Chapter 20

Dearest friend: Since last, I saw you, the Immortal kingdom has gone into a divided nation. Many are flocking to Violet's side to make her Queen and others oppose that we choose to live free from a ruler. There are too many wars erupting around, and innocent bystanders are being slaughtered. Times like this, we need more resources and, most importantly, order back into the kingdom. With much love, Gambler With a sigh, Sinister crumpled the paper in her hands, defeated and torn by what she had just read. The days turned into weeks since the day she took Nikita's life and a part of her couldn't shake that memory from her mind. The deep scar that Nikita left on her face was only a reminder of what she had caused in her homeland. Disorder and chaos were erupting back home, and it was because she disobeyed an order that ended in a life being taken. Sinister's eyes moved to her ice-blade that hung on the teepee walls. Its blade sparkled with its light blue rays. Night was approaching fast and there was a task at hand she needed to complete before the night turned into morning. Sinister stood up from her desk and moved to the entrance of the teepee and looked out into the fresh and crispy night. The moon shines brightly on those all around, capturing its beauty in the most eerie ways that only to her was beautiful. The air was cold, and the freshly light-powdered snow lightly covered the ground and bushes. It would be cold to everyone that lived in this kingdom, but to Sinister it didn't phase her a bit. Sinister began to walk and the crunch of the light snow could be heard from every direction. The forest was quiet tonight. Not even a bat to screech or fly in the cold night sky. The city's streets were bare and quiet from its normal busy and loud days. The stalls closed for the night and even the houses around shut and locked in for the night. Sinister enjoyed this scene compared to the days' chaos and chatter and rumors that spilled from the towns' peoples' mouths. The tavern was lit up and lively within its walls, people cheering and shouting over little wins they had archived in their life. Sinister chuckled with amusement at their cheering as she watched them from the window. A soft clearing of the throat caught Sinister's attention from the scene she was watching. "I see you are enjoying the show?" A female's voice quivered. Sinister chuckled as she looked at her. "It is amusing to watch at times," She replied as she took in Jess's appearance. Her face was red from the cold air that circled around them. Jess smirked "I see you aren't into the Christmas spirit tonight?" She teased. Her belly was now huge and swollen from the child she carried in her. "How about we talk, walk and talk for a while," Jess suggested, as her hands moved to her swollen belly. Sinister nodded to her question. As they both walked, the night's air seemed to grow colder. "And where is this walk leading us to Queenie?" Sinister teased with a laugh as they approached the castle's walls. Jess didn't answer as they walked into the castle side by side. Looking around the castle, it was decorated from top to bottom with lights and strings of garland. In the middle of the entrance there was a huge tree that was beautifully dressed with more lights and homemade ornaments. Jess laughed as Sinister moved to look around the castle with all the decorations that were placed around it. "Beautiful, right?" She asked as she held her stomach as she spoke. Sinister turned her attention back to Jess with her all-so ever-known eye roll. "It is very nice" Sinister replied as she watched Jess hold her stomach. Jess nodded in return, as if it hurt to speak. "Jess…" Sinister's eyes had a worried look in her eyes. Taking Jess in her arms and lowering her to the ground gently. A clear puddle of water soon leaked across the floor. Sinister's eyes shifted to a deep red color. Jess screamed in pain as her hands held her stomach. "Sinister..." Was all she screamed out. Sinister shook her head as to gain some control of the hunger that hit. Jess wobbled around on the ground to pull her pants down and the smell of fresh blood hit Sinisters nose hard. "Sinister!" Jess cried out to gain her attention. Sinister snapped out of her hunger for a second and moved closer to her. "You have to push," Sinister quivered in a whisper as she went to spread Jess' legs. Jess tossed her head back as she then delivered her first push, causing the smell to inter Sinisters nose more harshly. With another push, Sinister saw the head begin to push though. The burning that was in her throat started to hurt as she moved her hands to the infant's head and waited for the next push. With the next push, Sinister took the baby and began to pull lightly until the shoulder was pushed through. Jess took a long and deep breath as the last push. The baby came flopping and crying into Sinister's hands. Blood covered the infant, gritting her teeth as Sinister's eyes bared down at the child in her arms. Jess slowly pushed up to look at Sinister and the child. "It's a boy..." Sinister stated in a hushed tone, her eyes never leaving the blood-covered infant. Jess scooted lightly over to Sinister and placed a hand on her shoulder. Sinister broke eye contact as James came rushing onto the scene that was unfolding in front of him. "Jess!" He rushed over to take her hand and only then noticed the child in Sinister's arms. He removed the child with force and worried about what endless possibilities that could happen. "Guards!" He yelled as he pushed Sinister out of the way. Guards rushed in and picked up Jess, carrying her to the medical wing. James handed the child to a guard and looked down at Sinister and a wave of hate came through him. "Get out!" Was all he stated as he then too walked away to be with his new family. Sinister looked at her hands once more covered in someone else's blood. Standing slowly, she moved to the castle's door to take her leave, but only to stop to take a deep breath. The hunger took over her body and all her sense of emotions. Fleeing the castle with a devilish grin, everything was blurry. Sinister was caught off guard by the sounds of the crunchy snow that came from under her feet. Closing her eyes, she heard a faint crunch in the snow nearby. Sinister turned her head to see a man that was drunk and unstable trying to take a piss on a building. "And you will have to do it," Sinister whispered as she walked to the man. When the man was in her reach, he turned around and grinned "And tonight's my lucky night I see." His voice was slurred and disoriented. Sinister grinned as she extended her right hand and gripped his throat. She slammed him against the wall and the sounds of bones breaking only made Sinister more hungry for his blood. Moving her mouth closer to his throat, she felt his pulse beat on her lips. Her instincts took over as she bit down on his throat. The man struggled against her until he became lifeless in her grasp. Sinister dropped the man and took a step back. The ground was covered in bright red blood splatters and the man laid there dead. All she could do was take more steps back before she ran into the night away from the scene.
