Chapter 1
Abby felt drunk even though she hadn't consumed any hard alcoholic drink. Her vision was spinning, and she felt weak. She also started to feel hot. She didn't know what medicine her father mixed into the cocktail drink he had given her earlier. She only sipped a little but the effect was too much. "Come with me to Mr. Suarez's room, Abby. From tonight on, you belong to him because I have sold you to be his wife," Abby heard her father say to her. "No. I don't want to. Don't do this to me, Papa. I'm your daughter," she weakly protested against her father's ill intentions. Abby wanted to resist when her father pulled her out of the party and brought her toward the hotel room near the venue of the party they attended. But she had no strength to stop him. "You're right. You are indeed my child. So you should pay for the years that I have raised you!" Abby's father yelled at her. Her father took her into an empty room and shoved her onto the bed. "Don't leave here. Wait for Mr. Suarez to arrive. I want you to make him happy tonight so that the five million pesos he paid me in exchange for you is worth it." Abby wanted to cry because of what her father did. What kind of father would sell his own child just to have a large amount of money to use for gambling? If she could choose a father, she wouldn't want him to be her father. He was a worthless father. All he did was gamble and beat her and her mother when he ran out of money for gambling. Abby's father is a gambler. All the important things in their house have been sold by her father for his gambling hobby. If her father only had a house to live in, she is sure that he would have long sold their house. Or maybe he already tried to sell their house but couldn't proceed because the house is under her name and not his. "Have mercy on me, Papa. Don't do this to me," Abby pleaded with her father. She tried to get up from the bed and cling to her father's leg, but he just pushed her back onto the bed again. Not content, he kicked her in the side. She winced in pain and curled up slightly. "Be thankful that I sold you to Mr. Suarez and not to the club owned by the person I owe money to. At least with Mr. Suarez, he will be the only one to touch your body. If you were sent to the club, it wouldn't just be ten men feasting on your body! Do what I want if you don't want me to treat you badly!" Abby's father hurriedly left the room when he saw that she could no longer get up from the bed. Even though she felt weak and dizzy, she forced herself to get up from bed while Mr. Suarez was still not there. She would not allow that man to trample on her dignity. Abby managed to escape from the room where her father had taken her. She secretly prayed that Mr. Suarez or his goons wouldn't see her until she reached the elevator. Abby knew Mr. Edgardo Suarez. He was the leader of a gang in their area. He had illegal businesses, which allowed him to afford to pay five million to her father. Mr. Suarez had long been interested in her. When she was only fifteen years old, he already wanted to buy her from her father. Her father never had the chance to sell her because of her mother's strong opposition. Even though her mother was beaten by her father, she fought hard to prevent Abby from being sold to Mr. Suarez. However, last month, his mother died of illness, so there was no longer anyone to stop what his father wanted to do. Abby ran away and left their house when her father tried again to sell her to Mr. Suarez. But earlier, while Abby was waiting for a taxi, she saw her father. To her surprise, he apologized to her and promised that he would change. It was the first time her father apologized to her, so she thought that what he said was true. Even though he had done many hurtful things to her and her mother, whether physical or emotional, she decided to give him a chance to change his life. The appearance of her father was pitiful. He had lost weight and looked like he wasn't eating properly. She decided to bring him along to the birthday party she was going to attend. The birthday celebrant was well-off and used to be her customer when she worked part-time at a salon. Abby became close to that customer, which is why she was given an invitation to her customer's debut party. Surely, there would be plenty of delicious food prepared at the party, so her father could eat well. However, Abby did not expect that her father secretly mixed medicine into the cocktail drink he requested from a passing waiter and handed it to her. This allowed him to take her to the hotel where they were now without any difficulty. "Dante's daughter is escaping, boss!" Abby felt a surge of panic when she heard the voice of one of Mr. Suarez's men. She was already in front of the elevator, but it had not opened yet. "What are you waiting for? Chase her! Hurry! Bring her back to me right now!" Mr. Suarez commanded his men firmly. Abby's panic intensified when she saw Mr. Suarez's goons running toward her. As soon as the elevator opened, she quickly stepped inside and pressed the close button. Just as the goons chasing her reached the elevator, the doors fully closed. Abby got out of the hotel safely. However, she has not completely escaped from those pursuing her because they immediately followed her. Even though her body wanted to give up, she forced herself to run on the street to seek help. If she faints now, she is sure that Mr. Suarez's goons will catch up with her and bring her back to the hotel room. That lustful man would succeed in his plan for her. But she would rather die than fall into that man's hands. "There she is! Let's chase her!" The goons chasing Abby saw her. Her body was exhausted from running, but she had no intention of stopping. She suddenly felt hopeful when she saw a man standing by the roadside. He was talking on his cell phone and seemed to be waiting for someone. It seemed the man sensed her presence, so he looked in her direction. She tried to reach him. And just as she was right in front of him, her knees suddenly gave way. Fortunately, he caught her, preventing her from falling onto the cement. "H-Help me. S-Save me from t-them." That was all Abby managed to say before she completely lost consciousness in the arms of the stranger who had caught her. When Abby regained consciousness, she almost screamed upon realizing she was in an unfamiliar room. She was lying naked on a bed and next to her was a half-naked stranger. Abby's eyes widened as she remembered what happened the previous night. She recalled escaping from the room her father had brought her to and being chased by Mr. Suarez's men. Her eyes widened even more when she remembered regaining consciousness last night and signing a marriage contract with the man who saved her. The last thing she remembered before falling asleep was becoming aggressive, leading to something happening between her and the man beside her. She wanted to curse herself as she remembered everything that happened. She couldn't blame the man because he saved her last night. He also tried to stop her several times, but she begged him to make love to her, so he couldn't resist himself and gave in to her request, so they shared a hot night. Abby carefully got out of bed and picked up her clothes scattered below the bed one by one. After putting on her clothes, she glanced again at the man who was still sound asleep. She secretly thanked him for saving her and apologized because she couldn't fulfill whatever was written in the marriage contract they signed last night. She wasn't in the right state of mind last night, so she just signed that marriage contract. After giving the man one last glance, she hurriedly left the room. She decided to just forget what happened between the two of them. She was sure that they wouldn't see each other again.
