know not of any wolf that would ever be born with such power."
I massage my temples feeling myself growing more frustrated by the second.
"While that may be true in the natural order of things, It is not a goal impossible to achieve."
His cryptic riddles are beginning to make me grow irritated, just spit it out for the love of me already!
"Taking just a fraction of their soul and growing it with the pure force of the moon goddess's powers before returning it to the young pup could do the trick." He spoke nonchalantly.
My eyes widened at the realization of what he was proposing
"A divine wolf! Polenthis you're a genius!" I suddenly feel rejuvenated and full of hope .
I take Polenthis's hands in mine before bowing my head in gratitude.
"I can never repay you for what you have just done for me or my children." My eyes begin to swell with joyful tears not being able to contain the emotions i'm currently feeling.
"Do not misunderstand young goddess, it is not just your children I am helping but all of ours. This threat will be one of the greatest in history and no one will be spared if it is not stopped."
I slid my index fingers under my eyes, catching the tears that finally spilt over.
"Just remember that you will know when it is the right time and the right wolf. Your instincts will lead you in the proper direction. Good luck Everessence, may we meet in another life.
And just like that Polenthis disappeared leaving me alone with just the wisp of air his dis-materialization left behind.
"I vow to stop this prophecy, no matter what it takes.”

3,979 years later
It’s been almost four millennia since Polenthis gave word of the c*****e that is now soon to come. With a world shattering war approaching I thought the best thing for me to do was leave earth. As a goddess there are not many earthly matters I’m permitted to interject in, as it would throw life’s balances off kilter. I meandered the earth portrayed as a human for hundreds of years. Since the beginning of time Gods and Goddesses have always acted like we were the all knowing, superior ones when in actuality we know things that anyone could learn if they took the time to. We may lead intellectually but our emotional depth will always be nothing compared to that of our children. Now I galavant among the stars and the moon in my seraph form, watching the world from afar, admiring its growth and beauty. This is the calm before the storm, because it is now time to do as I promised all those years ago.
A luminous blue orb appeared in front of me, swaying and bobbing in a fluid manner almost as if it was dancing. I gently caressed the orb in the palm of my hands twirling it around intertwining my powers into it’s every fiber.
“I will protect, nurture and share my divinity with you until it is time for you to begin your journey to fulfilling your destiny, my little Syla.
*******
My eyes shoot open with a sharp gasp escaping my lips. My lungs burn more with every pump of air that enters and breaks free from my chest until my labored breathing subsides.
“That was…” my voice trailed off as I replayed what I had just witnessed in my own mind.
*That was our creation little one*
I stay silent, thoughts are flooding my mind yet no words come out of my mouth. When i regain my composure I ask the one question that I need to hear the answer to.
*What are we Syl?*
*We are a divine wolf.*
Before anything else can be said I hear the door of my cell creaking open being followed by blinding light. I attempt to adjust my eyes to the gleam sprawling across the room but it was nearly impossible.
Foot steps approached me in a quickened pace before coming to a halt only meters from me. When I look up my eyes are met with none others than Zachary f*****g King.
“Hello tesoro.” For once his smile wasn’t menacing , but i still couldn’t help but feel uneasy...this couldn’t be good
