Chapter 2

"Okay, so what else do you know about your condition?" Jace asked, as they got into Jace's car. Usually they take Drey's, but given circumstances, they didn't want to waste time going all the way to her house, so they jumped in his Charger and headed out. "Deadass, I legit just learned about these things. The most I've done was well...survive a shotgun shot to the chest, fall into some black ass void pit, swirl some type of weird ass essence around my fingers, oh and apparently I can change my looks a little. Its freaky as f**k but cool" she answers with a shrug. As they pulled up to a red light, Drey pulled out a blunt out of her pocket and proceeded to light it. Jace looked over at her with a raised eyebrow. "Really bro?" he said, driving off at the green light. "What? I've been through mad s**t in the past couple of hours, from being shot to suddenly having shadowy powers like Raven or something. I think this time I actually deserve this one" she said, taking a long pull. She let out a deep exhale as she leaned her head back on the seat. "Besides that, I still don't know what the hell these powers can do" "Why don't you get your lazy ass up and find out? You never know what you can discover" the faded voice said, making Drey jump and look around. What the hell? Please tell me I'm not losing it, she thought, relaxing back in the chair, taking another pull. "Well, why don't we find out what you can do then? Hey, how bout it? Right after school, we drive out to the island, pick up some kush, drinks and snacks, go up to Travis, and practice there, and see what you can do. You never know what you may be able to do!" "Or Accomplish" "Shut the f**k up" Drey hissed, glaring out the window. "What did you say?" Jace asked, pulling up into the parking spot, across from the school. Drey shook her head, returning to reality. "I said sure why not", She replied in a sarcastic manner. The two exited Jace's car and walked up to school. "Don't sound so down about it damn, you'd think you'd be more excited about it. you're lokey like Deadpool or something" he exclaimed as they walked up to their lockers. "My guy, first of all, Deadpool has a whole other power and...other issues!" "So you have issues!" She raised her eyebrow at him while he shrugged. "Just sayin", Drey rolled her eyes and closed her locker. Before she could move, she felt a force knock hard into her, causing her to stagger and the other figure to fall on the ground. Drey growled and turned around to give whoever it was a piece of her mind, but annoyance soon changed to curiosity as she observed the groaning female figure on the ground. She took in the slender petite figure, from the knee-high boots, denim jeans to the light blue crop top and denim jacket. She took in her dark brown hair and jade green eyes. It was like a thread was spun between them. Drey was dumbstruck for the first time because of this melanin beauty. Drey shook her head and bent down to the girl's seat level. "Hey you good?" she asked her, helping her pick her books and stuff up. The girl hid behind her hair, shyly picking up her books. "Yeah I'm good" They both stood back up to regular level. For the first time, Drey didn't even know what to say or do. It was like she turned into some shy nerd. The f**k is wrong with me? she thought. Come on get your freaking head together and TALK! Her mind screamed. "She's pretty" the voiced piped. Not what I meant when I said talk! "Looks like you're to p***y to talk to her" First of all, f**k you. Second, shut up so I can think straight! "Like that'll help you" Again, f**k off! "My bad I didn't know you were behind me" Drey finally said, handing the girl her books. The girl shyly took her books, moving her hair back behind her ear. "No no I bumped into you. I should apologize", she said, shyly. Drey managed to regain her composure and smirked at the girl while raising an eyebrow at her. "You don't have to, but hey who am I to stop your conscience." That made the girl laugh, causing Drey to smile. She held her hand to the girl. "I'm Drey". The girl shook her hand. "My name is Ria. I hope we get to talk more. Don't want to be late for class. See you around", she says, smiling as she walks off to class. Drey watched her go and smiled as the girl looked back at her with a smile. Drey was so captivated by Ria that she didn't hear Jace walk up behind her. "Whipped" He whispered in her ear, causing her to jump and elbow him in the ribs. The impact made him gasp and double over laughing and coughing. "Come on you d**k. We got class" She grumbled, walking off in the direction of their class, with Jace behind her snickering.
