Rhea POV
Rhea woke up nervous for the day, it was transfer day. All her bags were packed and stacked at the front door ready for Rhea. She was so nervous what would happen on earth? Would her mate be on Earth? Would the pack accept a human Lune? All these questions kept circling her head. She almost had a panic attack everytime she thought about going to Earth. It was a miracle her name was picked out of that bowl. Rhea had never put her name in the lottery, wanting to stay home and protect the pack.
Yet somehow her name ended up in the bowl and she had been the 5th name chosen. Her and then the next name was her high-school ex boyfriend. Kofi, Rhea and him dated for almost all of high-school. The only reason the two broke up was because Rhaes father named her heir of the pack. Then when Rhea turned eighteen and Kofi wasn't her mate Rhea broke up with him. An Alpha had to be with their mate in order to run the pack. And Rhea never wanted a chosen mate. The gods and goddesses had a plan for her and she wanted to know what it was. If Rhea had taken a chosen mate she might not be able to find her fated mate. It's said that the fated bond is harder to feel once taken a chosen mate.
Rhea forbade herself from taken a chosen mate until she had searched long enough for her fated. Believing he would be on Earth was a bit far stretched. However Rhea truly feels she has searched all of Lunar. Rhea is a ferret shifter as is the rest of her pack. Her being fated to someone outside her pack with a bigger animal is a bit far stretched to. One truly never knew, most of the pairs in her pack were chosen mates.
After getting dressed in her black jeans that had tears and rips in them, a black tank top and her dark denim jacket; Rhea made her way downstairs. Her auburn red hair was naturally straight so all she had to do was brush it. Walking down to her kitchen Rhea smiled at the smell of pancakes and bacon.
"Is there eggs?" Rhea called out to the head chef. Someone she had known all her life.
"I can make you some my dear." Rhea watched the older lady walk off and make the eggs. The head chefs name was Artie. Rhea didn't know Her full name, just Artie. She wasn't old to were she was wrinkly and slow. Artie was a bit older than Rheas father but not by many years. Artie and Rheas father actually grew up together. Artie got a job as a cook when she was young and then when the old head chef passed away Artie was given the position. Artie is a bigger lady but Rhea loved that about her. Arties dark skin was different from most of the pack but Rhea also loved that. Everything that made Artie different was what made her special. Besides on Lunar everyone was forbidden from treating others different just because they were different.
Artie came back and placed the eggs in front of Rhea who had a plate full of pancakes. Rhea smiled and started to dig in as Artie laughed.
"Sorry miss Artie. Your food is just so good." Rhea said sighing as she took another bite. She sure was going to miss this food and miss Artie.
"Been doin this all my life child. You are gonna miss my cookin." Miss Artie said as she waved around a wooden spatula. Rhea chuckled and nodded. Rhea knew better than to talk with her mouth full.
"I will miss everyone. I like our world." Rhea said unsure what to do or say. Earth was so weird at least in Rhea's opinion. The pictures they have of Earth are just so different. but different is good. Thats what the children on Lunar were taught in school. Lunar doesn't even have crime because they don't have a system of money. The Lunars technology was far more advanced than Earth's. Lunar had a machine they called creaturae. It basically creates anything we can think of and want. As far as Lunar knew, Earth was behind them in technology.
Earth still used money system to buy and sell things. To the Lunars, Earth was behind them in tech. Earth had given each student about 10,000 in order to get supplies and anything else they might need. It was no where enough to stay there for the full four years. While on Lunar the humans wouldn't need money. The students from Lunar would have to get jobs down on Earth and earn their own wages. Rhea knew she was going to get something for transportation, not a car since Rhea found them a bit dangerous.
Rhea finished her food and got up making sure to wash her own dishes. No. Rhea did not have to wash her own dishes. Did she out of respect for the kitchen staff? Yes. That was the main reason Rhea always made sure to wash her own dishes.
Soon more voices filled the kitchen and Rheas family was entering. Her father, mother and brothers. They were younger than herself which is why her father named Rhea heir. Truth be told on Earth they would assume males should rule. Rheas father chose based on strength. If Rhea wasn't strong her father would have never chosen her as heir.
The family smiled and greater each other. Rhea sat with her family as they ate and once they were finished Rhea's mother smiled brightly.
"Everyone ready to bring your sister to the shuttle?"
