Chapter10

As time just felt like it stood still, Sinister took in a deep breath as she waited for the sun to set. It was almost time to go out and find her dinner for the night. Taking a stand gracefully and placing her blade on her right hip, she stretched as she moved to the entrance's shadows to wait. She longed to see the sun set at least one last time, but knowing that was clearly impossible was an understatement in her mind. As the last few moments of the bright yellow sun shined on the lands with its beautiful rays, Sinister readied herself for hunger and what was to come with it. A moment past as the sun settled, and the moon appeared with its bright white rays. Sinister moved out of the cave quickly and what could be mistaking more motionless, the moon shined bright above her, giving her a little glow. The hunger took over instantly and forcefully, the hunt was on more than ever. Moving swiftly into the town, Sinister took in a deep breath. She couldn't have a human life again, not what happened the last time she did. She gave that up many years ago, but where, where are the animals? That should calm the hunger down some to be able to function on the mission ahead. Just in a moment's time, a man came from a small broken-down cottage. He was short and overweight with a fast beating, plus that rang into her ears loudly with sweet temptation. Temptation was there burning in her throat, and it grew with every burning second there was to take him now. The man came closer and Sinister couldn't hold back. She charged at full speed, ready to tackle and take every ounce of his blood he had pulsing through his body. Before she could make her grand tackle, a force pushed her into a dark alleyway. The figure was in a black cloak, but the scent was all too familiar to her nose. "What... The... Queenie?" Sinister muttered as she moved to get to her feet quickly. "Shut the f**k up, and follow me," Jess stated as she moved to get up herself and quickly walk back into the streets. Confused by this, Sinister followed her lead stupidly. "A f*****g tavern? How is this irrelevant right now?" Hissed Sinister, but Jess only went inside, completely ignoring her fully. Following her, a sudden feeling came over Sinister, one that couldn't be ignored for too long. Jess moved quickly and lightly, which seemed unnoticed by the people that were talking loudly among themselves. "Idiotic peasants", Sinister mumbled under breath about the scene she was taking in. Sinister shook off what she had seen and moved closer behind Jess, as she went behind the bar and moved a small unnoticeable object forward that was mounted on the wall. Both of them moved inside the small hidden door that appeared once the object was moved. "What is this dusky old place?" Sinister asked as her eyes drifted around the room, taking in the many bottles that were placed around it. Jess grabbed a bottle off the wall behind a small and dusty counter and handed it to Sinister. "Here, this should help". Her voice had a hint of worry and compassion in it. Taking the bottle, Sinister already knew what the bottle held inside. "I don't need your help." Jess couldn't help but give a smart ass grin. "Please, said the one that almost took out an innocent person and caused more of a mess than good." Sinister rolled her eyes as she opened the bottle and brought it to her lips. Taking a long drink from the bottle, the burning started to disappear from her throat. "Better?" Jess asked as she leaned on the small and dusty counter as she watched Sinister. The bottle was half way gone before Sinister could answer. "Why are you being so kind to me?" She asked, as this came too complete and utter shock. "Because I want to be a Queen that helps her people, and even help strangers that wish to come in and make a mess of my kingdom." Her words trialed softly before she continued "Besides you might know an answer to my question?" She finished speaking as her weight shifted to the left side. Sinister nodded slightly as she took another drink, her gaze not leaving Jess' face. Sinister's eyes slowly started to change back into their normal ice blue color. "I see, And what is that answer to your question?" was all Sinister said. Jess moved from around the counter with a smart ass grin. "Enjoy, take as many as you need" were the last words out of her mouth as she moved to leave the small room. Clearing her throat, Sinister looked around and thought for a moment about the kindness that was shown to her. "Maybe she wasn't such a bad person after all." Shaking her thoughts off about her, she moved the bottle to her lips and finished the bottle. Placing it on the counter-top, she moved out of the small room herself back into the roaring crowds in the tavern. Screams and arguments filled Sinister's ears. She quickly moved to leave as this place was just too idiotic for her. Outside the tavern, Sinister took a deep breath and began her journey to her hideaway. Entering the Teepee Sinister, she didn't waste time making her way back to her mask shift desk. She removed her blade and set it on the desk. Something didn't sit right with what Jess had stated about a question. At that moment, a swooshing sound boomed loudly into Sinister's ears. A white owl soon appeared and landed on the desk. With an eye-brow raised, Sinister took the note from the owl's leg and tossed the note onto the desk with a huff as she looked at the wall. "I see you have lost your touch," a rough, smoothed, grim voice stated aloud. With an eye-roll, Sinister looked at the entrance with annoyance. "Ah, Dimiri, what shall I owe this little visit from you?" He chuckled low and deep in response. "Slacking? Already? Damn, that didn't take long at all." He chuckled once more as he continued "I see you got that blade back, And yet no word?" He gave a smooth, snarky, pouting face. Sinister gave a devilish grin as his cockiness was crawling under her skin. "Cute, really cute Sir Ugly ass-kisser". He took his right hand and rubbed his short, perfect scratchy beard for a moment. "Have it your way Sini, but just know that this good-looking ass-kisser has your old job now," he stated coldly and harshly as he turned to leave. "f**k!" Yelled Sinister as her right hand balled into a tight fist. "f**k!" She kept shouting over and over knowing this wasn't going to end well. A debt was owed, and she had to honor that, as much as it would pain her to do, she had to warn Jess about what was about to happen to her. "Why did she have to go and be nice to me, f**k?" Sinister cried aloud in a child-like manner, making sure her feet stomped loudly against the ground. She went to get around her desk, quickly grabbing her ice blade along with it, wasting no time with her long fast steps. Running at her fullest speed, she began to head deeper into the thick and dark forest, hoping that she would make it in time to stop what was coming. Something that she could only fight and keep away from her even though that would put her at risk, her own head on the chopping block from Nikita. "f*****g stupid ass girl, and f**k this oath s**t!" Sinister called out as she ran as fast as she could.
