BROKEN

CHAPTER 17

LUCAS'S POV-

today's meeting was very crucial for my company and i did not wanted Olivia to create any problem during the meeting but thankfully she did not embarrassed  me in front of everyone. instead she was staring and there was admiration in her eyes for me. it was the same look which i saw when she first came to my company. but i could feel another pair of eyes at me that was from secretary of Mr. Black. i am very used to her lustful gaze but never f****d her. i was never even once attracted towards but still she always tries to educe me. but i ignored her every time and i was completely focused on my presentation. Surprisingly, Olivia was listening to everything very attentively and noted down all important things. 

i was wondering if she is plotting something again but she behaved very well during and after the meeting. the meeting ended on a good note and everybody started leaving the hall. Mr. Black invited me and Olivia to the party hosted by him. there was some admiration in his eyes when he was looking at Olivia. it seemed  like he was showing interest in her although he never talked to any of my previous secretaries or assistants. he has always been very professional when it comes to work and he even allowed Olivia to call him by his name.

but i was more thinking of getting back to good relations with Olivia so i called her in my office and tried my best to make my plan work and talked about morals and s**t to get into her head and it actually worked but i understood one thing clearly that she has built some walls around herself and she is not letting anyone to break them for her. Luckily things got better between us and i have to win her. 

it is 6:00 pm and i walked over to her office to go for the shopping. as i walked into her office, i saw her still doing her work completely unaware about my presence. 

"Office hours are over Olivia, you can do the rest of work tomorrow. we have more important things to do right now so pack your stuff and let's leave."

"i didn't knew it's 6:00 pm already. so yeah let's go" she said and we walked to my private lift. no office staff is allowed to use it. we got inside it and i pressed the parking floor button.Olivia was standing next to me and suddenly lift stopped with a sudden jerk. 

Olivia startled at her place and started taking heavy breaths all of the sudden. i tried calling the staff but i guess they all have left the office. suddenly i felt someone holding my shirt and i saw Olivia in terrified and panicked state "why the lift is not working Lucas? please do something. i am not able to breath" she said and started limping. she was blacking out and i said "are you claustrophobic Olivia?" while holding her body strongly and she nodded slightly."don't worry Olivia, i am here. nothing will happen to you just take deep breathes and trust me, you will be safe and sound. don't panic." and i rested her head on my shoulder. i started playing with her hair to calm her down a bit and she was hugging me like her life depends on me. 

i cautiously sat down in the lift with Olivia in my lap sleeping in the crook of my neck. her hands are around my neck and chest and she is sleeping like a carefree baby. my arms are around her tiny waist holding her firmly towards me. i never got into such situation with any other girl so it was hard for me to handle such situation. i tried calling again but that was of no use because of weak signals. suddenly i remembered about the Emergency button in my lift that was specially designed if someone gets locked in it and i pressed it without disturbing Olivia. 

as soon as i hit the emergency button, certain lights and sirens started beaming waking Olivia up. as soon as she saw our position, she quickly got up from my lap.

"what is happening Lucas, are we in danger?" she looked at me dumbfounded.

" No babe, i pressed the emergency button, someone will come to rescue us soon now. don't worry now."

and she sat in one corner of the lift hugging her knees and face buried in her legs. we both were waiting for someone and in 5 minutes the lift started and opened in front of the parking space. there is always someone present from management staff to look after all these issues and today it happened because of their carelessness. but i thought of dealing with them all tomorrow. i looked at Olivia who was taking deep breathes to get back to her normal self. 

"let's go to my car. i have some water there and you will feel better." and guided her towards my car. she gulped the water and calmed down. 

"do you still want to attend the party or want to go home and take rest?" i asked looking at her.

"then what about you, who will you take yourself with?" 

"i guess i will have to ask some fling or even better not attend the party and get myself some time."

" Mr. black has personally invited both of us so maybe if we don't show our presence then that will not look good and moreover i don't want you to put your reputation at stake for me. i am better now so yeah we will go to the party. don't worry about me." she said and i smiled at her.

we both reached to one of the best boutiques in the New York which is owned by my friend. as we both entered inside, i was greeted by my friend Zac who is the best designer as well as a gay. 

"Oh my Lucy boy, how are you?" he said

" i am good Zac, meet my assistant Olivia and Olivia this is zac my friend and the best designer in New York." i introduced both of them to which the shook their hands with smiling faces.

"Zac we have to attend a very important business party and Olivia is going to be my date tonight so i want you to show her the best dresses."

" no worries Lucas, this beautiful girl will steal everyone's attention tonight and i will make sure of it. Miss Olivia please come with me."

i was never interested in choosing and selecting dresses. this is what love sick puppies do so i just sat down there and asked Olivia to choose whatever she likes and got engaged in my phone. after sometime she came out with her dress and her accessories and i paid the bill and we both left the boutique.

"do you need a beautician? i mean don't get offended but the party will be really grand so be at your best. this is the first time you are going with me and i want you to be the best among all of them." 

"Don't worry i will not disappoint you and i don't need a beautician to get me all dolled up. i will take care of everything. so you can stop worrying about it." she said and we reached her house.

she got out of the car by herself as soon as the car stopped. i helped her with the stuff and she started walking towards the main door and i don't know why i kept standing there like a fool waiting for Olivia to say something. she suddenly turned to me and came towards me and said "thank you so much Lucas for handling me in the Lift or else i don't know what would have happened to me. i guess you are really not that bad." and then went to her house. i drove back to my apartment with smile plastered on my face. so being a sweet and caring man works. i guess i have to walk an extra mile for her but i am all set to go to every extend to make her mine.
