CARA—-
“I reject you as my mate cara!!”
His words echoed in my ears, causing a cold shiver to run down my spine. His rejection was like a physical blow, leaving me momentarily breathless. My heart ached with a pain that seemed unbearable.
"Alpha, please, I..." I started, my voice barely above a whisper. But I was cut off by his icy stare. His eyes were cold, devoid of any warmth or kindness.
"You're not my Luna, Cara. You're nothing but a maid. And that's all you'll ever be," he spat, his words filled with so much venom that they stung.
Tears welled up in my eyes, blurring my vision. But I blinked them back, refusing to show him my vulnerability. I wouldn't give him the satisfaction.
"But I'm your mate, Alpha Oliver," I pleaded, my voice trembling with the effort to keep my composure. "The Moon Goddess paired us together. We're meant to be."
Oliver scoffed, a cruel smirk playing on his lips. "The Moon Goddess must have been mistaken," he said, his tone mocking. "I don't mate with servants."
His words felt like a knife twisting in my heart. I felt my knees buckle under the weight of his rejection, and I sank to the floor. Alpha Oliver towered over me, his eyes filled with disdain.
"Get out, Cara," he commanded, his voice hard and unyielding. "I won't have you sullying my chambers with your presence."
The room seemed to spin around me, and I felt a lump forming in my throat. But I swallowed it down, forcing myself to stand up. I wouldn't let him see me broken.
"I may be a maid in your eyes,Alpha Oliver," I said, my voice stronger than I felt. "But I am your mate, whether you accept it or not."
Alpha Oliver's face hardened, his eyes becoming even colder. "I'll never accept you, Cara," he said, his voice devoid of any emotion. "Now leave."
I turned on my heel, my heart heavy in my chest. The pain of his rejection was almost too much to bear, but I held my head high as I left his chambers. I wouldn't let him see me crumble.
As I stepped out I saw a few of the maids who were eavesdropping and Alpha Oliver uncle standing at the doorway with a wicked smile.
“I think it’s better you leave now.”he said but I was too shocked to say a word and just walked away, I guess I had gotten the full humiliation Alpha Oliver wanted.
As I walked through the palace corridors, my mind was a whirl of thoughts. I had always dreamed of finding my mate, of finding someone who would love and cherish me. But instead, I had been mated to a cruel and heartless alpha who saw me as nothing more than a lowly servant.
The cold night air hit me as I stepped out of the palace. My steps, though heavy with despair, led me to the nearest bar, a small, somewhat rundown establishment, but it was the perfect place to forget one's sorrows.
As I pushed open the heavy wooden door, the scent of spilt ale and the sound of raucous laughter filled my senses. The dimly lit interior was filled with a motley crew of patrons, each absorbed in their own world.
I made my way to the bar, taking a seat on one of the rickety stools. The bartender, a gruff man with a scar running down his cheek, looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
"What can I get you, miss?" he asked, his voice rough from years of smoking.
"Whiskey," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper. I needed something strong to numb the pain.
As he poured the amber liquid into a glass, I couldn't help but let my mind wander back to Alpha Oliver. I could still feel the sting of his rejection, his harsh words echoing in my mind. But I had to be strong. For myself, for my pack, and for my parents who had sacrificed everything for me.
I took the glass and downed the whiskey in one gulp, the burning liquid scorching my throat but doing little to quench the pain in my heart. I signaled for another, and then another, each glass helping me forget, even if just for a moment.
The hours passed in a blur, the bar growing louder as patrons came and went. I remained in my spot, my thoughts as cloudy as my vision.
I staggered slowly towards the closest door on my path and to my surprise it was opened, Oliver thought he could just try to get his way with me and then abandon me like I was a slave or something of that sort. I was no even more convinced that Oliver was aware of being my mate from the start and that was why he did all those things to get through to me and then once I fell into his trap he rejects me publicly.
“I would make sure to be great in this world so I can come back and take full revenge on them.” I said to myself before drunkily landing on the bed.
As I stumbled into the unfamiliar room, my head was spinning with a mixture of alcohol and emotions. I had sought solace in the bar, hoping to drown my sorrows, but now I found myself in a situation I never expected.
The room was dimly lit, with a faint scent of musky cologne hanging in the air. I could hear the soft sound of music playing in the background, adding to the mysterious atmosphere. As my eyes adjusted to the dim light, I noticed a figure sitting on the edge of the bed.
He turned towards me, his eyes filled with concern and curiosity. His features were a blur, but I could sense the warmth in his gaze. I couldn't help but feel a strange connection, a pull towards him.
"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice soft and gentle. There was a kindness in his tone that I hadn't heard in a long time.
I tried to form words, but my voice failed me. Instead, I nodded, hoping that he would understand. The weight of the world seemed to lift off my shoulders in his presence, even if just for a moment.
He stood up, slowly approaching me with caution, as if afraid to startle me. His hand reached out, his touch feather-light as he brushed a strand of hair away from my face.
"You don't have to tell me anything if you don't want to," he said, his voice filled with empathy. "But if you need someone to listen, I'm here."
His words struck a chord within me. The pain I had been carrying seemed to melt away, replaced by a glimmer of hope. Here was someone who saw me as more than just a servant, someone who wanted to understand.
I found myself drawn towards him, my body moving almost instinctively. As he wrapped his arms around me in a comforting embrace, I felt a sense of safety that I hadn't felt in a long time.
In that moment, I allowed myself to forget about the rejection, the pain, and the uncertainty. Instead, I let myself be present, to bask in the warmth of his touch and the solace of his presence.
He was gentle with me as our lips touched gently, he carefully wrapped his hands around my waist as he hugged me even tighter.
But just when I was feeling the heat between us he stopped, he whispered few words to himself while punching the wall aggressively.
“Why did you stop?”I asked sheepishly while playing with the hem of my dress despite how drunk I was I could still see how frustrated he was and I was more than aware that we felt the same connection when he kissed me.
“You are a stranger who just walked in here and I already felt this connection with you which isn't right and most especially you are drunk and lost.” he said to me with his husky voice.
“I am not drunk and I don't want to regret this night by leaving here.” I said
As the room spun around me, I felt a surge of adrenaline coursing through my veins. The intensity of our connection was undeniable, and I couldn't bear the thought of letting it slip away.
With a newfound determination, I closed the distance between us, my lips crashing against his in a passionate kiss. The world around us faded into oblivion as we lost ourselves in the heat of the moment.
His hands roamed my body, igniting a fire within me that I had never experienced before. Every touch, every caress, sent waves of pleasure coursing through my body, erasing any doubts or insecurities.
In that moment, we were no longer strangers. We were two souls, bound by an unbreakable bond, coming together in a whirlwind of desire and longing. The room seemed to ignite with the intensity of our passion, and time stood still as we explored the depths of our connection.
As our bodies entwined, the world outside ceased to exist. It was just us, lost in a sea of ecstasy and love. In that moment, I knew that I had found something truly special, something worth fighting for.
And as the night unfolded, our bodies moving in perfect harmony, I couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, this unexpected encounter was the beginning of a love story that would defy all odds.
But for now, all that mattered was the intoxicating love that consumed us, the undeniable chemistry that bound us together.
