Kwan!

Razak's POV. The dark woods were more silent than usual as I watched my pack retreat. The stench of defeat lingered in the air, but I was not one to give up easily. I had waited too long, too long for this moment! Lila would be ours, and nothing could ever change that. “Razak.” One of my men approached, his head bowed in submission before he spoke. “What are your orders?” “Keep an eye on her.” I growled, my voice low and menacing. The thought of her getting away was making me angry. “I want to know her every move. Do not let her out of your sight or you will be held accountable.” “Yes, Alpha.” He replied, disappearing into the shadows with a few others. I turned my gaze back to the path where Lila and Raze had disappeared from. It was a mistake to let her go. I should have fought harder for her. She was more powerful than she could ever know, and soon, that power would be ours, in good time. I knew all about her potential, to an extent in the very least, and I was determined to see it being utilised the way it should have. “Gloria!” I called out, my voice echoing through the trees. A figure came out of the darkness, her eyes glowing with the same intensity as mine. My daughter was as ruthless as she was beautiful, a perfect blend of our lineage. She took after me, and I was proud. “Father.” She said, her voice very soft and lovely. “What do you need me to do?” “I only need you to return home.” I instructed, scratching my chin. “Go there, and prepare for the next phase. Lila will join us, whether she wants to or not. And when she does, we will be unstoppable.” “Of course, father, nothing can stop our glory.” Gloria replied with a wicked smile. “She will be ours.” As she turned back to leave, I stopped her abruptly. “And Gloria!” She turned back to look at me with a small frown. “Yes, father? Anything else you want to tell me?” “Be careful, there’s a lot going on, and I don’t want you getting…” “You should know that I can handle myself and anyone else quite easily.” She scoffs, waving my words aside with a flick of her hand. I nod with a smirk on my face. She was my daughter, after all. As Gloria vanished into the night, I couldn't help but feel a bit of excitement. I was anticipating something good. The pieces were falling into place. It was only a matter of time before Lila realised where she truly belonged. - - Lila's POV. The morning light filtered through the curtains as I lay in bed, luckily for me. I wasn’t interested in having my sight out out by the morning sun. The events of the previous night was still fresh, playing over in my mind. Raze's warmth beside me was an extreme contrast to the cold silence between us. We hadn't spoken since he had saved me from the dark wolves. His touch had been tender, but his words had been harsh. I didn't understand him, and honestly, I wasn't sure I wanted to. I slipped out of bed quietly, careful not to wake him, and dressed in silence. The claims of the prophecy, the council's decision, and Razak's sinister words all bore down on me. I needed to clear my head. Just a while ago, my problems were extremely small in comparison to what I had to face now. In the hallway, I bumped into a servant girl carrying a tray of food back to the kitchen, and she almost lost her footing. Then she looked up at me with wide, beautiful eyes. “Sorry, Miss.” She mumbled, bowing her head a bit too low. “It's alright.” I said, forcing a smile. “What's your name?” “Elena.” She replied, her voice barely audible. She seemed kind of nice, and I had nobody to talk to in the house, so I shrugged. “Nice to meet you, Elena.” I said, grinning from ear to ear. “I could use a friend around here.” Her eyes lit up, and she smiled shyly. “Really? I'd like that.” We walked together down the corridor, and for the first time in what felt like ages, I felt a sense of normalcy. Elena was sweet and kind, and talking to her eased some of the tension that had been building inside me. I almost felt free. “Tell me about yourself, Elena.” I said, genuinely curious. “There's not much to tell.” She replied with a shrug. “I've been a servant here for as long as I can remember. But I love it here. The pack is my family, and I’m treated well. It’s not so bad.” I nodded, feeling a pang of envy, as I wanted that kind of simplicity in love and life. “Family is the most important thing.” As we reached the kitchen, a sudden, overwhelming sensation washed over me. My vision blurred, and I felt something bitter in my soul. It suddenly felt like a dark, sinister presence took hold of me. I could feel, taste and hear everything suddenly, and it seemed like I was losing control of my own body. I staggered, gripping the edge of the table for support. “Lila! Miss! Are you alright?” Elena asked, but I could hear the fear in her voice, which had gone an octave high. And I couldn't answer. There was a cold, terrifying voice speaking in my mind, and I felt a surge of uncontrollable rage. My body moved on its own, and my hands reached out towards Elena. “Stay back!” I heard myself snarl, but it wasn't my voice. It was the first time I was hearing it, but I knew that that was what was threatening my life as it was It was Kwan, the demon wolf. Elena's eyes widened in terror as I advanced on her, and she backed away. I could taste her fear. “Lila, please, what's happening?” I fought with everything I had to regain control, but Kwan's influence was too strong. I had lost control of myself, and my vision darkened. I felt myself slipping away. Just as I was about to lash out, a sharp pain shot through my head, and I collapsed to the floor in a crumpled heap. When I opened my eyes, Elena was gone, and Raze stood over me, his expression a mix of anger and concern. More of anger. “Lila!” He said, his voice tight. “Care to tell me what happened over there?” “I... I don't know.” I stammered, my body trembling. “Kwan... he took over.” Raze's jaw clenched, and he drew me to my feet. “We need to figure this out. Now.” As we walked back to the bedroom, the pressure of what had just happened pressed down on me. Kwan's power was growing, and I was losing control. The fear of what I might do, who I might hurt, was overwhelming, and I didn’t think I could live with myself if something went too far. And then I remembered Razak's words. “You belong with us.” He has said. Was it true? Was my fate already sealed?
