Chapter 16Doctor Conley charged through NORAD corridors, his armed guards close on his heels. The fuel from his burnt pride and wounded ego was more effective at gassing him through the night than the massive doses of caffeine he typically ingested during one of his work-binges. The muscles in his face twitched, buckling under the fury coursing through the pulsating vein on his neck. He sucked in a breath, then emptied his lungs again in a slow exhale.
