MIGUEL'S GUEST HOUSE
Miguel stepped out of the bathroom, still drying his hands when his phone rang.
Glancing at the screen, he saw 'Laura' flash across the caller ID.
"Laura?" He called her name aloud out of surprise before picking up the call.
"Laura, good morning," he greeted her. "Everything okay?" He had to ask immediately, considering it's unusual for Laura to call him unless there's a problem.
"Morning, Miguel," Laura replied. "Um… yeah, kind of. Can I ask you something?" Laura felt uncomfortable bringing it up like this. She didn't want to sound ungrateful, but she had to do this for her mother.
Miguel paused. "Of course. What’s wrong?"
