16. Just a morning

Mia's point of view

After a while of shaking and thrashing around, the plane finally stop moving and that is how I know the plane has land somewhere. I quickly get out of there to see that we have land in a forest, thinking no further I quickly pull Julia up who is semi unconscious and carry her out, I remember rushing in again and carrying an unconcious Monica and a very awake baby Claire out. Seeing as the plane has slowly started to burn, I hastily look around for Chris, who after a while of searching was found lying in the corner while heavily injured. With no time to waste, I quickly help him out of the plane, I also tried looking for the planes crew but starangely enough no one was there. There was suppose to be a pilot and his co pilot but none of them were there. But as the time was ticking away, we tried to get as far away as possible from the plane in fright of explosion. We were carrying and leaning on each other while we all run with all we have.

How scary would this have been, I mean just imagining it gives me chills. What must have they felt?

But Iam glad dad is alright, even though it seems like he got heavily injured. Thank god, he is all good and is here with me.

While I was reading this, I heard a knock. I guess dad has finished making breakfast.

Mia: Come in dad.

Jace: Seriously, Iam okay with the boyfriend position.

Jace? Why is here this early?

Mia: Jace? You are here this early?

Jace: I didn't went home since yesterday

.

Oh yeah, when we returned from the hospital it was pretty late yesterday.

Mia: Oh yeah! We did reach home pretty late.

Jace: Tch. Like you know how you reach home or your room for that matter.

Hmm not my fault I was sleepy and all in all its their fault, they made it to my habit to fall asleep everywhere caused they always carry me back without waking me up. But I don't need to say this, what will happen if they don't do it anymore. So much loss for me so I decide to stay quite on that subject.

Mia: Even if I don't know, I reach anyway! so Iam cool with it.

Jace just look at me for a while and shake his head in disbelieve.

Jace: Come on let's get up now, Chris has made breakfast for us.

And with that he take the book in my hand and kept it in the bedside table and even lift my blanket for me. Weird, why is he doing all this? That when I saw my bandaged hand. And I understand why.

Jace(worried): How's your hand, does it still hurt?

It does not really hurt that much anymore. But if move, Iam sure it will hurt, but no need to prove that theory now.

Mia: If I don't move it, I don't feel the pain anymore.

Jace: That's a relieve! Now we can just not let you move.

Mia: Yup! How hard it can be not to move my one hand.

I mean, it will be really uncomfortable but for two three days; I will survive with no problem, that is of course if I don't go to work.

Jace: Probably harder than you thought.

Chills. When he mention something of this sort it always is true. But I chose to ignore him.

Mia: Meehhh.

And with that we went down to have breakfast and that's where I saw Justin inching closer and closer to his plate. Like he is hungerstriven and cant wait to eat anymore.

Mia: Hand breaker, can't even wait for me anymore?

Seriously, my opportunity to blackmail him have shows up again.

Justin: And evil Mia has woke up. Where has Jace angel gone? Huh?

When he said that I just stick my tongue out and settle down to eat.

Jace: She is my angel not yours so why would she behave like one with you?

While saying so, Jace spread the jam on the toast and pass it to me. I grin and mouth him thank you while he just smile back.

Justin: Man would it kill you to take my side just once?

I don't think so.

Jace: Nah!! But I don't want to.

See! I was right.

Justin: Now he doesn't even hide it anymore. This world has really become rotten huh?

One sentence of someone oppose him and its like the key to his door of drama has been open.

Mia: You and your drama.

While we were doing this, dad comes from the kitchen with warm milk pudding. Its a mixture of milk, and sticky rice.

Chris: Mia, your hand; does it feel better or shall we visit an orthopedic today?

While asking he pass me the bowl which was taken away by Jace and he place it in front of me. Iam sure I can do that with one hand but whatever.

Mia: Iam okay dad, I feel a lot better actually. If I keep it still, I don't feel the pain anymore.

And I add one of my signature reassuring smile.

Chris(teasing) : Are you sure? Cause I heard Justin was the one who treat you. Why would you do that for? You should never take such risky risk ever again okay?

This should be fun.

Justin: Iam right here people.

I can't not play along now can I?

Mia: Okay dad, next time I'll make sure, I got treated by the right doctor.

Justin: I can hear you.

Jace: Yeah I'll make sure she got treated well. Last night was too hectic I must have lost my mind or something.

And my prayer has been answered.

Justin: Seriously, make it less subtle please.

Jace(nonchalant): Stop the drama.

I love him more and more for doing my favourite thing with me. Teasing Justin.

Justin: So you too see me and now you guys are just gonna insult me right under my nose? You insult me and yet when Iam insulted you call it drama.

Him and his drama. His fake offence is just the tip of the iceberg.

Chris: Yes, you dare let my daughter get hurt?

Justin: Please go back to pretending as if you can't see me.( meekly) Thank you.

And he bowed his head and silently eat his breakfast. He look like a puppy who have done something wrong.

Anyway let's ignore him as he wish.

Mia: So dad what's your plan for today?

Chris: I was hoping I could stay with you but unfortunately I have to make preparation for the volunteers team going to different hospitals.

Mia: What volunteers?

Chris: Huh? You don't know?

Justin: How would she know? When you announce it she was doing lovey dovey with this guy over there.

And he point to Jace with his eye. Ekk he is gonna regret bringing that topic up any second now. 1..2..

Jace: You really wanna talk about that again?

Justin: Not really! Please ignore me, thank you.

And there it is, ahh Iam having way too much fun with this.

Mia: So, what volunteer?

Chris: Well your uncle Logan organise a volunteer visit of some doctors from his clinic to some rural or more laid back hospitals. But not many doctor could come from his clinic due to some emergecy so he ask for our help, so Iam looking into it.

Mia: Oh really? I wanna go as well, when are we going?

I really wanna do it, this kind of thing is something I have never done before. Why? Because I don't have the guts and is pretty lazy one can say. Or because I have no experience at all in those times, the other can say.

Chris: They are going, not you. Just look at your hand.

Justin is gonna get it again. This time from me. Iam cruel and I know that.

Mia: Oh come on, it would have healed by then.

Chris: No means no, its in three days and your hand seem like its gonna take at least a week to heal.

Mia: No it will heal in two three days, Justin says so. Right Justin?

And I look at him expectently cause this time Iam not making things up, he really did says that.

Chris,Jace: Is that so Justin?

Okay Iam no Justin but if I were him I would be scared. And that means the answers won't probably be in my favour.

Justin: I don't interrup in family talk so if you will please excuse me.

And with that he rush to the kitchen acting thirsty when a huge fat water filter, filled to its brim is kept right there at the table we are eating from. Well I guess he was not trying to fool us but letting us know he is running away.

Chris: Anyway, you are not going Mia, go next time okay? If not I'll be too worried. If you go, you have to be there for about about a week. Its a long stay and with you being unwell, its just not okay. So next time okay?

Its not like, I can say no to dad anyway. So why even try when Iam gonna lose in the end.

Mia: Okay, but next time for sure.

To that he nod his head in approval and gave me a warm smile.

Chris: But you sure your hand is okay now, shall I just stay home for today? On the second thought, I think Justin can organise the volunteer team.

Poor Justin, but who told him to befriend dad.

Mia: As much as I love the idea , no. I know you are quite busy these days and moreover if anything happen, I'll directly call you.

Jace: Don't worry Chris, Iam gonna stay here with her today.

He is? How come I never knew about such things anymore.

Mia: You are?

Chris: That's a relieved then.

I look at dad in displease while he just look at me and give me an innocent shrug. That sly old man of mine.

Mia: But what about your work? You are always busy, go to work. Iam okay.

Chris: You are more important.

Mia: Dad!!!!

What kind of big fat pressure is that.

Chris: That's what his eyes says, I was just interpreting, don't blame me.

And he raised his hand and back away from the table and with that walk away to his room. Must be to change for work.

But as soon as he vanished from the corner he comes back out.

Chris: Jace, I need to discuss the first shipment with you. Can you spare me a minute please?

Jace: Sure.

And they both leave this time towards dad's study.

Justin: They gone?

Mia: Umm.

He did carry out with him a glass of water which make me chuckle looking at it.

Justin: I know, but I had nothing else to do so I feel the cups with water..

Mia: Cups?

Justin: No cup.

Mia: Better be.

Simply because I hate doing dishes. Am I the only one, I bet its not.

Justin: But on a serious note , you sure your hands okay?

Mia: Of course it has to be, after all you study how to treat such a wound just for me didn't you?

Justin: Now this is second time, I break you wrist. How irresponsible.

Actually when we were younger he accidentally broke my wrist when he fell down from a tree branch and onto me. Actually that was how we meet.

That time, I was crying hard and he did not know what to do until my dad come and get me. Afterwards when we meet by the tree again he promise, the next time I got hurt again he would have learn how to fix it and treat me as an apology for hurting me.

Mia: I can't believe you really end up keeping your promise.

How sweet, time does fly, we meet when we were both a child and even now when we are adults we are still together with nothing changed.

Justin: Of course, its my first promise to you. I had to keep it.

Both of us smile reminiscing those sweet memory but I accidentally move my hand a bit flinching in the process and the guilt storm back to his eye in a lightening speed.

Justin: It must have hurt a lot, Iam really sorry.

Maybe I have teased him too much, he really look scared this time.

Mia: Emm, it hurt a lot. So why don't you give me one more promise like last time.

Justin(eager) :Okay! What promise do you want this time.

Mia: Okay the next time I break something, you have to serve me with anything I ask for with no objection.

Justin: At your service anytime.

Mia: Then deal?

Jace: Deal.

And he get up and did a little bow. I thought he wont like it but it looks like he is a bit too eager to do it for me. What a great friend I have.

As we were laughing to our self Jace and dad comes back.

Chris(super worried) : Okay, Iam leaving now. Mia take care okay and if anything happens call me okay?

Mia: Okay okay! Its just a fracture nothing will happen. And Jace is gonna here as well so nothing will happen.

Jeez. They are talking as if both my hands are chop off. But then again this just show that they care so I cant really complain.

Chris: Okay then, Iam going now. Come on Justin

.

Justin: Okay, see you Mia.

Mia: Wait he is coming with you?

Chris: Of course.

And with that they left. They act as if them going together is a given and Iam the weird one for even asking.

Mia: Seriously Jace, is Justin my friend or dad's?

Jace: Oh believe me, I have my doubts as well.

With that Jace did the dishes and clean the table while I entertain myself by looking at his handsome face.

Jace: You are staring too long angel.

Mia: Why? Can't I?

And I look at him innocently making him look at me in suspicion. But he is not known for one to back down as well.

Jace: Of course you can, I was just about to ask if you want a closer view.

And he suddenly comes closer and rest his face on his wrist right in front of me.

I smile at him and give a peck at both of his cheeks.

Mia: A gift for being such a handsome boyfriend.

Jace: I thought my handsomeness deserve more reward? Don't you think so too angel?

And he point at his lips making me laugh.

But anyway I also gave him a long peck on his lips.

Jace: Now that's what Iam talking about. I should probably try to be more handsome everyday to receive this gift daily.

Mia: You should, I really enjoy giving them as well.

Jace: my bold angel.

And he caress my cheeks and give a long peck on my forehead and a quick peck on my lips as well. And yes Iam not really a cool type, Iam blushing like a red tomato right now.

Jace: And tomato angel has also arrived.

That make me quickly hide my face by putting my face on his shoulder cause eye contact is no good right now.

Jace: Okay, I was just joking around with you. Now what do you want to do.

Hearing that I quickly look up.

Mia: Movie.

Mia,Jace: Friends binge watching.

And that make me grin while he just chuckle.

Jace: Come on then.

And he quickly lift me up carrying me towards the living room.

Mia: I hurt my hand not my leg Jace.

Jace: And?

Mia: Damn it, once again.

That earn me another chuckle from Jace. And like that we spent the day laughing on the show as well as our self.
