Chapter 5
The tension at John’s former home was palpable. His parents, now aware of his sudden disappearance, grew desperate. Isabella paced the living room while John's father, Anthony, sat brooding, formulating a plan. They had always counted on controlling john to secure access to the Crestwell fortune and rule the hyporium tech company. With him gone, their ambitions teetered on the edge of collapse. confusion spread and frustration boiled in there blood. The silence was broken by Anthony.
“We need to get him back,” Anthony said, breaking the heavy silence. “If he stays with Damian, he’ll become untouchable. Damian will never let anyone, even the president get close to him. He will protect him more than he had ever protected anything in the world. Anthony said with a pulse. We must get him back and make him sign the transfer of his property into our name if not, all our efforts goes to waste.”
“But how? He’s not just some rebellious teenager running away and plus we both know that boy is not a dumb boy. To crown it all up, He’s with your father. Damian will guide him and watch him like a hawk,” Isabella replied, her voice laced with frustration. “Damian will protect him at all costs.” she whispered.
“We’ll find a way,” Anthony said firmly. “If we don’t, everything we’ve worked for will slip away. That boy is my Golden ticket to a greater life. I won't just let this opportunity pass me by. I've come this far. I even had to poisoned and killed my wife. I won't stop now.” Anthony said as he looked at the pic of him, John and his mother.
Meanwhile, Dimitri, a shadowy figure from Lily’s past, arrived unannounced at her house. Banging at the door. Lilly taught it was Alara and hurried to answer the door. when she opened the door, Lilly froze when she saw him at her doorstep. His piercing gaze and calm demeanor concealed the storm he brought with him.
“You’re coming with me, go get dressed” Dimitri said, his voice leaving no room for argument.
“What do you mean I'm coming with you and where to?” Lily asked, her voice trembling.
“To the country John’s in. You’ll understand everything soon enough,” Dimitri replied cryptically as he walked towards the car.
Lily reluctantly agreed. Deep down, she felt her connection to John wasn’t entirely severed, and she needed answers. Deep down, she knew she needed john. She got dressed and They departed under the cover of night, leaving no trace behind.
In the Hyperion company, John had quickly immersed himself in the operations of Crestwell Technologies. His grandfather, Damian, marveled at how swiftly John adapted to the world of advanced coding and business management. It was as if the legacy of innovation truly ran in his veins.
“You’re a natural john. Damian remarked one evening as he observed John navigating complex algorithms. I must say m, you're even better than your mother was at your age. I'm sure she will be proud of you". Damian said patting John on his shoulder.
John didn’t respond. His focus was absolute, and his emotions remained locked away, as they had been since the tragedies of his past. but John couldn't help but feel quite sad and very angry at his father when his grandfather talked about his mother.
Despite his progress, John’s life wasn’t without complications. Under the agreement with his grandfather, he married Amara Sinclair in a quiet court ceremony. The arrangement was devoid of affection, a mere transaction to secure their families’ legacies. Amara didn’t object; her heart belonged to another man, a fact she didn’t hide from John and John on the other hand didn't seem to care.
On a quite night as John stared at his laptop in the dinning table, Amara came in. she looked at John as if she had done something wrong and have come to apologize. “you know I’m in love with someone else john. she said in a low and soft voice. By any chance do you want to see him,” she asked.
“No. There's no need and I don’t care who you love, date or even have s*x with,” John replied bluntly. “Do whatever you want. Just don’t get in my way. John said as he close his laptop and stepped out of the room.”
Amara found his indifference unsettling, but she was relieved he didn’t demand more from her. Their relationship was purely functional—a show for the world. In private, they were strangers coexisting under the same roof with noting to talk about and do together.
Back in her home city, Alara grew increasingly worried about Lily’s sudden disappearance. She tried calling her repeatedly, but the calls went unanswered. When she finally tracked Lily’s phone, her heart sank. The location pointed to Noriah—the same country John had fled to but Alara wasn't aware of John presence their.
“She went there?” Alara muttered to herself, confused and determined.
She couldn’t shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong. Without hesitation, Alara packed her bags, took out all her savings and booked a flight to Noriah. Though she had no idea what awaited her there, she was resolved to find Lily and uncover the truth. She had know Lilly for a long time now and Lilly had always been their for her whenever she needed her. she wasn't ready to lose her best friend.
As fate intertwined their paths, Noriah became the epicenter of shifting alliances and buried secrets. Dimitri’s arrival with Lily threatened to disrupt John’s newfound control, while Alara’s pursuit promised to unravel connections she hadn’t yet pieced together.
John, meanwhile, remained focused on building his empire, unaware of the forces converging around him. His heart, though cold, was a fortress of resilience. But even fortresses have cracks, and the shadows of his past were drawing closer.
