Chapter 21

Sinister stopped at the forest line and fell to her knees. Screaming out into the cold and quiet night's air, she punched the ground as hard as she could. Sitting on the back of her legs, she looked up towards the bright and shining moon. Taking in a deep breath, she closed her eyes and thought about the offer that was made to her by the reptile. Humans don't seem too bad, right? And it has to be better than hunting them down for food. Pushing herself to get back to her feet, Sinister felt a cold shiver run down her spine. Shaking off all her emotions, she turned to face the path back to the castle.

Sinister marched with a purpose back into the city streets. The scent of blood was everywhere, but she couldn't let that take over her again. The tavern was still lit up with cheerful drunks inside. Sinister opened the door to the tavern and scanned for the one she wanted. Shadow came into view instantly as she entered. Sinister waited for him to see her from his seat, and when he finally did, she nodded to him then moved to take her leave to wait outside.

Shutting the door behind him, he looked at Sinister as his tongue flicked in and out of his lips. "Yes?" He spoke as if he knew why she was there. "How guaranteed is this cure you supposedly know of?" Sinister questioned, not wanting to drag out this conversation any longer. He nodded 'Don't know it's never been done," he replied in a sly tone. Sinister nodded as she extended her arm and moved her wrist to her mouth. Sinister then bit down hard and pulled it away from her mouth as the blood rushed from her bite mark. The Reptilian reached in his pocket and pulled out a small empty vile. Taking her bleeding wrist, she moved it over the small vile and watched as it filled to the top with her blood. "Thank you, I'll get back to you when I have completed the process," he stated as he moved back into the tavern.

Sinister stood for a moment in the cold, then looked up as it then began to lightly snow down on her. Taking a deep breath, she fully didn't understand for the first time what would happen to her. Turning away from the tavern, she looked at the castle that was in the background. News of the baby being born would soon spread though the kingdom and even the news of the dead man that lay on the ground. Sinister knew she needed to meet with James, to come to terms with what she did, but most importantly, matters about her people back home.

The sun began to rise above her head and the snow sparkled all around. Sinister hated this morning as it seemed to only show the light of her actions from the night. Sinister took a deep breath as others began to flock to the castle's gates with their demands about the birth of the prince. Pushing past them, Sinister entered the castle only to see a shadow in the corner waiting for her. "Guessing you have completed it?" Sinister asked in a whisper. The reptile nodded "I can not say if it will work for sure". He dug into his pockets and gave her the purplish fluid looking vile. Taking it from him, she pushed the vile into her back pocket as she walked away from him and headed to the throne room.

The group of people screamed their demands and concerns to James as he sat on the throne next to Jess. Jess's eyes widened when she saw Sinister. " Come to admit you have been killing and take your punishment!" James shifted to his seat as he looked at Sinister. Scoffing at his words, Sinister crossed her arms. "Not sleeping much, huh?" It shows." She smarted off to him. James hit the arms of his throne and stood up. "You killed and that isn't going to be overlooked!" He screamed "But before I get the pleasure of killing you, I do need your insight on something first." He grinned "I want you to allow me to go over and burn the Immortal kingdom to the ground." He finished speaking. Sinister chuckled and that only caused James to grow more pissed off. Lukyn whistled as he grew bored with the conversation. "I won't allow you to do any such thing," Sinister replied as she crossed her arms.

James took a step down from his throne. "Why? What has that Kingdom done for you?" He spat in a harsh tone. "There are innocent people that live there and only wish for peace", Sinister shot back. James huffed and didn't back down as he spoke again. "It doesn't matter if you keep one, and you gain more deaths". He fired his shots back at Sinister. Sinister took a step closer to him. "I will not allow this, I will not stand with you on this" As Sinister finished speaking she turned around to find that Lukyn grabbed her ass, before she could speak harshly to him. Lukyn grabbed her by the hair and moved her head back harshly as he then took the vile he stole from her back pocket and opened it. Shoving the vile into her mouth he let go of her hair and took a step back and watched to see if she exploded.

The liquid filled her mouth and she swallowed some of it before spitting the rest out on the floor. A growl came from her lips as she went to lunge at Lukyn for what he had done but only fell to her knees as pain took over her. "f**k!" She screamed out as she moved to her stomach and started to crawl towards him "I am going to f*****g kill you!" Sinister yelled out in pain as she moved. Lukyn laughed then frowned as he watched her inch towards him. Sinister let out another loud scream as her body went numb and her breathing harder. Lukyn tilted his head in disappointment. "Well f**k I was hoping she would explode!" He was saddened. He looked at James as he spoke again. "Can I go blow something up now?" He asked. Sinister tried to move but was only able to let out another blood-curdling scream. Jess moved to Sinister's side as she lifted her head. "Sinister!" She yelled. "I am going to kill you Asshat, and it won't be a fast death" Sinister winced out in pain as she tried to stand once more.

Sinister stood and took a step, only to fall. "Not in this state, sweet cheeks", Lukyn taunted. "Ooo look at the color in your cheeks now you are really fuckable" He winked as he turned to look at a guard "I get to go and blow s**t up now" He said all too happy as he took his leave. Sinister let out another scream and doubled over only to close her eyes and darkness took over her. Sinister awoke to loud chattering and people around her bedside. Sitting up, she looked around the room filled with people and rubbed her head, trying to make sense of what was happening.

"Sinister!' Jess moved towards her. "How do you feel? Are you feeling okay?" She asked in a hurried worried voice. "One question at a time, Queenie". Sinister pushed her away for a moment. "You have been out for three days", Jess spoke once more. "I am alright," Sinister replied as she looked at the surrounding faces. Jess and Shadow just watched Sinister. "Sinister…" The reptilian looked at her with a worried but accomplished facial expression. "You are human" His words echoed in her ears like they weren't true. Sinister looked at her hands, then back to the others. "This can't be!" She shouted to them in panic.
