School
It took a while for me to finally gain consciousness, and as I did, I immediately hoped I hadn't. I felt nauseous and when I sat up, I wanted to lay back down. An urge to throw up threw me out of the bed. Stumbling into the bathroom, I puked my guts out. I felt way better after, but a headache grew within me that I couldn't deal with at the moment as I had to head out to school. I threw some painkillers in my mouth and swallowed. I felt my face contort in disgust as it dissolved unapologetically in my mouth and dashed out the door, dragging my book bag on the ground behind me.      I was already a whole hour late to school, so I gave up running and walked to one of the automated robotic-car stations. It zoomed in within a few seconds. Tossing in my bag, I catapulted myself into the passenger seat with my bag, and clung onto it like a koala as the automated door slammed shut after me, and we flew off to school. I tried to settle down next to my bag, instead of on top of it, but I had already reached school. I slammed my student I.D. into the register and leaped out of the car. This time I ran. It was already the middle of second period, so I ran to my locker and got what I needed before tumbling up the stairs to my class.      As I barged into class, I slipped and tripped on the classroom door and flew towards a classmate. I knocked her out of her desk--and her desk--and myself. The teacher screamed obscenities, but I wasn't paying attention until she dropped a pink slip in front of my face. Great. Debbie was already mad at me when I showed up to her house late yesterday, after school. Though, now I have after school detention, which will make me a whole 3 hours late to her house--3 hours and 7 minutes, if you count travel time. Last time I was only half an hour late. I bet she's still fuming about it. She didn't do her half of the project for that day because she wouldn't stop yelling until I left.      I stood up with the detention slip in my hand and reached over to help the other student out, but she was knocked out. She was gone and nothing was waking her up. I panicked. The teacher let out a shriek and I was handed a second pink slip and I completely forgot about the unresponsive student. Now I was gonna be 6 hours and seven minutes late. That's way worse that the previous 3 hours. I picked up her desk and sat there, seeing as she wouldn't do so herself. The rest of the period went by fine and lunch had already rolled in.      Lunchtime signified that half the day had already gone by, for most of these students. Yet to me, I still had a while to go. I ate and rushed to find Debbie and explained that I probably wouldn't make it today. Debbie freaked out.     "You should have been more careful! My grade is on the line now because you f**ked up, now-!"     "I'm sorry-"     "Oh you're 'sorry'?"  She used her stupid fingers to create invisible visible quotation marks around "sorry." "You were late yesterday-!"     "Only by half an hour-!" I tried to prove a point but she wouldn't let me.     "So?! That does not change the fact that you were late!"     "But I told you I needed to take care of my neighbour's goldfish's dog's turtle's aunt's pet giraffe's niece! I gave you a head's up before. I still made it and finished my work for the project while you spent the time yelling at me!-"     She waved her hand. "Whatever."     "I can't skip out on detention again. Or I'll just get another slip and I may be later," I said, exhausted with her.     "Fine! You know what?! Just don't show up at all!" and with that, she stomped off.     Sometimes I think our teachers set us up for this project on purpose, just because they hated us. Jokes on them, we hated them just as much. The feelings were mutual.
