Chapter 13

Veronica's POV

I woke up to hearing Katie throwing up. I got up and walked into the bathroom. She was sitting with her back to our tub. I walked over and sat down pulling her into my arms and rubbing her back. I waited until she caught her breath back. I helped her stand up and she washed her mouth out then I carried her back to bed. She laid down and covered up. Ana turned over and snuggled into Katie and I smiled, giving Katie a kiss.

I walked downstairs and into the kitchen. I turned on our keurig on and poured in more water. I made myself some coffee before starting on breakfast. I know, this was usually Katie's job but she's not feeling so good lately so I'll take over now. I made bacon -lots of bacon- eggs and toast. I fixed plates and went upstairs to wake up my babies.

"Ana. Katie. Wake up. I made food." I said.

Ana jumped up at the word 'food' and held her arms out to me. I picked her up then watched as Katie slowly stood up. We walked downstairs and I made her some coffee after I put Ana in the highchair.

"I heard coffee isn't good for babies." Katie said.

"Oh. Want me to get you something else?" I asked.

"No. Its fine. But later could you run to the store and pick me up some soda for the caffeine?" She asked.

"Yeah sure. Any specific kind?" I asked.

"The one with caffeine." She replied, taking a bite of her toast.

"Ok." I laughed.

"Mm." Ana said as she ate her bacon.

"So Ana. Ar eyou happy your going to be a big sister?" I asked.

"Mm." Ana said looking at me.

"Good. Your gonna be an awesome big sister." I smiled at her.

She grinned and smiled at me. After breakfast, I got Ana ready to go to the store with me. Leaving Katie home to take a much needed nap. We got to the store and I put Ana in a cart.

"Ok. We need to get mommy some soda." I said, walking towards the soda. "What kinds?"

Ana pointed to Dr. Pepper and Cherry Pepsi. I smiled and grabbed them before putting them in the cart.

"Ok. Now we gotta go get any kinds of hot pockets." I read.

We picked p the next few things on the list before walking to the check out. I paid and we walked back out to the car. We stopped at a flower shop and baught Katie some blue roses. Ana held them in the back seat. We got out of the car and I brought Ana in th ehouse and walked her over to Katie.

"Mommy." She said as she looked at her.

"Yeah baby?" Katie asked, not opening her eyes.

"Ers." She said.

Katie looked up and smiled, "Thank you guys."

"Your welcome." I said and Ana nodded.

She picked up Ana and I gave her a kiss as I went to get the groceries and put them away. I pour a Pepsi into a cup and put ice cubes in it before walking back out to Katie. I sat down and handed her the cup and relaxed on the couch with her. Ana ran off to play with her blocks and I wrapped an arm around Katie.

"Are you feeling any better?" I asked her.

"Yeah. Thanks for taking over lately." Katie said.

"No problem. Want me to rub your feet?" I asked.

"Yes please." She said.

"What lotion?" I asked.

"The coconut cream one please." Katie said as she got comfortable.

I found it and walked back over. I squirted some in my hand started to rub her right foot. She sighed and I smiled. When I was done I had her take her shirt of and rubbed her sholders and neck. I glanced up at Ana while I worked a knot out of Katie's neck. She was now adding on to a fortress she buit. No seriously, she took blocks over to a corner in or living room and built walls on both sides. I finished the top 5 layes becase she couldn't reach anymore but she had built a tower. We laid a piece of cardboard over the top so it was like a roof. She liked to make things that stood in front of the tower. Like she had two little block cars on the right wall and what looked like block guns on her front wall. Now she was building more cars.

"Feel good?" I asked.

"Yeah. You can stop now if you want." Katie said.

"No. I'm fine. Really." I told her.

"Okay. I love you." she said.

"I love you too." I smiled.

I went back to rubbing her shoulders and neck and pretty soon I had to get up to make lunch. I sighed and opened a can of spaghetti o's for Ana and put them in the microwave then went and made Katie her peanut butter and banana sandwich. I brought my girls their food and watched as Ana broght over a tiny chair that had come with a table. She sat down at the coffee table and ate.

"Aren't you hungry?" Katie asked me.

"No. Not really." I told her.

"Oh." She said then finished her sandwich, "Wanna make me another one?"

"Of course I will." I smiled and kissed her head.

I went out and made her annother sandwich and was thankful I grabbed bananas at the store. Cause we would definatly need more of them. I walked back out into the living room and gave her her sandwich. Then the door opened and we all looked over. It was my mother.

"Hi Ka." Ana said.

"Hi Ana." My mom smiled

"Hey mom, what's up." I said, tearing my eyes away from Katie.

"I was thinking about going out and doing some toy shopping for Ana and the boys. Do you want anything specific?" She asked.

"Yeah." I said.

"What?" She asked me.

"Whatever you want to get them." I grinned.

"Okay. You wanna go shopping for your brothers with me and Am?" My mom asked Ana, who had just finished eating.

"Eah." Ana said, walking over to her.

I got up and put her shoes on and gave my mom the diaper bag, "Do you want extra money for Ana?"

"No. Whatever she wants, she'll get. Its as simple as that." My mom then leaned in to whisper to me, "You better run her a nice bubble bath. And a hot one too. She has to work tomorrow."

"I know mom. I will." I smiled.

"Ok Ana let's go!" My mom said as they walked ot of the door.

"What were you whispering about?" Katie asked suspiciously.

"That I should make you a bubble bath and that I need to take care of you because you have to work tomorrow." I smiled.

"Oh yeah." Katie groaned.

"Are you ok to work?" I asked.

"Yeah I'm fine." Shw said.

"Alright. Come on. Let's get you in that bubble bath." I said as I picked her up.

I ran the bath while she undressed. After I put in some coconut scented bubble bath and helped her get in.

"Is it too hot?" I asked.

"No. This is fine." Katie said, "Thank you."

"No problem." I said.

I washed her back then just sat and watched her for a little while before the phone rang. I isghed as I walked downstairs to get the phone. I grabbed it and got nervous when I saw that it was Mercury Records. I thought my interview had gone well and they said that they would get back to me. Now they had.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Hi. We were wondering if we could speak to Veronica Chambers?" Someone asked.

"That's me. May I ask who's calling?" I asked.

"Oh. My bad. Hello Veronica this is Nicole Carson, from Mercury Records." Nicole said.

"Hi Nicole, how are you today?" I asked.

"Very good and yourself?" She asked.

"Fine thanks for asking." I said.

"I'm calling you to see if you could come in Thursday morning at 8:00 with a song prepared." She informed me.

"Uh. Can I get back to you on that? I have my 1 year old home with me, so I'll have to see if I can get her a baby sitter." I said.

"You could bring her with you if you wold like." She said.

"Okay. Thank you. Then yes. I'll see you Thursday at 8." I smiled.

"Okay. See you then. Bye." She said.

"Bye." I hung up and let out a scream.

"What's going on?" Katie asked me.

"Mercury Records wants me to go in and sing for them Thursday at 8. And I can bring Ana with me so we don't have to worry about getting her a baby sitter." I grinned.

"That's awesome baby! Congratulations!" Katie said and hugged me.

"Thank you." I said as I kept her close to me.

She's mine ladies. Back off. You only wish you could have her. We went to sit on the couch and started talking about nursery themes for our boys. We had it narrowed down to monster trucks and zoo animals.

"Monster trucks are a boy thing." I said.

"Yeah alright. We can do that." Katie said as she looked at me.

"Sweet." I said.

We went out and picked out paint colors and I walked into the house with them.

"Why would you get all of those?" Katie asked me, "And why the mud brown one?"

"Hey! I paid for it so calm down. And you'll see in a couple of hours. For now, stay the hell away from the nursery room." I told her as I walked in and laid down newspapers.

4 hours later i was just adding the finishing touches to it all and I smiled, "Alright Katie! The paint is mostly dry there are only a couple of wet spots! You can some in now!

She walked in the door and her jaw dropped, "Veronica..... That is amazing!"

On one wall I had painted Grave Digger and on the one across from it I had painted Monster Mutt. The mud brown was used for just that. Mud. They were both on it but Grave Digger was doing a wheelie. I smiled at my work.

"Oh my god." I looked over and saw the whole group standing there.

"Nice right?" I asked.

"Hell yeah Sammie said.

"Ana. We gotta get some more paint Thursday so I can paint your room too, okay?" I asked.

"Ay." Ana said with a smile.

"That is amazing Veronica. So I'm guessing the theme is monter trucks?" Blair asked.

"Yeah. I said as I took stickers out of a bag. "Ana help Sammie and Justine put these stickers on that wall okay baby girl?"

"Ay." Ana said.

I gave them each two things of stickers and they went nuts on one of the walls. The others had started to put the cribs together. I just didn't want Ana getting hurt by trying to help with them. I Put the rocking chairs in the room towards the window and then went to the garage to build a toy box. It took 3 hours and when I walked back in with it, they were all getting drinks.

"Hey Katie does this look ok?" I asked.

She looked over and her jaw dropped again, "How do you do that?"

I had made a rectangular monter truck toy boy and painted it to look like Grave Digger on one side and Monster Mutt on the other side. There were fake wheels that I made out of melting plastic and molding it on both sides. And I used spray paint to make them black.

"I just let the artist in me take over and it came out. I have a teddy bear one in the garage for Ana too." I said as I carried it into the nursery.

I put the toys that we had to far into the toy box and then walked out. Ana gave me a soda and smiled at me, "Thank you Ana-Rocket."

"So when's your due date again?" Faith asked.

"March 23rd." Katie said.

"I can't wait." Sammie said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because their boys! You want them here fast too don't you?" She asked me.

"Well yeah, but I'm their momma. And I want a little more one-on-one time with my princess." I said as I looked at Ana who was walking around giving everyone another drink.

She would give someone a drink then run to the fridge to get another one for someone else. The she repeated it until everyone had a drink. I smiled as I watched her. She was going to be an amazing big sister. She had colored pictures of monster trucks for the boys and we hung them up on the wall with all the stickers in the boys room.

We all decided to sit down and watch a movie which then turned into a movie marathon. It was the perfect way to end the perfect day. Plus we had a popcorn fight!
