Why?

'He's back...' I whispered and then everything went black.

Jakes POV

What the f**k just happened. The prince is trying to steal my mate and he is the reason she doesn't trust me. I can't describe how angry I am right now.

I'm too consumed in my thoughts to when I come back to reality my precious mate is lying on the floor unconscious.

'What happened!' I scream at the people around me. They all just shrugged until Micheal said

'She just said he's back then she fainted.' I growled at the thought of that piece of s**t is trying to steal my mate. It also made me feel sad that a man that coursed so much suffering is still alive. I want to rip his head off. But right now my priority is my beautiful mate. I picked her up and ran as fast as I could inside the house. 'I need a doctor!' I screamed as loud as my body would let me. Not long after are pack doctor came running in. 'What happened alpha.' Asked a worried doctor looking at my unconscious mate. 'She was telling us something and then fainted.' I told him. 'Take her to one of the rooms I need to run some tests.' He said sternly. I nodded and ran to one of the rooms, careful not to hit her as I ran. A couple of minutes past and I was becoming impatient waiting. I was about to say something when the doctor walked in with his medical stuff. 'Alpha you may want to leave while I run some tests.' He said. 'NO! I will not leave my mate!' I yelled cording him to jump a bit in suprise. 'I'm sorry, I'm just worried.' I said after a second and hung my head low. I just want to know what was wrong with her, I'm so scared right now. 'I'll leave doc.'

After what felt like forever the doctor came out of the room and said 'alpha she is exhausted and fainted due to that with the extra addition of anxiety and panic. I'm sorry I don't know when she'll wake up but it should be soon.' With that he left. I stood up and walked into her room and grabbed a chair and put it next to her bed and sat down. I took her cold hand in mine and just sat there thinking. Thinking of everything that i miss about her. Thinking what I'd do if she doesn't wake up but I know she will. Because doc said it was exhaustion. She will. I know she will. It's only a matter of time. I'll wait right here until she does. Nothing can take me away.

*A week later*

I've been sat here for a week. A god damn week. She hasn't even flinched. The only way I know she is alive is the slow rise and fall of her chest and the beeping of the machine. I haven't left her side, no matter what Matt, Michael or any of the others have said. I will not leave my mate. Not unlit she wakes up.

I've been staring at her for about 20 minuets now, just holding her hand when the heart monitor started to speed up. I felt her hand twitch and her eyes started to open. 'That's is beautiful open your eyes. Come on beautiful I need you.' After that she started to move and opened her eyes fully. 'Ja-jake what's going on?' She said in a really raspy voice. 'Scar you fainted a week ago after telling about him.' After I said that a look of horror washed over her face. 'Hey, hey beautiful calm down. Your safe. No one will get to you. I promise.' I cooed into her ear hoping to calm her down. After a couple of minutes of rubbing her back comforting her she calmed down and looked up into my eyes and said 'Jake I'm so scared. I don't think I could go through it again. I never want to go there again.' It came out as no more than a whisper. I pulled her closer to my chest and just hugged her. 'I promise I'll protect you beautiful. I love you.' 'I lo-love you too Jake.' When she said that I felt like a million fire works went off. She's loves me. I was broken out of my thoughts by Scar giggling. 'Why are you giggling?' I questioned. 'Don't you think you should get the doctor?' She said giggling again. 'Oh right yeah.. umm I'll go do that.. also you have a really cute giggle.' Once I said that I saw her face start to go red and I chuckled to myself. I turned around and walked towards the door to get the doctor.

I returned minuets later with the doctor to run the tests. He did all the tests he needed to do and left said that everything look okay but he wanted to keep her in over night. I walked back into her room and sat down on the chair again. 'Jake?' 'Yes beautiful.' 'When was the last time you wasted? You stink. You also look like s**t, it looks like you haven't slept or eaten in days.' She said while giggling. 'Well I refused to leave you so... not in like a week or so..' I muttered the end hoping she didn't hear, but she did and she burst out laughing. 'Plea-please g-go and sho-shower. You smell awful.' Scar said in-between laughing. 'I will on one condition. You'll be here when I get back.' 'Of corse I will silly.' 'Okay okay I'll go shower. But I'll be back in like half an hour. Okay?' 'Okay.' With that I turned around and walked off towards my room.

I walked into my bathroom and turned on the shower. I stripped my clothes off and stepped into the shower. I rinsed my hair and used body wash to make myself smell good again. Once I was done I turned the shower off and grabbed a towel. I walked back into my room then into my closet. I grabbed black jeans, underwear and a shirt. I quickly put it on and put my shoes on. I looked at my watch. Wow I'd been in the shower for 40 minuets I need to get back to Scar, I said 30 minuets to her.

I was making my way back to her room when I got the feeling something wasn't right. My wolf also had that feeling. He seem to be sad, really sad. I opened the door and stopped dead in my tracks. An open window, an empty bed. 'WHERE IS SCARLETT! WHERE IS MY MATE!'
