Chapter one - Perfect life
Abby's POV: Hello, I am Abby. I have a boyfriend named Luke. Everything has been perfect since I moved to live with him. We met in high school. Since then, we have been inseparable. The biggest problem is that my parents don't like him. Maybe I should say he is not dad-approved. In the beginning, I tried to understand why. After some time, I decided to give up. There was no point. I haven't talked to my parents for years. Mom calls me for my birthday, but that's it. She wants us to make up things, but that won't happen. I mean, not until my dad accepts my boyfriend. No matter what he thinks about him, I am not leaving Luke. He had a lot of problems with his parents. That's why I am here, to help him. I have to say that since he is not an assistant anymore, people look at him differently. No one expected a boy who had never been to university to know so much. My boyfriend is a fast learner. He can learn something for five minutes. I'm glad that now we split the chores. Before, he was doing everything alone. According to him, I had to focus on my studies. Now, I help him with everything I can. It's enough that he goes to work every day. I can cook as well. Maybe I am not a professional cook, but I am doing well. Sometimes, we struggle, but it's not that often. In the beginning, we had only his grandparents' money. Now both of us are working. I am still in the same company. I can change it if I want, but I'm good. There is no need for that. I have a good salary here. Also, the people with who I work are nice to me. We have been through a lot of things, but we learned a lot of lessons. I'm glad that he is with me every day. Luke is the only thing I have now. I am so happy that we managed to be where we are today. We deserve it. I hope that from now on, everything will be peaceful. It's the weekend. None of us has plans, so we can go out and do something. Three months ago, a new family came into the neighborhood. They are our new friends. The people are only three years older than us. We talk about everything and even have dinner together. The only thing we were changing was the houses. The family who owned the house before moved to another town. The initial price of it was one hundred thousand dollars. The final one went to eighty thousand. It's not that big. Neither is in perfect condition. Of course, the new family has changed some things. When Luke had free time, he helped them. The boys were working while the girls were talking. I woke up and checked the clock. It was only 8 am. I have to make breakfast, but it will be later. I turned around to see my boyfriend sleeping. Call me crazy, but I am melting around him. Perfect people shouldn't exist. I guess that is a lie. This boy is everything I need. I don't care what my parents think. I love him, and I won't give up on him. I slightly rubbed his cheek and snuggled. Soon, I felt a soft kiss on the top of my head. This is what I call paradise. - Good morning. - To you too. - How was your sleep? - Perfect. After all, you are here. - No matter that you say this daily, I still love hearing it. - Great, because I won't stop saying it. - What do you want us to do today? Any ideas? - No, but we can go out. The weather is nice. - If you don't mind, we can invite our friends. - I would love it. - Great. Now, if you excuse me, I will go and make breakfast. - No, I will make it. - You made it last Saturday. Now it's my turn. - That won't happen. - I said and grabbed his hands - What are you doing? - Like asked, laughing - Keeping you close to me. - I never said that I would leave. - I know, but I want to be sure. - You are crazy but have the luck that I love you. - Don't you think that I don't know this? That's why I act like a baby all the time. I know you love taking care of me. - Yes, I do. It's one of my favorite things. - Then why are you complaining? - I never said I was. - If you say so. After fifteen minutes of fighting, I left him to make breakfast. Our fights are usually Luke tickling me. He knows that I can't last long. This is not something I like because that way, he gets everything he wants. When the food was ready, we sat down to eat. I have to say that he learned how to cook. I am impressed by his skills. That's why I keep saying he is perfect. To all the single ladies out there, get a man ready to give his life for you. That's how you know he is worth it. We got ready and went to check on our friends. Maybe we can leave them to make plans. I knocked on the door, but no one opened it. Then, I used the bell. Soon, Loren came. - Oh, hey. What are you doing here? - We came to check on you. Luke and I want to go out. Will you and Jason come with us? - Thanks, but we can't. Maybe the next time. - Did something happen? We can help. - No need to. Go where you want. - Loren, you can tell us everything. What is the problem? - The sink in the bathroom is leaking. When we woke up, the whole floor was wet. - It's not something hard to repair. Well, it depends on the problem. Luke, will you help Jason? - With pleasure. - Ok, Loren, get ready. While these two take care of the sink, we can go out. - I don't know. I want to help them. - None of us understand these things. I don't think we can help them. - Ok, ok. Come in. I have to get ready. - Where is Jason? - Luke said - In the bathroom. Be careful. He is mad. - Don't worry. I will take care of him. Loren and I walked out. I suggested going shopping and then having some lunch. We went to a couple of stores. I don't have anything to buy. Well, it might make her feel better. I know she is worried, but none of us can do anything. Also, there is another problem. She and Jason want a kid, but it's not working. Once, she told me that they had tried at least twenty times in five months. Except for the feeling, nothing else happened. I'm sure they will have one. The question is when. We shopped for a while. When we walked into the restaurant, it was 1 pm. It's a perfect time for lunch. Hopefully, the boys will eat as well. Loren and I ordered our food, and soon, it came. - Do you have plans? - Loren asked - Plans for what? - Your anniversary with Luke is next week. What will you give him? Well, apart from the obvious. - What is obvious? - The same as what Jason and I have been doing for months. The difference is that we want to have results. - Hey, that will happen. I promise you. - I am almost twenty-eight. How long do I have to wait? - I don't want to stress you, but have you been to the doctor? - Why? I don't have problems. - That's what you think. Since you can't get pregnant, you might have a problem. If everything is ok, the doctor will tell you what you can do to speed up the process. - I'm scared. - If you want, I can come with you. Well, I think Jason has to be next to you. - Mom had a difficult pregnancy. I came out at the beginning of the eighth month. The doctor barely saved me. I was supposed to die. My body wasn't strong enough, and I was a skinny baby. - Is this why you are scared? - I don't want the same thing to happen to me. I can't lose a child. - No one said that this would happen to you. - I don't know. The risk is too big. - That's why you have to visit a doctor. Tell him what you have said to me. - I want it to be a woman. - Ok, that doesn't matter. They know better than us. Now it's Saturday, but you better call on Monday. After all, it's a work day. - I will. Thanks. - You and Jason need to rest. I mean, from trying. Figure out what the problem is. - I want to get pregnant. - I know, but I can't help you. - You didn't tell me anything about the anniversary. - Because I haven't planned anything. We do the same things every day. There is nothing different I can do. - Yes, there is. You two can try for a baby. I bet you will have more luck than us. - Thanks, but none of us wants it. - Why? Don't you want a little kid running around? - Honestly, no. I am happy to be only with him. - Ok, then you can get married. - What? - At least you can make plans. - Loren, I have talked with you about this. We won't do any of these things. - Why? - Because we like our lives the way they are. - You can't be dating forever. - Who said that? - Ok, I won't argue with you. - Thanks. After lunch, Loren and I went to a baby store. I wish I could help her with this, but I can't. She was looking at the boy's clothes. I don't think it matters to her what the gender will be. In the beginning, she told me Jason wanted a boy. Now, both want to have a baby. No matter the gender. I know what it feels like to want something so much but to wait for it. I was patient with my dad to see if he would change his mind about my boyfriend. I have wanted to live with him since he moved out of his parent's house. Honestly, all I wanted was to be there for support. Around 4 pm, we walked back to Loren's house. The boys were drinking beer and laughing. I guess everything is ok. I said it, and I will keep saying it. My boyfriend is perfect. That's why I love him so much. - Hey, boys. - I said - Look who decided to come back. - Luke said, chuckling - How is the sink? - Loren asked - Thanks to our friend, we fixed it for half an hour. - Jason said - What was the problem? - One pipe. You don't have to worry anymore. Everything is fixed. - Thank you. Now I can sleep calmly. - How was your day? I see shopping bags. - I bought something for the kitchen. Also, this is for you. - Where is my present? - Luke asked - In the store. If you pay for it, you can have it. - I said, and Loren laughed - You will see. - Will you stay for dinner with us? We have nothing else to do. - Loren asked - I won't deny the offer. We made the boys prepare dinner. I know Luke can cook. Let's see what Jason will do. I expect them to cook something simple. That doesn't mean it won't be delicious. I love it when my boyfriend cooks for me. After two hours, everything was ready. It looked so good. I'm sure it will taste the same. - Good dinner, boys. It's delicious. - I said - That is what you get. You will cook tomorrow. - Now I miss the time you didn't let me do anything. - That is over, princess. Even Cinderella worked. - Don't compare me with her. I never had such a bad life. - She married a prince. You too. - I am not married. - Yes, but you have a prince. - Where? I don't see him. Only you are here. - Be careful with the words, or you will get it. - Get what? - Wait and see. - Your relationship is perfect. - Loren said - Why? We don't do many things. I mean, we keep doing the same every day. - Yes, but you do it with love. Even cuddling is filled with emotions. - There is no such thing as a perfect person or relationship. - True, but it's perfect for us. Look at Luke. He is not perfect, but he is for you. Right? - Maybe. - I think the same about Jason. We make things perfect. That way, their imperfections won't show up. - I never thought of that. - Because you are busy with other things. - I have a lot of work, but I love it. - The most important thing is what should matter to us, not what others tell us. - Man, we are lucky. - Luke said - I keep reminding myself daily. - Jason said and laughed We stayed with our friends for a while. I'm glad we have someone with who we can talk about everything. They might have some problems, but Loren and Jason are always happy. Hopefully, their wish will come true. They deserve it more than anyone else. I don't want to get pregnant, but my friend does. I'm sure one day this will happen as well. After dinner, we walked home. It was almost 11 pm. I want to go under the covers and never get up until the morning. The other thing that I want is some cuddles. Luke can't say no to this because I know he loves it, too. - It's already bedtime. This day ended fast. - Luke said - Well, some days are like that. - When is your next video? - It's already up. - But you were outside today. - Dear boyfriend, there is something called scheduling. YouTube has this option. I have already filmed and edited the video. I uploaded it and set a day and an hour when it should be visible for everyone. - Sometimes, I forget how smart you are. - Do I need to remind you? - Maybe you can do it now? - Yes, but without results. You know what I mean. - Don't worry. I will be safe. - No need to. - Why? - I have this. - I said and opened the nightstand drawer from my side - Pills? - Yes. When you want to get loose, I will take one. - You know that I love you, right? - I do, but I like hearing it every day. - Do you love me? - More than anything in the world. - Music for my ears. - he said and kissed me - Can we sleep now? - Sure. - Thanks. Goodnight and sweet dreams. I hope you didn't forget about my daily dose of cuddles. - I didn't. You can get them now. - I will, for sure. Soon, I fell asleep. I do this quickly when I am in his arms. It's like magic for my body. No matter what he does, it will always feel good. Even a simple hug is enough to make me feel better. I love this boy more than anything. I don't know what he did, but it was enough to make me fall for him. It started as a game and ended as true love. I will never forget this. He is the best thing that has happened to me since high school. Everything was perfect. Since then, my life has been better. I owe him a lot. Maybe that should be my gift for our anniversary. I can show him how much he means to me. I hope this plan will work.
