Chapter 11 Tierney A rattling at the door had Tierney shooting up in bed. It wasn’t the first time. This foreign palace was noisy. She could hear every step of the guards stomping down the halls on their patrols, the howl of wolfhounds out in the woods. Shadows danced across the room, where silver moonlight streamed in the sliver between the thick curtains. “You’re okay, Tia,” she whispered to herself. “You’re alive, unharmed, and you’re going to get out of here.” She’d taken to talking to herself in the four days since she’d arrived at the palace.
