Madeline’s pov Sweat trickled down my back as I placed one foot in front of the other. My bones ached with exhaustion and I breathed heavily. “Are you tired? We can camp out here for the rest of the night and continue tomorrow.” Hunter called out to me but I ignored him. “Madeline,” I heard the annoyance in his voice as he gripped my hand and I turned to him. “We need to keep moving,” I told him and his eyes searched for mine. “You don’t have to push yourself so hard, you know.” He muttered, and my chest rose and fell. “I actually do, but you wouldn’t understand,” I retorted as I tried to wrench my gaze out of his hand, but his grip didn’t let up. My gaze rose and I met Hunter’s gaze. “You have nothing to prove to anyone, Madeline. If you are exhausted, then we’ll rest the night,”
