“Hi, Mom,” said Sal as he let himself, Micky, Alex and Mariam into the kitchen through the garage door. He went over and gave her a hug.
Mrs. Mase smiled at Alex and Mariam after Sal turned her to face them.
“It is nice to see you looking so well,” said Mrs. Mase to Mariam She came over and gave Mariam a hug. She held out her hand to shake Alex’s hand. “Is there something I can help you with?’
Alex smiled at her. “We were on our way back from Mariam’s doctor appointment and Sal mentioned speaking to Sandy. He told us about Minnie and Selma shopping for a prom dress. Mariam wanted to come by and see the dress. Since we have not checked on Selma in a while, and I promised the council I would keep an eye on her, we decided to stop and see her and let Mariam see the dress.
