LEXI'S POV
Why did he ignore me like that?
Blake would have smiled back at me before, instead he just kept a straight face now.
Did I do something wrong?
Or did he just not see me?
I just sighed and continued cleaning.
"Hey! What's with the long face?" Laurey asked with a curious look.
"Oh! Nothing...." I quickly put on a fake smile because she looked unconvinced.
"I'll go and clean that area." I pointed to the opposite side of the room and went there before she would ask questions.
I successfully survived cleaning without Laurey asking me any questions.
Thank God... I don't think I can handle any questions right now.
Once we were through with cleaning, I took Laurey to the nearest fast food store near our school to treat her.
We ordered our food and sat down at a booth near the window.
We started eating our food... I mean, Laurey started eating her food; I was busy picking on mine and thinking about Blake's earlier reaction.
Laurey dropped her spoon on her plate forcefully, causing a clanking sound that disrupted my thoughts and made people in the restaurant look at us.
I muttered a quick sorry and looked at Laurey.
"What the hell is wrong with you Laurey?" I whispered.
"I should be the one asking you that question. You've been zoning out for so long. What the hell are you thinking about?" she shot back, glaring at me.
I sighed, rubbing my palms together. I was about to deny it when she beat me to it.
"And don't give me that bullshit that 'it's nothing', because I'm not buying it." she said, pointing an accusing finger at me.
I sighed. "Well..." I hesitated, fiddling with my fingers.
"Hmmm... I'm waiting." she replied, putting a chicken nugget in her mouth.
"Remember back in the storage room, when Blake came in?" I began, staring at her.
"Yeah... I remember. What about it?" she asked, sipping from her juice.
"Forget it... It's nothing."
"Tell me."
"It's nothing, really."
"Lexi..."
I sighed. "Uhm... I smiled at him and he just flat out ignored me."
"Oooh! But why do you care if he ignores you? Didn't you say you didn't like him?" she asked with a smirk, chewing her burger.
I felt my face turning red. "I-I didn't say that!"
"Just focus on the matter at hand." I sighed, scratching my head.
"Sure you didn't." she replied, eyeing me.
"LAUREY!!"
"Ok, ok. Geez... Don't eat me alive. What did you say he did again?" she asked, holding her hands up in surrender.
"He ignored me when I smiled at him." I replied with a pout.
"Hmm... Maybe he had a bad day or he just didn't notice you?" she asked, tilting her head.
"No... It can't be. When I smiled at him, he gave me a blank stare like I did something wrong." I replied, biting my nails.
She rolled her eyes. "Whatever. Just don't think about it again. You'll ask him tomorrow."
I sighed, leaning against the chair.
"Okay... I hope he doesn't ignore me."
"He won't. Now stop, being gloomy and eat your food. You're ruining my appetite." She put a chicken nugget in my mouth and glared at me.
"Yes ma'am." I replied in a muffled response and started eating.
We ate while talking about random things making me forget about the Blake drama for a while.
