Chapter 9

I know what you have come here for and I can help. Not because I am a nice person, but because I want the order of the law and evil to go back to normal. With you here it has nothing but disrupted everything that was built here. Meet me in the Dales to learn where your blade is hidden and don't take your sweet time. I am very busy and this is a very big inconvenience for me. Emrys Sylvan "Damn stupid druid, Sending me all the way out here in the middle of nowhere." Sinister huffed as she then leaned against a tall tree and waited for him. A male that stood about 6'2 came from the dark and green bushes in front of her. "And you came. Please follow me" His voice was all too peaceful and irritating already. "As you wish, nature boy lover". Sinister smarted off to him not very pleased that she had to draw things out more than what needed to be. He moved slowly, too slow for Sinister. "So you were going to tell me where my blade is, so I can finally go home already?" Emerys chuckled at her and shook his head as he continued to walk at his snail's pace. A hiss came from her mouth as he just kept moving along behind him. "Are you going to talk or just walk the entire way?" Sinister asked aloud, growing more and more inpatient. Emerys stopped and turned to face her. Unbothered by her annoyance, "Your blade isn't too far from here, but when you get it you will be faced with a battle that you, and only you can stop or continue once and for all." He stated as his eyes locked with hers. "Three keys that will unlock a rift and the fade will pour into our worlds and in thirty years time… We will cease to exist and all the lands will turn into what is known as the badlands." He finished with a harsh toned voice. "And that means what?" Sinister stated with her own harsh tone. Emerys just chuckled and pointed up a rocky pathway that was narrow. "Follow the path, and you will find what you seek" His words trailed off and before Sinister knew it, he was gone. "Nature lover boy" was all Sinister stated as she began to walk up the rocky narrow pathway. The path grew even more narrow and soon enough, it didn't look like a path anymore. It felt too easy for her at this point to take what was hers back. That question was why? Was it so damn easy? A cave was soon in her sights. Still didn't feel right that it was this easy, and it left a very bad knot in her stomach. "Here it goes, come to momma," she stated as she entered the wet and dark cave. Looking around, there wasn't anything in sight other than rocks and dirt. Sinister's eyes kept looking around for something that stuck out of the normal. "Hmm" Sinister's eyes locked on a small rubbish pile in the far left corner. Moving to it, it began to become clear that it was a pile of bones. Crouching to take a better look at them, a medium-sized box sat next to the bones that caught her attention immediately. Opening the box, a bright crystal blue light busted out "Ahh my baby!". She laughed as she picked up her blade from the box. The blade was perfect and the power felt amazing back in her hands, but the question was still there, how and why it was taken and placed there. Wasting no time, Sinister stood and began to move out of the cave. "Damn, sunrise will happen soon" she uttered, annoyed that she would have to stay in this little crave for the day. Sitting next to the pile of bones she admired her ice blade. "At least you had a little adventure again" she stated, as her right hand glided over the blade lightly. She began to think of what she had been through with her ice blade. Dark times they shared and even the cold and harsh choices that she had to endure for centuries. Thinking about all the wars she and the Blade had been in only left Sinister with guilt and sorrow. It slayed the young and old equally and left their bodies hardly recognizable for the dead's family to claim. For years, Sinister did nothing but kill whoever didn't serve or obey Nikita. Ending families and even burning towns down to the ground in her name to make a point. But in the end, she owed Nikita nothing but her unending life. She saved her 6000 years ago. Thinking about that day she had been turned against her will into what she knew only made Sinister's mind more clouded with questions. Nikita could be harsh and unholy, but she knew the truth behind all that. She mothered her when she didn't have anyone to teach her the ways of the vampire, helped her make a name for herself, something she didn't have back when she was a worthless human. Helped her climb the social charts to become a wealthy Lady of the court and even head general for the Immortal kingdom. The human Sinister wasn't feared or had power and riches like she has now. Human Sinister only had a small dirty crumbling cottage and for a job she went to the local tavern to pimp herself out for how many coins she could get that day. One piece of that history she wished she knew about was her maker. The unknown figure always crossed her mind, to take away a choice that should not have just been taken. She was just another drunk girl that night finishing up a party in hopes of healing a broken heart that would never heal. A dark figure approached and took her by the throat, cutting off everything, so she couldn't scream for help. As the end drew near, the last of it ended in pain and horror as the figure bit down on her throat harshly, draining away the last of her human life. When she awoke, she was in a dusty shack scared and confused, covered in blood. Only then was it clear she would never see the sun again. Shaking that horrid memory, Sinister huffed out loud and moved her head back to lay against the stoned wall. The blade back in her hands, she can finally go home and finish her reports and findings. The unearthing questions she still had burning in her head made her only wonder what the outcome would be. Clicking her tongue, she thought about those keys the nature boy mentioned and how if they unlocked these badlands it would come and, ultimately, end everyone. Then her mind went back to what Nikita wanted with this little girl of a queen and Sinister already knew that would make a great endless story told about her in the immortal kingdom for years and years to come if she brought her back to Nikita. "Guess I better do some poking and prying around and find out about this little queen." Sinister's eyes at that moment shifted to a deep blood-red. "s**t" She hissed out as the hunger only grew more and more intense. Gritting her teeth, she closed her eyes wishing that this would end, knowing that the only way to do so was to, ultimately, kill herself. Taking a deep breath, she waited for the sun to set, so she could go out and find her filling dinner for the night, so then she could go back to what needed to be done, so she could finally go home.
