Emma's POV.
"Have you seen Daisy anywhere Joseph?"
My voice is filled with concern. It's been an entire morning and she hasn't shown up anywhere.
"I'm sure that she'll turn up any minute now my love. She knows where her home is, she's a clever dog."
Joseph hardly looks at me when he speaks. He's watching some news channel on TV.
His lack of concern for Daisy is really working on my nerves. I know that he isn't exactly her number one fan, but how can he care so little about her safety.
"What do you mean she'll turn up Joseph? She didn't just leave, something must have happened to her."
My voice is shaky and finally Joseph looks at me. His eyes are soft and full of understanding. He comes over and wraps his arms around me, holding me tightly.
