Chapter 27

958 Words
Three days later, Stanley called. Cloudtop Villa was finished with its renovations. "Emma, our house is ready. Let's move in today!" Vincent couldn't wait; he was shouting into the phone with great anticpation. Emma, curious, asked, "What house?" "Didn't I tell you? I bought Cloudtop Villa!" Emma jokingly replied, "Vincent, are you bluffing again?" Emma’s disbelief made Vincent sigh helplessly, "Darling, if you don't believe me, just come see for yourself." Vincent's earnest expression had actually convinced Emma that he had bought the villa, but since Vincent wasn't ready to reveal it yet, she wouldn't press further. Pretending to be unsure, she asked, "Did you really buy Cloudtop Villa?" Vincent held his head high. "Of course!" "Hmph!" Emma huffed. "Fine, I'll go with you to see if you're telling the truth." "Sweetheart, I promise not to disappoint you." Vincent then lifted Hope, "Hope, Daddy is taking you to our new home, okay?" Excitedly, Hope clapped her hands. "Okay, Daddy, I want to live in a big house." Vincent chuckled indulgently. "No matter how big the house is, Daddy will give it to you if you want." Then, the family walked out of the apartment. "Darling, let's get in the car!" Vincent led his family into the car. "Vincent, did you rent these cars for the day again?" Emma looked at the Maybach in front of her with a bright smile on her face. Vincent responded, "Darling, I've said it many times. These aren't rented. And I'm being very low-key. Originally, I planned to buy a hundred cars." "I really don't want to ride in a Hummer again. That car is so uncomfortable. The Maybach is discreet and comfortable," Vincent expressed his thoughts. "Fine," Emma listened to Vincent and felt somewhat helpless. "Maybe the Maybach is really more low-key than the Hummer!" After getting into the car, Emma asked, "Vincent, where are we going now?" "We're picking up your Mom and Dad, then heading to our new home!" Meanwhile, at Una and Franklin's apartment, since the banquet incident, the Baron family's attitude towards them had changed significantly. They would come to Una's house every day to fawn over her. Currently, Una sat on the sofa, being served by the entire Baron family as if she were a queen. "Sis, this is a rare fruit I had someone bring back. I heard it's good for the skin," Kim smiled, eager to please. "When are you considering moving back to the Baron family home?" Una took a bite of the fruit and complained, "Not bad, just a bit bland. I prefer sweeter ones." "Yes, yes, yes!" Kim hurriedly agreed. "Auntie, does my massage make you feel comfortable?" Miranda asked cautiously as she kneaded Una's shoulders. Una frowned. "Are you on a diet? Why are you massaging me so weakly?" "Okay, Auntie!" Miranda responded quickly and applied more pressure. Franklin, watching Una behaving like a brat, felt awkward. Especially while facing the overly enthusiastic Baron family, he didn't know how to respond. "Cough cough!" Hunter cleared his throat and asked, "Una, can you introduce King to us? Just having King's attention would instantly elevate the Baron family to the top of the aristocracy in M City!" After hesitating for a moment, Una continued eating her fruit and changed the subject. "Now that the Baron family has gained considerable prestige in M City, do we really need to seek alliances with others?" After shaking his head, Hunter picked up a fruit and lamented, "Each piece of this fruit costs over five hundred dollars. How many can those slum dogs and ordinary workers afford in their lifetime? And those face masks we gave you last night, each one costs hundreds of dollars. Can ordinary people afford them? All of this is the result of our family's continuous efforts to strengthen our position in M City." Una sighed softly. "Actually, I don't even know King." Hunter looked puzzled. "Isn't Vincent King?" Una quickly shook her head. "Vincent isn't King. He's just a friend of King's." Once they heard this, Hunter and the others immediately reacted. "What? He’s not King?! He’s just a friend of King's?" The members of the Baron family froze in place, it took them a moment to regain their composure. Kim, holding a cleaned apple, was about to hand it to Una. But upon regaining his composure, he immediately put the apple into his own mouth. "Hmph! Una, I'm your big brother. You shouldn't lie to me like this. If Vincent isn't King, why didn't you say so earlier? You've made me buy you fruit for nothing!" Kim chomped on the apple as he scolded Una. The other members of the Baron family quickly removed the fruit from the table. Miranda's expression turned sour. She let go of Una's hand, sat on the sofa, and started playing with her phone. "Auntie, you always talk nonsense. You even made me massage you. You have no shame at all!" If she hadn't thought Vincent was King, she wouldn't have been so eager to please Una. "Una, your whole family are liars! We've been so good to you, and you deceived us! No wonder you're all worthless trash!!!" Hunter stood up, his rage reaching new heights. Franklin was stunned. "Dad... I... " Una smiled awkwardly. "Everyone, back to the Baron family estate immediately. I don't want to see these two liars anymore!" Hunter thunderously commanded before Una could finish. "All because of you, Nathan wants to cancel our engagement. From now on, your family is no longer welcome in the Baron family!" Miranda shouted. The thought of being deceived and serving Una like a servant made Kim and Miranda shake with anger. They wished they could tear Una's face to shreds right then and there.
