LAURA'S HOUSE
Elizabeth was at Laura's house, sipping her drink as she lounged comfortably on the couch.
She had been trying for the past ten minutes to convince Laura to go shopping with her the next day for an outfit for the company’s annual gala, but Laura remained unenthusiastic.
“I don’t see why I have to go all out for this,” Laura said, taking a slow sip from her glass.
Elizabeth gave her a look. “Because you work there, Laura. You’re a staff member just like everyone else, and you deserve to look good at the party. Besides, don’t you think it’s time you treated yourself to something nice?”
