Chapter 14

Veronica's POV.

Today was Katie's baby shower. She was 7 months along and was huge. It was cute on her though. We were at the baby shower and none of Katie's family came. Kuro and Krystal were both called in for an emergence surgery. They called and apologized and said they would try to come up later. Konan was on a business trip that she couldn't reschedule and Kylee and their parents just refused to come. Stuck up assholes.

"What are we doing?" I asked my mom.

"We're gonna play a game now." She answered.

"What game? Can I play?" I asked.

"The price is right. Yes. But you and Katie can only help each other because you have Ana. You know most of this stuff." My mom said.

"Alright. Thank you." I said and walked towards Katie.

"Alright everyone. We're gonna play the price is right now." My mom went on to explain the rules of the game.

"They use huggies diapers and shop at Walmart. Any other questions just ask. You have 5 minutes to complete the game. Go!" Sam said.

I looked at the sheet. Jar of baby food. About $2. Baby lotion. About $5. Teething ring.... package of diapers. $3 and $9-10. Pacifier, baby powder baby soap. $2, $6 and $5. Total cost. I have no clue. I looked at Katie's sheet and she watched me as I coppied down her answer. My mom took Katie's sheet for the answers.

"Okay. So we are picking a winner and a runner up for prizes this game. The third place person gets candy." My mom explained, "The jar of baby foor costs about 2 dollars. The baby lotion about 5, teething ring 3, diapers about 9 to ten dollars, pacifier 2, baby powder 6 and baby soap about 5. The total cost should be 22 to 23 dollars. Anyone have that?"

"I do!" Sammie said as she stood up.

My mom went to check it and gave Sammie a prize. It was a bottle of sparkling grape juice. Kid wine.

"Ana had 24." Faith said as she checked it.

My mom gave her a bag of m&m's. And then Blair, who should have been second a pack of gum. We started to play another game called Baby name race. You just had to come up with a name for each letter of the alphabet. I won thet. Katie got second but gave it to Ana and Sammie got third. After that we got food and sat around to talk. We were talking about when we thought the babies would come.

"Okay. So Sammie thought this game would be fun. Everyone is going to write their name on the back of an index card and fold it. On the inside you have to write the date you think the babies are going to be born. Everyone gets two guesses and the winner gets a big prize. " My mom said after everyone had eaten.

She handed everyone two index cards and I wrote March 5th and March 13th on it. Both before the due date. I looked over at Katie's and smiled when I realized she had put the exact same numbers. After everyone had guessed we played 6 more games and it was time to open presents. We walked over to the couch and sat down. My mom gave me a present to open.

"From Sammie and Justine, Two not just one means double fun. two not just one means cuteness by the ton. Congrats and hope your ready for more endless sleepless nights, love Sammie and Justine." I smiled after I read it.

I opened the box and smiled. In the box sat two monster truck stuffes animals. I'm sure you know which ones they were to. Yep, Grave Digger and Monster Mutt. I looked up at them, "Thank you ladies."

"No problem. Katie, turn the oven up and cook faster!" Sammie said.

Katie glared at her as she took another gift from my mom, "From Faith and Blair. Congrats on the brats."

She opened the bag and smiled at as read the onesie. It was dark blueand said 'I'm older.... by a minute' and there was a matching one in light blue that said 'I'm younger... by a minute.' Then there was a green one that said 'Momma's little helper.' And a yellow one that said 'Cuddles with mommy are the best.' They also got us some pants to go with them and socks.

"Awe. Thank you guys." Katie said.

"Your welcome." Faith and Blair replied.

"This one is from, Ana-rocket." I smiled at Ana.

Inside her bag were two monster truck toys, two coloring books, two things of crayons, two monster truck pillow cases and two monster truck throw blankets. All Monster Mutt and Grave Digger. I grinned and hugged her.

"Believe it or not, she picked all of it out by herself." My mom informed me.

"Wow Ana. Your gonna be an awesome big sister." I said.

Ana smiled and gave me another present. She gave Katie on and we just went through them like that. We were soon done and ready for some cake. The cake wasn't your normal baby shower cake. It was a birthday cake with Grave Digger and Monster Mutt on it. It said, 'Jayden and Kayden are on their way. Congrats mommy and momma!' on it. We cut it and everyone had a piece. Then we went to our house and got Ana dressed ready to go play in the snow. We all walked outside and I watched as Blair took her over to the hill in our backyard to go sledding.

"So are you excited?" Sammie asked.

"Oh yeah." I said, "But I'm also nervous."

"Why are you nervous?" Katie asked.

"Because its twins. There's two of them." I explained the obvious.

"So. You'll do fine. Oh hey! Did Mercury Records ever get back to you?" Justin asked.

"Yeah. They are sorting some things out and then I have to go in for a recording so I can get a single out." I said.

"That's awesome. My little girl is a singer." My mom said.

"Yeah yeah." I said.

"So. The kids all have Katie's last name. Should we be expecting a ring soon?" My mom asked.

"Maybe." I said.

Katie glanced at me. I knew she was waiting for me to ask her but know wasn't the time. I wanted to ask her after she gave birth to the twins. It was January so she had to wait 2 months. As soon as my babies were here I would ask her. I already had the ring. It costed me $15,000 and it would be worth it. I just knew it would.

"Maybe as in yes or maybe as in no?" Sammie asked.

"Maybe." I said, not giving any hints away.

"Good maybe or bad maybe?" Faith asked.

"All you need to know is that one day- could be soon, could be in 4 years- as long as Katie says yes, then we'll get married." I told them.

"Why would I ever say no?" Katie asked.

"I don't know." I said.

Katie's phone went off and she groaned as she answered it, "Hello Kimberly. How can I help you?"

"No.... Yes, Veronica is here. Why wouldn't she be? No I will not ask her to leave.... I have company over.... No. I had a baby shower..... I didn't even know who was on the list.....No. Don't come over." Katie sighed as she hung up the phone, "Kimberly is on her unwanted way here."

"Oh yay!" I said, "We should go give her hugs."

Everyone laughed and that's when we heard the blood curdling scream. I looked over at Ana. Blair was lying on the ground seeming to be out cold and Ana was screamin as she held her hand. I ran over and picked Ana up before shaking Blair.

"Come on Blair. Wake up!" I said.

"You get Ana inside and check her arm.We'll take care of Blair. Don't worry." My mom said.

I nodded and brought Ana inside. Katie was already running water in the sink. I got her snow stuff off and sat her on the counter. Katie took a washcloth and rested it on her neck to warm her up. I pressed on Ana's arm and she pulled it back. I pressed on a different area and she was fine with it. I sighed and rapped an ace bandage around it. I looked over and smiled when I see Blair walkink in with Faith at her side.

"Is Ana ok?" Blair immediately asked.

"I think so. We'll take her to the hospital later if her arm still hurts. What the hell happened?" I asked her.

"I have no freaking idea. One second she was having a blast and the next, I was hitting my head of the ground and passing out. The last thing I remember is hearing Ana scream." Blair said.

"Oh. Are you ok?" I asked.

"Yeah. I have a headache but I can just sleep it off. Mind if I use your guest room?" She asked.

"Of course not. You know where it is." I said.

"Thanks. Night." She said as she walked up the stairs.

I looked at Faith and knew she wanted to go with her, "Faith."

She looked at me, "Yeah?"

"Go. Stay with her." I told her.

"Ok. See you soon." Faith said as she walked up the stairs to Blair.

We were watching Finding Nemo when there was a knock on the door. Sammie got up to get it and walked back with Kimberly following her. I groaned when I seen her and sighed. This was going to be a long couple hours. She walked over and sat down next to Katie who was busy looking at something on her phone.

"Hi Katie." Kimberly said.

"Hi." Katie said as she scooted closer to me.

"What are you doing?" Kimberly asked.

"Reading something." Katie responded.

"What?" Kimberly asked.

"None of your business." Katie said.

"Shhh!" Ana said, eyes not leaving the TV.

I smiled, "Yeah. Shh."

Katie looked up and at me before grabbing my hand and bringing it to her stomach. I smiled when I felt the twins fighting.We thought that they were fighting over space in Katie's stomach or who was going to be the first one out. Or Kayden had hit Jayden making him hit back. That happened on an ultrasound once. Kayden kicked Jayden so Jayden hit him back. Then they started an all out brawl in Katie's stomach. Ana was laugjing as she watched them. She licked to talk to her brothers too. It was mostly just parts of words but you could understand her for the most part. She could say a lot more now.

"Tell Kayden to leave his brother alone." Katie told me.

"Kayden James. You cut it our right now." I said.

"Thank you." Katie said, "And he steps on my bladder. Who does that?"

We laughed as Katie walked to the bathroom.

"So. When is her due date?" Kimberly asked.

"Why?" I asked.

"I wanna be at the hospital." She said.

"Oh. Then non of your business." I told her.

"Ar. two ive." Ana said.

"March 25th?" Kimberly asked me.

"Yeah. Sure whatever." I said.

Katie walked back in and sat down.

"Your due date is the 25th of March?" Kimberly asked.

"Uh no. Its the 23rd." Katie said.

"What hospital?" She asked.

"That's none of your business." Katie said.

"I just wanted to be there for you babe." Kimberly said.

"Thanks but I have Veronica and her family. I'm fine. And my doctor is awesome." Katie said.

"If your sure." Kimberly said.

"Positive." Katie said.

"Shhhhhhh!" Ana yelled.

"Sorry." They both said.

We watched the rest of the movie then Blair and Faith came back down. We started to play pictionary. On my team there was me, Ana, Katie, Faith, Blair, Sammie, Justine and Justin. The other team was Faith's parents, Blair's mother- her father had died when she was 4- Justine and Justin's parents, my mom, Sammie's mom and Kimberly. Ana was artist though so it was okay.

I went up and picked a card. The card read 'Chocolate bar.' I sighed and drew a rectangle with lille boxes in it. My team was screaming answeres but they weren't right. I erased the bottom a little and drew a wrapper. Then I made it look like someone had taken a bite out of it.

"Ocate!" Ana said.

"Yes Ana!" I grinned and picked her up.

"Leave it to the 1 year old to know what that was." My mom smiled.

Sammie's mom went next and she was drawing something that looked like a plate with worms on it. I grinned as I watched her team try to guess it.

"Babe. You suck at drawing." My mom told her.

"I know I do." Sam said with a smiled.

My mom smiled back making me smile. She was finally happy. She had found someone that loved her. Someone that would treat her right. Someone that knew what she had been through. And I was happy that she now had that.

The team finally got it and Sammie spoke up, "Mom. That does not look like spaghetti."

"Nope." Ana said, shaking her head.

"I know." Sam smiled.

"It looks like worms on a plate." My mom teased.

"Shut up." Sam said as she wrapped her arms around her.

"Nope." My mom said.

"Ew." Ana said as they kissed.

"Hey. Mommy and I kiss in front of you." I said.

"I know." She smiled.

It was her turn to go up and she looked at me confused. I had her come over and whispered for her to draw a rocket. She smiled and walked over to the board. First she wrote her name 'ANA' across it then went to work on her rocket. Soon she was adding what looked like flames coming out of the bottom.

"A rocket!" Justine said.

Ana shook her head.

"Ana-rocket." Blair said.

"Yeah Air." She said as she walked over to her and climbed into her lap.

We played a couple more rounds before people started heading home. My mother and Sam made Kimberly leave with them so we could have some family time before bed. Katie got us all some left over cake as I changed Ana and put her pj's on her. They were feety pajamas that had rockets all over them. I put on 'Dumbo' and ran over and sat back down. We got comfortable and I put a blanket over all of us. We ate our ckae and I took the plates out to the sink. Ana was half asleep so I picked her up and waited for Katie to put the movie back.

We went upstairs and laid Ana in her bed before walking to ours. We changed into our pajamas and laid down. I looked at her and smiled at her, "Would you really marry me?"

"Hell yes." Katie said.

"So if i was to get on one knee right now at this very moment, you would say yes?" I asked.

"In a second." Katie said.

"Really? What if we were running from an ax murderer?" I asked.

"Still yes." She smiled.

"What if I looked like s**t when I asked you. Like to the point where people were making fun of how I looked." I said.

"Still yes." She said.

"Good to know." I smiled.

"Now can I ask you a question?" She asked.

"You just did." I answered.

"Can I ask you another one?" She asked.

"You just did." I repeated.

"Can I ask you 2 question?"

"Sure. What's your next question?" I grinned

"You have to promise you will answer it truthfully." Katie said.

"I promise." I said.

I could never lie to her.

"Do you have the ring?" She asked.

I sighed and looked at her She had a hopeful look in her eyes.

"Yeah. I have the ring." I smiled.

She grinned, "Okay. I love you."

"I love you too. What's your dream wedding?" I asked.

"Hmmm. On a beach in Hawii. Surrounded by family and friends. With the love of my life and kids with me. But I want to get married in swim suits. So after we kiss, we can take the kids and run into the water. Then we could go back to the hotel or wherever and have food and dance and just have a ton of fun." She told me.

"That sounds nice." I said.

"What's yours?" She asked me.

"Where ever you are. As long as I'm with you I don't care where we get married. I just want to be with you and my family and friends. But Hawaii does sound nice and since I'm a singer...... we can do that." I said.

"When are you going to propose to me?" Katie asked.

"Soon." I said.

"Why can't you right now?" She asked.

"Because that would ruin it. But then again, you already know I'm going to so....." I got up and walked into the closet.

I grabbed the ring and walked back out and got on one knee, "I'm not good with speeches. So I'm just gonna say that you mean the world to me and that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you so f*****g much Katie. Will you do me the honor of being my blushing bride? Will you marry me?"

"Yes! Of course!" Katie said and kissed me.

I slid the ring on her finger and kissed her again.

"When were you really going to do it?" She asked.

"At the hospital. After you gave birth to my baby boys." I informed her.

"That would have been nice to." She smiled as she snuggled into me.

"I love you so much." She said.

"I love you too. So much. I love you to pluto and back." I said.

"Good night baby girl." Katie said.

"Good night babe." I kissed her again.

She fell asleep and I smiled. I may have proposed now but I was gonna do it again when my sons came. I'll buy another ring for her to. That's just how much I love her. I sighed and let sleep over take me.
