24. My wholesome family.

Mia's point of view.

After a while of the four of us just sitting around, dad insist on having another test just to be sure cause my head keep on hurting.

So we did do a test, after which the result was, nothing was wrong with me, like I insist. But my old guy just worry too much.

It turns out because my mind goes through too much stress and pressure remembering all the bottled up memories, the stress become the pain. It was one of the side affect of my long time amneasia.

But other than that, everything was proven to be fine. So finally we were going back home from Litan.

We are currently getting ready to leave, oh wait wrong wording. They are getting ready to leave while Iam here in the hospital room munching on an apple.

Ah! I can't wait to have my meal, Iam so hungry. But all of them are busy right now and I can do nothing on my own, one beacause of my still hurting head, second my hand and third Iam still weak from the fall earlier so moving around freely is not an option yet. Thinking about it, what a long day this has been.

But talking about that, its already near midnight now. Its around 11:30 right now. It really has been a long long day.

But rest is not an option yet,right now Jace has gone to dismiss or as he call it have a word with all his security staff involve during the volunteer work, which Iam very sure is definitely not a volunteer. I mean situation like going because of fear that you will likely be fired if you say otherwise is not a volunteer. But Jace still call it volunteer.

On the other hand, Justin and dad has gone to also discuss the parting of the medical staff who came along. Why do I fear this side is also not volunteer!!

But nontheless the good news is that, the children are safe and the police have done everything to notify and get each of their guardian here. So now everyone is fine and save. Actually most of them have gone home or to a different hospital by now as they are not from here. And the police has also left along with them.

And about the accident we decide not to take any legal action or anything like that. Dad and Jace were a little unhappy about this and nearly punch the driver but thats besides the point.

It was a literal accident and nothing else, apparently the brake suddenly fail making the driver lose control and coincidentally that was when they ran into my car and the rest is history.

Everything was settled peacefully as all the parents, me , the teachers , the driver with the police decide to not dig of this any further. What has happen has already happen and all of us were just glad nothing worse happen, so gladly everything was drop and finished there.

While thinking about all this I realise, Iam already on my third apple, Iam just really hungry. Anyway while I was munching away dad, Justin and Jace come back at the same time. What a timing this dudes have! Bravo!

Mia: Ready to go?

Saying that I try taking another apple from the bowl and stand up. But I couldn't take it as my one hand is not working and my other hand is holding a half eaten apple by my mouth which is munching on it. I just wanted to take extra for later, like I have said, Iam very hungry.

Seeing that Iam trying to get another piece, Justin look at me weirdly while Dad just look blankly at my action with no comment.

While Jace look amused at my action but never the less he take an apple and raised it up showing me that he have got it for me making me smile widely at him while still eating the other apple of course.

Justin: And like that greedy Mia is born, like we havent had enough of bad Mia's yet.

Mia: What! Iam just hungry.

I said that with my mouth full so it comes out a bit muffled but they understand me anyway.

Juatin just tch at me and take one apple himself from the bowl making me glare at him.

Justin: Oh Come On! Jace still have one with him for you. You cant seriously be jealous of this.

I really am becoming greedy!!

Mia: Okay, Okay Iam sorry. I just can't help it, Iam just too hungry and then I saw my apple and then you taking it and then eating it and it just make me angry. Ah! whatever, so about going home?

When I changed the topic Justin look at me in disbelieve. What does he wanna talk about, the apple the whole night or something.

Justin: What the! Is that all you have to say?

Mia: Why, shall I bow or something?

And with that I look at him with a look that says "shall I". Which make him irritated cause obviously he cant make me, dad is standing right there even if we ignore Jace ignorantly.

Justin: Ohh that little really.

And he clench his hand in a fist while I make weird faces to him. But before we can go on further and we can go on further, but Jace step in.

Jace: Stop! Justin stop being a child.

I tell you, Jace look mature only because Justin and me are wayy too childish.

Justin: It was not only me, tell Mia too.

And he look at me pointing an accusing finger while I just give him a simple shrug making him more irritated.

Justin: Okay I admit what I just said was childish from my part, but tell Mia too.

Pfft. What the point in admitting if he is gonna say it again.

Chris: Anyways, Mia if you are hungry why dont we grab a bite before we leave?

I guess we are avoiding Justin again.

Justin: Hey, Iam hungry too why do you only ask her?

Its like he is the jealous son dad never had. Sometimes I really doubts whether he is really not dad's son.

Chris: Cause you didn't tell me you are?

Justin: Iam literally fighting for an apple here. What do you mean you dont know.

And to make his point, he made an exaggerated action by showing his now bodyless looking apple.

Mia: Dad! Its okay, I wanna eat properly when I get home. Its already so late, no need for the hastle.

And as I finish my apple when I say that, Jace give me the apple he is using for me. So I offer him a bite which he decline. So I start eating it again.

Justin: Hello!!!!

Jace: Okay then let get going shall we.

Hmm! Ignoring Justin time is not done yet, I guess.

Chris: Oh, Me and Justin have to go with the others. So I guess Mia and Jace, you have to go together.

Mia: No problem by me, Iam not driving anyway.

As I say that Jace also says okay.

Chris: Okay then.

With that we all went out to the parking lot which is besides the busy street, which is very calm right now. I guess the city is in a light slumber after the busy day.

As we reach the car, Jace help me to the car and run off somewhere asking me to wait. After about five minutes he came back with two bag of shopping back full of snacks. It has everything from chips to bread to drinks to cookies and even to ice cream. Its like he just grap everything he can get. Looking at all this makes me salivate immediately. I really am really hungry.

Mia: Thank you, you are best.

I even gave him a quick hug, if you could call it a hug with my plasted hand and all. But he get the point anyway.

Jace: My pleasure.

Mia: Oh wait a minute.

And I jump out of the car, making Jace to shout to be careful.

Saying Iam fine, I rush to the car next to us and knock on their window glass.

As I knock, Justin look at me weirdly as we can see each other through the glass but he did slide down the window.

Justin: Why? You had a fight with Jace already? Make up with him quickly, we dont have a seat for you here.

Aii this ungrateful child. I should have just abondoned him.

Mia: Tch, I should have just leave you to be hungry.

Justin: What do you mean? You did leave me to be hungry, if you have already forgotten.

Well he did have a point, that ignoring Justin time did went on till we part ways at the cars so. I guess I can't abondoned him yet then.

Mia: I know, but Taaataahhh.

And I lift up the one bag I was carrying for him with snacks inside. Actually its a see through bag so he can tell its all snack.

Justin: Oh my god, Jace really is the best.

Saying that he quickly pop out of the window and snatch the snack bag right out of my arm.

Mia: Hey! Iam the one who brought it for you, what do you mean Jace is best.

I take back all my word. He is an ungrateful child, I should have never share with him. Dont I deserve even a small thanks, I mean Jace already have mine so I declare he dont need one more.

Justin: Because Mia Pia, I knew Jace will not let you be hungry that long but you on the other hand will let yourself be hungry and wont care.

Well that is true,Jace and his caring nature is no joke. That guy caring nature is the reasin why Iam living such a comfy life. I did find myself the best boyfriend. Good job Mia, good job.

Mia: Well you get a point.

Justin: I always do, and stop praising yourself in your head. Its all over your face. Eww.

Whats with all of them knowing everything I think off, is there no privacy around here.

Mia: You want me to take it back?

Justin: Oh! Dont just stand there Mia, its cold outside. You will get cold if you keep on standing there. Come on, go back, tch making me worried.

He said this while he hide his snack back and dial up the window glass a little making me chuckle. We really can be childish at times, but I love us like this.

Mia: Where is dad?

Justin: Run in to take something, he will be out soon.

Mia: Okay, Iam going now, see you later. Tell dad too.

Justin: Okay, tell Jace to drive save and you too, sit savely I guess.

While saying that and already munching on the snacks he look at me confusely.

Weirdo!! Anyway with that I got back and get in the car at which Jace is waiting for me ready to take off.

Mia: Okay, Iam ready to go.

Jace: Done with your snack sharing with Justin.

Mia(smiling): Yup!

Wait a minute there were two bag which means.

Mia: Wait you buy two cause you knew didnt you?

He knew I was gonna share?

Mia: How did you even knew?

Jace: Cause it you and Justin, you guys might bicker like a five year old but one having food and not sharing with the other one when both are hungry is just impossible among you guys.

See no privacy of thought. But I love this too much to care.

Mia: You know me best, you really are the best and dont answer I know. It kills all the mood.

Jace: Seeing that you know what I was going to answer, you are not doing bad yourself darling.

Mia: I know.

Justin: Hey!!!

Smiling at him, I was about to eat when I saw all the packet are open and kept ready with even the drinks loosely open. Oh! My hand, I cant open it myself.

Jace really is the very best.

Mia: Thank you, this is too sweet.

When I say that Jace just smile at me.

Jace: Anytime my angel.

I was eating and also feeding Jace at the same time. Iam in charge of snacks eating I guess, since he is driving.

Mia: Ahhh! How good!!

Justin: Hmm? The snacks?

Mia: Nop! Being with you right now.

When I say that, for a while Jace seriously look flustered and awed. This is a rare occassion. But him being Jace he snap out of it quickly and I dont feel the need to point it out if he dont wanna let me know.

Justin: Well Iam a good company after all.

When he say that I just shook my head looking at him acting disapproval. After that we had a moment of silence with me eating and feeding him of course. But after a while he spoke.

Justin: You must have been scared.

Hmm, I really was.

Mia: I was really really scared but even during the fall and being stuck in that place, I never thought of being dead. That fear that I might die here never occur to me.

When I said that he look at me curiously. So i take that as my cue to continue.

Mia: The only thing I keep on thinking about was, Iam doomed when Jace, dad and Justin find me. They are so gonna scold me for hours. Even when I was falling or was falling unconcious, I keep on thinking I hope they find me before I woke up and nothing else. How weird.

When I said that he chuckle softly but it doesnt seems like a chuckle of amusement rather it seems like an expression of distain.

Jace: I wish I can take that from you.

Mia: Hmm?

Jace: The unconditional trust you have for people around you.

Heh? Isn't that suppose to be a good thing to have?

Mia: Why? Isn't is suppose to make you happy that I trust you completely. Why would you wanna take that?

Jace: Because it scared me?

Mia(confuse): Because I trust you?

Jace: No,because you might get hurt because of it. It scared me to think of what might happen to you if someone betray you one day when you trust them this much. That thought scared me to my core.

Tch Jace and his unnecessary worries.

Mia: Pfft! Dont worry about it,I have it all figured out.

When I said that he look at me curiously yet suspiciously.

Jace: You have?

Mia:Umm, you see dad cant betray me cause its dad. Why will he even do that. Justin can't either cause I would have killed him before he even think of it. And obviously you wont either. So Iam never getting hurt. The love I have for others is not enough to hurt me. Only you guys have that, so Iam safe forever.

And I look at him expectantly but I dont know why I did that either. Was I expecting praise? Maybe.

Jace: That just look like a diagram of your trust graph rather than a"figured out way to me".

No! It look like a plan to me though unless.

Mia: Why? Will you ever hurt or betray me?

When I say that he completely pause for a while and his eye fill with fear and guilt but in just a second it vanished again making me doubt whether I see it at all. But he quickly divert his face and face the road again. Weird or just driving, who knows.

Jace: Of course not!!

Mia: See problem solved.

As I say that he simply chuckle again.

Jace: How simple.

Mia: Of course, I like things simple. You should follow my step if you wanna be happy as well.

Jace: Iam right after you.

After that we talk about all kind of things and before I know it, I must have fallen asleep in the car again.

Cause the next time I woke up, I was at my bed with Jace shaking me awake.

Jace: Come on, come eat something first and then sleep as much as you want alright?

Mia: I think just sleepiing is better.

And I pull the comforter up and turn the other way, all ready to sleep again.

Jace: Well you also think going to Litan alone is good.

I knew, I wont be free from that one without a suffering.

Mia: Okay, Iam up. I knew you guys will not let that just pass.

With that I got up and I was expecting a light meal but it was not at all light. Warm rice was kept with amazing aroma with green looking side dish vegies in many kind and a deliciously cook fish was kept.

In no time I was digging in along with Justin and dad who by the way have also reach home.

And as I saw all of us just gobbling down the food in complete silence, with no one talking or even looking at each other at 3 in the morning. The moment seems so funny to me making me laugh out.

Which make all of them stop their eating and look up at me strangely.

Mia: Just look at us, eating like a pig at three in the morning and that too in a doctor's coat, a patience suit and a well made tuxedo.

When I say that all of us look at each other and after a while just burst out laughing all together at the irony of the moment. And like that even though we were all dressed oddly and is eating at an odd timing and had a very hard day, we all laugh about and have a hearty meal.

After that all of us decide to go to sleep, as all of us have had a very tiring and stressfull day.

But before I feel asleep I say my prayers to god, thanking him for the people who are in my life, cause I knew without them even in a million years, I wont ever be able to get through such a truamatic and dark day with such a bright and light laughter with no care of what had happen. To me what had happen is just something unfortunate that had happen and nothing more than that, all thanks to the support and love I recieved from my family. And that night I remember sleeping in peace with not even a nightmare being able to touch me.
