Chapter 17

LOGAN'S P.O.V ‎Okayy, why did I take a picture of Laurey? What has gotten into me? ‎That should be considered invasion of privacy right? ‎Fuck... What the hell am I doing? ‎ I should keep my distance because whatever the hell I'm feeling, I don't like it one bit. ‎She's supposed to be like a little sister to me, since she's Lexi's friend. Yet here I was, unable to put my phone down. ‎ 'Damn... This isn't good.' ‎I threw my phone on the bed and attempted to sleep, but ended up grabbing the phone again and staring at her picture for I don't know how long. ‎ ‎Goddamnit.... ‎ ‎~~~ ‎BLAKE'S P.O.V ‎I stepped out of the shower with a towel wrapped tightly around my waist and using another towel to dry my hair. ‎ ‎I haven't been able to get the image of Lexi hugging and pecking another guy out of my head. I've been thinking about it all day. Why am I getting so worked up on this? It's not like she's my girlfriend or anything. ‎ ‎I ruffled my hair in frustration and wore my sweatpants. ‎"Blake! Come down for dinner." my mum shouted from the living room. ‎"I'll be there soon, Mum." I shouted back, putting on a tee. ‎I hurried downstairs and met Gaby at the dining table. ‎"Blakey!" she ran towards me and hugged me. ‎ "Gaby! How's my little princess doing?" I smiled, kissing her forehead. ‎"I'm fine Blakey! How was school?" she asked, pinching my cheeks. ‎"It was fine, princess. Hope you didn't disturb Mummy at home?" I asked her while heading to the dining table. ‎She just giggled and shook her head. ‎ I smiled and placed her on a chair and sat down next to her. ‎ ‎My mum came out of the kitchen and dished out the food and we prayed before we started eating. ‎"How was work today, Mum?" I asked, while chewing my food. ‎"It was okay, dear. Just a bit stressful." she replied with a smile. ‎"Mum... How many times have I told you not to stress yourself?" I asked worriedly, holding her hand. ‎"I'm fine Blake. You don't need to worry about me, okay?" ‎"But Mum... Don't stress yourself too much, okay? If you're tired, you can just quit." ‎She chuckled. "I'm fine. Don't worry about me. You're such a a big boy now. I'm sure your dad will be so proud of you, wherever he is." she smiled with tears in her eyes. ‎"He's watching over us, Ma." I smiled, tightening my grip on her hand. ‎She nodded her head and we continued eating, talking about random things. ‎ ‎My dad died when I was 13 years old. He had a brain tumor, he did all the surgeries and took all the medicines but didn't make it. He was a great father and husband. Even though he had a busy schedule, he always made time for family. Always buying gifts for Mum, even if it was a single rose. Always helping me with my assignments despite his work. His death really affected our family. ‎My mum later got to know she was pregnant with his child, after his death. Gaby was born and he didn't get to see his daughter before he died. Gaby didn't have the opportunity to experience fatherly love. ‎ ‎That's why from that day forward, I made an oath to always protect my Mum and sister. I could do ANYTHING for them, as long as it makes them happy. They were my family, and I would always protect them. ‎ ‎~~~ ‎Cherish the people you love while they're still here. Not everyone gets a second chance 🌹 ‎
