2. Lovely couple

Mia's P.O.V

As soon as I open the door I can see darkness everywhere with no one in sight , what's going on! Where's dad? Or anyone else for that matter. This is scaring me, why is it so silent here today. But all this question does not last that long.

As all of a sudden the lights suddenly comes back, bringing back life to the house along with a chorus of shouts.

All(excitedly shouting) : Happy birthday!

Surprisedly I stare for a while, but when I look carefully I see Jace my boyfriend holding a giant cake which has my name on it and my dad was also there holding a wrapped gift and lastly Justin my best friend also holding a big wrapped gift ,all of them standing there wearing those pointed birthday hat thingy .

Mia( surprised): Oh My God! When did you guys prepare all this? And here I thought you guys forgot my birthday.

I really thought they forgot my birthday as no one wished me at all today and now its like 6pm already but now I know why.

Jace(hugging her): Pfft! How many girlfriend do you think I have that I'll forget my only love's birthday. Happy birthday angel ( kissing her on the forhead)

To that I just smile hugging him back saying a small thanks as my dad also follows him saying

Chris( her dad) : And yes, how many daughter do you think I have that I'll forgets my only daughter's birthday.

And with that he also hug me wishing me a happy birthday with a kiss on my forhead, and Justin also follow along

Justin( micmiking them) : And how many friends do you think I have, that I'll forget my one and only Mia's birthday?Happy birthday Mia Pia.

Mia( laughing and hugging them all): Thank you guys so much and yes! Iam your only daughter dad and only girlfriend Jace but Justin?

Justin(fake hurting): What about me?

Mia(staring intently) : Well, Iam not your only friend am I? You even spy on me for your dear friend Jace.

Justin point an accussig finger at Jace and said with a dramatic tone.

Justin : You told her!

Mia: Yes he told me and ( fake surprised) how can you sell me away like that!

Justin(dramatically) : Well , the things he offer were too tempting, like only he can give those no one else could .(calmly) So I had no choice.

Mia(accusingly) : So you sold me just for a machine?

Justin(defensively) : No! Of course not. That is not just a machine! Thats my baby.

The nerve of that guy, after all the things he has done. Let's see how he get out of this.

Mia: Ahhhh did you just accept that, that thing is more important than me

Justin(its a matter of fact tone) : Of course yes! That thing is gonna help me fastened my research like ten times more. Can you do that?

Mia( sulking) : Okay! No cakes for you!

I know Iam being childish but hey! He started it first. But him being the drama king he is he said.

Justin( dramatically) : Ahhgg you can't do that!

Mia(with a shrug) : Yes I can , its my birthday, my cake; so my choice.

Justin( accusing tone) : How can you do this to me, so cruel.

And with that he rush towards the cake to get a bite but Jace swat his hand away

Justin(baffled) : You! You! This is all happening because of you and still then you are on her side.

Jace(don't care tone) : Of course Iam, thats Mia.

Justin( fake crying) : You guys are really mean, you guys are already together and now you even coming for my food!

With that he once again try to take the cake but Jace swat his hand away again but before more drama can start Dad interrupt

Chris(making a stop gesture) : Okay! Okay! stop stop. Enough, let's cut the cake first. Come on Mia come cut the cake.

And with that I put a pause to the drama for now and close my eye making a wish that; the people who are with me right now may stay forever like now happy and contented.

And thanking God for everything, as even though I don't have many people around me. And Dad , Jace and Justin are the only people Iam close to , I cheer in my prayer as they are far more better than what I ask for.

With that I blow the candle and cut the cake. But as soon as I cut the cake Justin grab a piece and shove it in my mouth doing the same with his and look at me with a triumphant smile making me stare at him in shock. But not for long.

Mia( grinning) : Dad, Jace ATTACK!

And with that the cake fight began as we start smearing cake at each other laughing ,screaming , running with each other. Happily hugging among ourself having a blast.

We may not be many but if you ask me, in my opinion this must be what being complete feels like. They are my happiness, my family , my friend and my life and I can't be more grateful to have them with me on such a special day.

Oh and just so you know Justin and I were arguing because days back I caught cold and Jace being Jace overreacted and tried everything to make me stay home even after I was fine, cause according to him; I was not fine.

The irony was between me and him Iam the one who is a doctor and its also my body which I am sure I know best but because its Jace he was adamant to making me stay home and I cave at last.

But that afternoon he was forced to go to office due to an emergency in his office which need his presence. He is normally a busy person as he has his own company which produce machines and tools for medical purposes . And he is good at what he do as his company is one of the leading company in its area in the whole world, which make him even more busy.

But back to the topic, after he was gone I was bored out of my mind so I decide to go to the hospital without him knowing and come back before he comes home ,seems like a preety nice plan to me but that is where everything goes wrong.

As apparently Jace has already predict that I'll went for work as soon as he leave so he got Justin to spy on me and Justin being Justin quickly agreed to report to him if I came to the hospital, but with a price.

Just so you know Justin also work in the hospital but he work for a researching team which was launch in order to find antitode for rare viruses.

Anyway Justin negotiate with Jace that if he report diligently Jace will give him a device that will help him with his research which apparently is not launch yet and is top quality. So he decide to betray me for a god damn device.

And that little, he even coax me to come to the hospital, saying is your boyfriend your boss and blahh blahhh, I was suspicious of what he want but now I know.

Tchhh just because of him I have to persuade an angry Jace which is not easy and also a very rare happening as he almost never get angry on me. But because of that Justin and a little because of me, okay who am I kidding a lot because of me he did get angry, but Justin also plays a role so revenge will be coming soon.

Anyway back to the present, after all the cake fight and laughters we all decide to shower after which dad decide to call it a day while Justin said and I quote

"I know Iam the best at everything so I can practically read Jace eye shooing me away, so I won't disturb you couples anymore so babye fellas". And he was gone too. I tell you drama is his other name.

After a while Jace and me decide to go for a walk rather then sleeping.

Which was a good choice as outside it was a peaceful night, with soft breeze blowing against the starlight night with the moon glowing gracefully in its full glory. The soft breeze swaying with it the fragrance of all the flowers, not too strongly neither too weak. It was perfect but what make it all the more perfect is that Iam with Jace. Right then Jace brought me out of my thought by suddenly stoping and handing me something

Jace: Here

Mia(confused) : Huh?

Jace(smiling softly): Its your gift.

And he brought out a square thing wrapped beautifully in a pure white paper, it look like a frame and was huge , how I don't see him carry that before was beyond me. Anyway I take the strange square thing.

Mia(curiously) : What is it?

Jace: Open it.

And the next second I open the gifts , tears were continuously pouring down

Mia(covering her mouth with her hand and in tears) : How?Where did you get it? I thought it was all gone.

Jace(wiping her tears): Well you thought wrong.

Mia(in tears): But how?

Jace( hugging her and wiping her tears): For the first time my angel wants something, how can I not get it.

Jace was looking at me warmly with a soft smile on his face which look serene but I was too shocked to say anything.

Jace: Why so silent? You don't like it?

Is he kidding me!

Mia: Of course I do. But it does not make sense, I search for it everywhere but there was none.

Jace(cocky) : Well, Iam Jace aren't I?

Even his cocky self, I love right now cause this was too precious. I don't know if Iam smiling or crying when I hug him and say.

Mia : Thank you, thank you so much. This is the best gift ever.

He just ruffle my hair still smiling softly. Actually the gift was a picture of me, my dad and my mom when I was small.

Now you might think what's so special about that but it was! Actually my biological parents died when I was just five and Chris who is now my dad adopt me, he was also the best friend of my father.

But as my parent died when I was very young I dont know much about them.A very horrible fire caught by accident rip my parents, my home , my sister( Chris's daughter) away from me when I was just a kid. Ripping away almost all thing to remember us as family. So it was always my wish to at least have a family portrait with me and for that I search everywhere but found none as it was all burned down.

But today Jace has brought me that , I don't know how he get it but I think Iam way too happy to ask or care. Growing up, I got to see a lot of pictures of my parent online as they were famous scientists. But it was always my wish that even if we couldn't live together as a family for a long time. I hope to have something that symbolise us as a family and will be there with me for a long time and today I get that.

In the picture, my dad was in the middle, my dad holding me on his right side while hugging mom with his other hand.All of us smiling brightly like we were competing against the bright sun in the picture highlighted by the white sand and the blue waves. I guess we were at a beach. Its sad that even when I look at the picture I can't seem to remember anything about how that day went, why we were smiling so happily, neither who took that picture. But nonetheless I was so happy as this gift was the most precious thing I have ever received and the giver being Jace make it so much more special. Jace brought me out of my trance by wiping my tears and saying

Jace(looking at the picture): You are quite cute as a kid, what do you think went wrong now Mia?

Mia( glaring while sniffling): Are you calling me ugly.

Jace( hugging) : Yes!

Mia(pouting): Haww!

Jace(smiling at her) : You look the ugliest when you cry, so stop crying. I don't want an ugly Mia, pretty Mia is what I come for.

I know Jace and I know he is trying to cheer me up by saying all this which just warm up my heart so I decide to play along

Mia(still sniffling): Don't you know Iam a whole package , you have to like both of me if you want me.

Jace( acting shock): Really? But I only ordered smiling Mia, I should write bad reviews about the producers; they didn't mention the most important part. If I had knew ugly Mia was in too, I would'nt have ordered at all.

I just glare at him and hit his shoulder softly but he overreact and act like he pass out by lying down on the grass pulling me down with him which make me laugh out loud.

Jace(smiling): Now there is the Mia I love.

And I just grin stupidly looking down at him, actually we are lying in the grass with me lying in his torso and hugging him. I was enjoying the moment when he nudge me to look up . I confusedly look up when I saw shooting starts flying by like they are in rush. Realising what that means I quickly pray for a wish deciding to go with my childish believe that it will all come true. After I make my wish, I again look at Jace and say.

Mia(happily) : I have quite the luck , I even got to have one more wish accepted on my birthday.

Jace: Thats the reason why you think you are lucky?

Mia(confused) : Yeah why else will I think so?

Jace( a duh tone): Me.

Mia: Huh?

Jace(faking hurt): You got such a hot, handsome, loving and sweet boyfriend and you think starts and candles are what make you lucky? Iam offended angel.

And I just laugh at the guy beneath me , I can't say he is not true though. Iam the luckiest girl to have him as my lover. It was truely an honour filled with pleasure but I dont wanna boost his already high ego so I just said.

Mia(laughing) : You are so full of yourself.

Jace(smirking) : Well, you got to be when you are me.

Mia: Tchh

With that we fell into a comfortable silence as I gaze up at the sparkling stars shining brightly. After a while of silence

Mia: Jace?

Jace:Hmm

I point to a very small and a dim star and said

Mia: If we were stars I think that should be you.

Jace: Why? I dont like that one its too dim. If Iam that small and dim how will I shine for you?

Mia(sleepily) : Nop! Dim is better, with that much light you can definitely shine for me, but if you are any brighter and shine for everyone than I will be too jealous. So dim is best.

Jace(laughing softly) : Okay then dim it is.

Like this my sweet birthday comes to an end as I hope the stars will listen to my prayer that "may his happiness always be mine as well".
