Chapter 1
"Neo, today is our third anniversary, and this is the gift I prepared for you." Darcie walked up to the tall, good-looking guy with the gift she had carefully made by hand over the course of several months. She looked up carefully at him, then quickly away, her ears turning a light shade of red.
There was a tie inside the simple but fancy gift box. The dark tie had lines that were sewn together.
Neo took a quick look at it and then turned away. He then said in an angry voice, "This tie you gave me is so ugly." "I really don't like it."
As soon as Neo ended speaking, Darcie's face turned pale from redness. She touched the spot where the needle had poked her while making the tie and rubbed her fingers together. The pain that went through her body helped her see things more clearly. She tried really hard not to cry by biting her bottom lip.
As Neo desperately tried to hold on to anything, Darcie noticed that the tie Neo was wearing was the same type as the one she had given him. "But you've always worn this type of tie," she said. I believed you liked them.
Neo kept his cool and answered in his charming, pleasant voice, saying the words that made Darcie cry. "Yes, I liked them once." But I stopped liking them when you gave me this tie. Everything that is linked to you makes me sick. I will no longer wear this style of tie from now on.
Just as he said this, he ripped the tie off with force and threw it on the floor.
There were so many tears in Darcie's eyes that she could no longer hold the gift box. A loud bang was heard as it hit the ground.
Neo made a mean face when he saw Darcie's tears. "Crying all the time. What a pain. Are you going to tell grandpa again how bad things are? Why would I have married you if it wasn't to make him happy? There's a chance that the time you saved grandpa three years ago was just another trick you pulled to get me to marry you. "How could you be so sneaky?"
"No, I'm not..." Neo thought Darcie's weak response was annoying.
Neo had a cold and mean look on his face. "Under the guise of a gift, don't think I don't know what you really want."
The next second, Neo pulled Darcie against her will into his arms.
Even though it was getting warmer around them, Darcie still felt cold. The man didn't bother with any fore-play. He just started being violent, which made her body hurt so badly. He wouldn't give in, no matter how much she begged. She had no choice but to go through the pain, even though it made her face pale and her forehead sweaty.
At that very moment, a certain a call came in on his phone.Darcie felt the man on top of her stop and pull away quickly to answer the phone. "Hello, Mabel. Why are you calling me out of the blue?" Is something wrong?"
The man's cold behaviour towards her was very different from his soft voice he used to answer the call.
Darcie hid her face and cried because she was in so much pain. Neo was talking to someone named Mabel, and she knew that because that was Neo’s mistress.
Neo had Mabel hidden deep inside his heart. No matter where he was or what he was doing, he would always stop right away when Mabel called him over the past three years, even when he was with her. He would always leave the house to attend to Mabel.
Neo never avoided Darcie when he talked on the phone with her. He might have also wanted her to see it. Neo was always promising Mabel something at the end of every call and this time was no different. "Mabel, don't be afraid. I'll get Darcie to agree to the split up right away. I'll then come marry you!"
Even though Darcie had her eyes closed, she could tell that Neo was happy when he said that. When he talked to Darcie again after hanging up the phone, his voice became cold and impatient. "The divorce agreement is ready." Sign it right away. Make me wait one more second and I will forget I know you and deal with you.
Darcie was weak, like a broken doll, but she said, "I don’t want us to get a divorce."
Neo sneered and said, forceful in his tone, "You have no say in this! Mabel is back, and I'm going to pick her up. I hope you have signed the papers by the time I return, or else don't blame me for using force!"
Neo quickly got dressed, not even glancing at Darcie, and left.
At that moment, Darcie snapped back to reality. She forced herself to get out of bed, ignoring the discomfort in her body, and ran after Neo, pleading, "Don't leave, Neo. I can be well-behaved and obedient. No, no, tell me what kind of woman you like. I'll learn, and I can become what you like. Can we not divorce, please? I beg you..."
"You're crazy!" Seeing Darcie like this, Neo looked at her with contempt, not wanting to be entangled with her anymore.
However, Neo had another idea. He approached Darcie with a gentle smile on his face, but then grabbed her chin forcefully and said viciously, "If I wanted you to die and disappear forever from my sight, would you be willing to do that? I bet you wouldn't."
Without waiting for Darcie's answer, he turned around to leave. The next second, he felt his arm being grabbed, and Darcie's soft, quiet voice reached his ears. "If that's what you want, I'm willing."
Neo's body paused for a moment, his eyes flashed with a menacing light, as he looked at Darcie and said word by word, "Darcie, do you know? You are as pitiful as a stray dog right now, and I do not care about anyone like this!"
After these words, Neo forcefully pulled Darcie's hand off his arm and pushed her away.
Darcie was already feeling unwell, and even when standing, her legs were trembling . At this moment, she was suddenly pushed away by Neo, she lost her footing, and fell directly towards the corner of the wall.
When Neo saw Darcie about to fall, he instinctively reached out to grab her, but then pulled his hand back, like a devil that he was.
She is just falling, and since Darcie is willing to die for him, what could be the problem?
Moreover, she is the one being annoying by grabbing his arm. It would be better if she fell into a coma!
Darcie didn't know Neo's malicious thoughts, and even if she did, she had no time to deal with them.
"Bang!" Her head hit the corner of the wall, making a loud thump.
Bright red blood flowed out along with the bone-chilling pain, blurring Darcie's eyes. It seemed as if a switch had been triggered in her mind, and many familiar yet strange scenes flooded into her consciousness, quickly filling the missing and forgotten parts.
