Jocelyn's POV
I leaned into Zane's side and closed my eyes. The past 24 hours had really taken a toll on me between my heat then my first shift. I was surprised I was able to keep my eyes open as long as I had. Just as my eyes shut and I felt my body begin to relax I heard a female's voice in my head. " Close your eye's my sweet girl. I'll make sure nothing happens while your sleeping" I got the warmest feeling through my body before everything seemed to settle into place.
I was woken up by a kiss on my cheek and Zane whispering that we had arrived. I lifted my head to see that it was dark outside but I could see a light glowing for a simple looking cottage that had vines growing up it's sides and what looked like moss and flowers growing on the roof. On the porch waiting for us was a woman that looked to be in her 50's. She was breath taking with her long silver hair pulled over her shoulder in a long braid. She had purple eyes that seemed to glow as she looked at me. She wore a long simple brown dress that reached her ankles and no shoes.
"Well don't stand there all day. You have questions and I have answers. I've got some stew on the fire so you might as well come in and eat." She said before turning and heading back inside. Xander got out of the truck and walked around to Zane's side. Zane reached in and took my hand, helping me down from the truck. As we began walking towards the cottage Zane placed his arm around my waist and leaned in " Don't worry, we've known Sybil since we were kids. Her bark is worse than her bite. She's a little rough around the edges but she''ll do anything for people she cares for. And she's like a grandmother to us"
"I heard that, and if you don't want me turning you into a snail you wont call me that again!I'm still in my prime." Came Sybil's voice from just inside the doorway.
I chuckled and looked up to Xander and Zane and whispered " I think we're going to get along just fine."
Xander and Zane chuckled and lead me inside. I came to a stop just inside when I saw that there were dry herbs hanging from the ceiling everywhere. She had a big fire roaring in the fire place off to the side and a big black cauldron with what smelled like stew cooking in it. On her couch sat three cats that all looked up at me as soon as I walked in.
"Just ignore them, we don't get very many guests out here." Sybil said as she walked towards the fire with a stack of bowls.
As she scooped stew into each bowl she offered us a seat and we dug in. As I finished my last spoonful I glanced up and saw that Sybil was watching me closely.
"Is your wolf's name Jade by chance?" She asked me.
"Yes. How did you know?" I asked curiously.
" You give off a very powerful aura that I've only ever read about. And the white wolf Jade is the only wolf in history to ever carry that aura." She stated calmly.
"What does that mean?" Zane asked.
"It means you've got a very powerful she wolf on your hands. She doesn't posses just one ability but three." She told Zane before standing up and moving to a table that had a stack of books on it. Grabbing an old leather one from the stack she walked back to us and placed it in my lap.
"This will help you understand your abilities a little better. Your emotions will play a big part in your ability to control them." Sybil said in a serious voice.
I looked down and saw that the book had a large wolf on the cover with her head thrown back howling at the moon.
" What are my abilities?" I asked quietly.
Sybil looked at me with a smirk. " You can the fire element, read people's minds, and given time even control what their bodies do."
I looked at Sybil then to Xander and Zane to see them already looking at me with looks of amazement. I did't know how to take this news. Was this something I even wanted?
