Life in Iyrolia
"Stop that girl!!" I couldn't wait to see how many of them was after me I sprinted and took off running like an antelope ' good day for pants ' I thought to myself as I could hear the sounds of running boots and horses towards me. it's always a thing of joy having the soldiers run after me there's no better sports than that ... suddenly my train of thoughts were distracted there I was running with full speed into a monk "oops"
.. that was all I said before colliding into him... in a hurry to get away I looked down.. great, now there were two identical bags looking at me I turned just in time to kick of a soldier unable to decide at that moment which bag was mine I picked both and sprinted off to the annoyance of the soldiers and the pleas of the monk " poor old man " I thought to myself I'd find you and return your bag to you . I hid in the woods so as to avoid the soldiers and waited till it was prayer time ( law of the king) before taking the long walk home I opened both bags to find a jewelry I've been chased for and the other carried something which looks like key but it was quite different I shrugged and replaced the content of the bags en route home I'd sell off the jewelry to Hensiam that should earn me at least 25 pounds enough to get Mom's medication and Thelma's favorite bread. This was Iyrolia where everyone lived by the rules of the king except a few which are the silver families those of brass and wood worked their back out in the mine or lose their lives in war my father himself died in the war when I was just 3 mum had been heavy with Thelma then I had to be strong for her and my little baby coming I never really had a childhood with much laughter and tears in other words I kinda lack emotions more people are still been sent to war a feud that began because of a gold mine the mine is still sealed up as Iyrolia and Jues were still waring over the mine if I'm ever caught I'd be sent to war something I've successfully evaded since I turned 18.Mum had cried on tge eve of my birthday knowing that i'd be sent to fight like the others there was no escaping that except by running away which was a death race that was when i had the idea of we moving to the woods deep into the woods there nobody will find us except wild animals. Mum had been hysterical at first but she had to agree instead of sending off to war so I wasn't registerd as a citizen at 18 and we had moved deep into the woods which we've lived in for 2 years now. Since i wasn't a registerd citizen i couldn't work or serve the king so i had to resolve to collecting from the rich to feed my family. It was always a risk going out of the woods if i'm ever found I'd be beheaded.. I took the last bend that leads to the store of Hansiam I threw the jewelry to him he examined it and smiled " you are beginning to get pretty big items which will land you in serious trouble" I remained silent and looked around to be sure I wasn't followed down here. He continued ranting about how beautiful I was,how I would make a lovely wife and should try putting up a smile while trying to touch my face I drew out my dagger and pointed it to him he shut up quickly gave me the money and I left " little devil, you'd eventually marry a man " I smirked at his last remark and sprinted into the woods away from the king and all the law that comes with his rulership we were better refered to as outcasts the sound of bells jeering from the town square indicated the king's columnist had come to collect taxes well we don't pay taxes as nobody is stupid enough to come this deep into the woods let alone suspect someone lives there on getting home I inspected my traps one had caught a squirrel and one caught a bore I knew Thelma wouldn't let me eat the little squirrel and would nurse it back to health like the little lady she was I smiled when I heard her footsteps approaching me " I've told you severally to stop keeping traps on this track it's mostly for squirrels and rabbits" I freed the squirrel but it couldn't run cause of it's injured limb " well someone has a patient" she smiled her hearty smile and my heart melted..she should have been in school but the law forbids the families of woods from going to school they can only serve the silvers and and the king .. I'd already vowed she wouldn't do any of that she carried the little squirrel and it accepted her embrace immediately" she'd make a great doctor" I said to myself and smiled bitterly I held her close and we walked inside to find mom has fainted again well I didn't panic this time it was now a regular we helped her to her bed and applied some ointment I'd gotten for her whilst I went to make dinner I could hear Thelma talking to the squirrel as she attended to his wound mum coughed and I knew she was up ...this was our life in Iyrolia.
